Diner Reviews
  • "As usual, making reservations with Open Table is a pleasure. When we arrived our table was ready exactly as promised. Our waiter, Sean, was Johnny-on-the-spot and brought our drinks promptly and exactly as ordered. He was knowledgeable about the wine list. When he returned to take our orders we asked for suggestions and he was very helpful in making selections. Our food was brought promptly, piping hot and large enough to satisfy anyone. This is not our first visit and we will continue to be regulars with the help of Open Table."

  • "This is our "go to" place when we have no idea what we are in the mood for.....pizza, a complete dinner, sandwich or salad."

  • "The food is always excellent, we always order the prime rib, its the best in the area. WE go there at least 2-3 times per month. The lighting is poor. Ambience could be a lot better, but the food is always excellent."

  • "Don't know what prompted me to order a hamburger but they know how to make them! Others with me also enjoyed their meals. This is not gourmet dining but the food is quite good and the noise level is minimal if you dine early."

  • "We returned to Village Tavern because our previous visit had been quite good. This time, I ordered something I probably shouldn't have, and that's the reason for the "good" rather than higher ratings. The first time was burgers - and they were worth returning for. This time, there were a couple of ahi tuna appetizer items that caught my eye, but the server recommended the ahi tuna salad. Wrong call. It was good, but I wouldn't order it again. But, we will return to Village Tavern."

  • "We both ordered their Filet, One was big and chunky and the other flat and over cooked They did take it back but that spoils the beat of the evening."

  • "Village Tavern is a large and attractive restaurant in the heart of Boynton Beach, primarily with booths rather than free-standing tables. The menu is expansive, and a separate gluten-free menu is available, too. Service at a recent Friday night dinner was attentive, and the food was very good; in particular, the grilled meatloaf entrée was an interesting take on an American classic. The only minor complaint involved red wine that was served a little too cold for one diner's taste (the waitress claimed that they keep all their red wines at 50 degrees, not room temperature)."

  • "They have great music on Saturdays. However, it stops very early and they are losing business! We went to another restaurant across the way and listened to other music."

  • "I have dine at vt several times, always good service. Wait time is nill, I reserve everywhere I go if possible. The decor is updated and simple. The food is prepared well and, food temp is on point. The agave drink is my fav; thanks to my waitress. In the end my waitress makes the experience so much more enjoyable."

  • "I have eaten there many times, but I suspect economic hard times are influencing the changes in the food. They no longer offer a 'early bird' and they no longer have specials for their prime rib night (which was Monday). I ordered the shrimp and filet special. It was ridiculously small. The meat was at best the size of a silver dollar - It looked more like a medallion of meat. It was supposed to be 4 oz. with 1/ dozen shrimp. The shrimp were cooked great although very small. The meat had to be sent back - overcooked!! The waitress offered complimentary soup since everyone else at the table was eating and my food was being re-cooked. Do NOT order the filet and shrimp dish - unless you are a child. The portion would shock any grown person."

  • "We love the Village Tavern because the food is consistently good to excellent. The service is quite good to excellent. We have been going since it opened and haven't really been disappointed yet. We recently moved and now have to travel a distance. It's worth it."

  • "It's nice to have a neighborhood restaurant that's casual yet has some ambience. Village Tavern's menu is so varied. You can have a light bite or complete steak dinner. Really, there's something for everyone. Salads are good as are the burgers. Service is good, too."

  • "We arrived on the late side.....for Boynton Beach that is. Our server was pleasant and efficient. As a GF diner, I do appreciate a separate menu with choices, so kudos there. I think there could be more on the list, and also have the chef understand that we GF people are frequently lactose intolerant as well. Knocking out pizza and two or three entres with cheesy grits makes for few choices. Also up charging for a baked potatoe in exchange for mashed potatoes makes me wonder what they added to the latter to increSe the volume. I had salmon that was very tasty, and cooked precisely to order."

  • "I was very disappointed with the presentation of my dish which was salad wedge, shared and split but the plate was a messl The shrimp scampi was floating in the butter sauce, unappealing, yet it tasted ok. I took home what I didnt eat since it was not inexpensive and didnt want to waste it and all the sauce had spilled into the bag that the leftovers were put into. I would say it all was done very haphazardly! (an I dont care attitude)"

  • "I have dined often at Village Tavern and consider it one of my stand by restaurants. This evening the food was served so rapidly, that my drink and salad were not finished as they loaded up the table with the main courses. We were definitely rushed out. I was with my grandchildren, one old enough to enjoy the adult menu. The younger enjoyed the choices on the children's menu. She barely had time to eat, before the check came and they started clearing the table. "
