Villa O -
Best Restaurants in Knox Henderson Dallas
The food at Villa O was okay. The
best thing was an appetizer we had that was not not italian, but more asian in flavoring. Our server was nice, but brought dirty wine glasses to the table and then took quite a while to bring clean ones. After reading reviews we were expecting outstanding food, but it was just okay. Nothing over the top great, nothing that was horrible either. There weren't full so the delay in bringing the wine glasses seemed very unnecessary. The server said he was polishing them. We won't be returning there."

Villa-O has always been one of my
favorite places to go for brunch ever since I was introduced to their chicken and waffles--which I'd argue may be the best in the area--the food always tastes fresh and service has always been prompt and friendly. The place is always alive and busy for brunch. At dinner time, Villa-O tends to be much quiter, well suited for a glass of wine with a friend or two to relax."

Restaurant is replacing A/C units,
so it is very warm in some spots. We had to move from the table where we were seated. The restaurant was not busy on a Friday night, which concerned us. But the food was delicious and ample. Our waiter did a nice job, but the support staff not so much! I think a good re-training on basic service is in order. By the time we left at 8:30, the restaurant was still mostly empty...odd for the Knox-Henderson area on a Friday night. The patio was pretty active and is apparently pet friendly."

We dine at Villa O very frequently
and have only had delicious meals and fantastic service"

Way too noisy, and the food was
so-so. Rather disappointed as the ambience is quite nice. Outdoor seating is great. Nice place to have a drink after work, especially if the weather is nice. Now, I have had dinner there in the past and it wasn't as noisy, and, as I recall, the food was better then."

The waiter kept rushing us even
though the restaurant was almost empty. We were clear that we were not in a hurry and he acted as though it were the lunch time rush. My lasagnette was only warm. The waiter never filled our wine glasses and we had to call him over to get another bottle. "

Great service and great food like
always. I entertained three out-of-town guests this weekend. They're still talking about how much they enjoyed brunch!"

We were the only ones in the
restaurant and our server was horrible! Inattentive and aloof. The food, however, made up for the horrible service. You can never go wrong with the food at Villa-O"

We have been going to villa-o
since it opened. It has been a good place to go when we have 6-8 people. Good food and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. This time there were 7 of us and not one meal was good. The waitress was mediocre at best"

Was searching for something tasty
on a recent work trip. This place did not disappoint. My cucumber salad and pizza were both delish and the lasagna my coworker had he was very happy with. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Beautiful interior."

Went for Easter Brunch. Had
challah french toast and ricotta blueberry pancakes with side of potatoes and turkey bacon. French toast was good-nothing amazing but good. Pancakes were way overcooked so very hard on the outside. Turkey bacon was as expected but the potatoes were delicious! They were seasoned with something and then there was a slight crispy outside so they were really tasty! Really nice large outdoor seating area! It was a beautiful day so even though the food was just "ok" we would definitely go back and recommend. Easter is always a hard one to judge a restaurant . Bottomless Mimosas and Bellinis were great!(not just juice!)"

Though the earliest we could get a
table was 2:30, we had a great time. Jade is an amazing server. She made the afternoon even more enjoyable. I always have a great experience at Villa-O"
Dined on 4/20/2014
Great atmosphere, open to the
outside, exciting A's vibrant patio scene, delicious fresh fishes and pasta. Server was not attentive and messed up the Bill. Don't let that stop you from enjoying this great restaurant."

I just moved into this
neighborhood and I wanted to treat my parents to a nice dinner. I've walked past Villa O several times and thought it seemed sufficiently fancy enough for the occasion. My first impression is the patio. That whole street is lined with patio restaurants and it provides a very pleasant atmosphere. We opted to eat inside, which was also very nice. I expected a little bit of snobbishness from the staff, but we found them all to be very friendly and accommodating. And the food was delicious. I'm not much of a food critic, so I won't try to elaborate, but it was all very good and we very much enjoyed ourselves."

Ordered sea bass and paid for sea
bass - got tilapia"

The place used to be really good.
We recently dined there and one of the dishes was terrible. The cook must have accidently put cinnamon in a white wine pasta sauce (pasta with lobster). After telling our server, they told us they would fix it. However, the same dish came back, they just added tomato sauce to mask the cinnamon flavor (which the cook did not succeed in doing). So sad to see this place go downhill. With so many restaurants to choose from in Dallas, we won't be coming back here."

We consistently select Villa O for
brunch, because it has great food and drinks, and is one of few places that accepts reservations (for brunch). Great as always."
Dined on 3/23/2014
I have been to Villa O for their
weekend brunch many times. I have to say on Saturday I was disappointed with the wait time for our table (yes, we had reservations) and my food. Of course, the drinks were great as usual. I ordered the Neapolitan Pizza (cheese pizza). I had it once before and it was great. Not so much this time. Every other slice had no cheese, way too much olive oil, and the bottom of the crust was charred (but not in a good way). Overall, we had a good time. I will be going back, but I think I'll skip the pizza!"

I had brunch here with a friend -
the food was great and the prices are excellent. We both had the omelette and fruit, and we were both surprised at how much food we got for the low price. I highly recommend making a reservation as it is very busy. Their Sunday brunch 3-entree, kids under 15 eat free is an excellent deal."

We keep coming back with friends
for the fennel encrusted scallops. They also serve Hook and Ladder Chardonnay by the glass if you don't have enough people to share."

Back to back nights should tell
you something. Friend and I started with some good tasting Malbac. Salads were our starters. Dinner was an awesome chicken and pasta in a meat sauce. Good place."
Dined on 3/12/2014
Came in with four special friends.
For three of them it was their first time and they truly enjoyed it. Excellent starters and the fish specials and pasta were the main dishes. All great service and food."

Come here for brunch all the time.
Drink specials are $10 all you can drink mimosa, Bellini, bloody Mary, probably a couple of others I can't recall... you can change drinks too and try all the ones they offer. Service and food is good. It can get a bit loud inside so if the weather is good, opt for their great patio. If you don't have a reservation on weekend the wait can get pretty long but I made reservations the last couple of times and had practically no wait at all."
Dined on 3/1/2014
Outstanding dining experience, as
always! Villa O has a great bottomless mimosa, bellini, sfuzzi and bloody mary option for around 10 per person and it's well worth it. Good food as well as a great atmosphere make VO a favorite for Sunday Brunch. And if so inclined, they also do it (brunch) on Friday and Saturday as well. As for Jade, she's a gem!"

We were pleasantly surprised by
the quality of food at this restaurant. The eggplant parmesan is a must have!"
Dined on 2/22/2014
The service was so bad only one
waitress for all the tables that we're having lunch. We were 6 nobody liked their food, it was tasteless."

We had a perfect valentines dinner
here. Highly recommend it."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Food was good. Waitress service
was excellent. Place is a little noisy and so hard to talk. However big issue was the management. It is ok to make a mistake but make sure you correct it then and there. Because of a specific manager we will never set foot back in this place again. Even when they recognized that a mistake had been made their efforts to correct were pretty insulting. Too many great places in Dallas to spend money here again. I hope they learnt from this experience and never treat anyone like this again"

Bunch was served cold and food was
mediocre. The staff, however, was attentive & friendly. They're to be commended for managing a very busy day with many guests crowing the restaurant - out to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather."

We've had brunch several times at
Villa O and it's always superb! The service can't be beat and the menu offers something for everyone. This time, we all had the organic omelet (my favorite), along with Bellini's and Mimosas. It was a perfect meal and plenty of great stores near by if you want to walk a little after your meal!"

We made a reservation for Sunday
brunch for 11:30. Upon arrival, we were told to have a seat in the lounge area and that we would be notified when our table was ready. At 12:15 we were finally taken to our table where we had to wait another 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Our server was curt, and rarely checked on us. The large party next to us combined with the blaring music was so loud, our party of four could hardly each each other. The food was decent, but not noteworthy enough for a repeat visit, especially not enough to endure the appallingly rude Uptown crowd. If you are an early twenty-something looking for a brunch spot to see and be seen, this may be for you, but if good service and quality food are priorities, skip Villa-O."

I'm not sure what else to say.
We're here all the time, so I always give the same review. The only thing that stood out this time was our waitress, Camille, who was charming...and just great."
Dined on 1/12/2014
This was not our first trip to
Villa O, and doubt it will be our last. It was slow at 7:30 Friday, but bustling by 9:00. This was the first time we sat in a booth - the cushions sink to an awkwardly low level (and I'm 6'3" 175 lbs). Some may like that, but I will stick to regular tables there from now on. Service was exactly what we like in our dining experiences - not too little, not too much. Our waitress was patient with us as we had a difficult time deciding on our entrees. Food highlights were the Caesar salad with polenta croutons (nice for gluten-free diners), spaghetti frutti di mare, lentil-bean soup, sauteed spinach and parmesan risotto. We also enjoyed the reasonably priced Pinot Noir from the Friuli region."

Food is always wonderful. We
brought some out of town guests, and they thoroughly enjoyed everything. But the service is rarely on-point. They're SO busy, and never seem to be adequately staffed."

We live in a suburb of Dallas, but
we don't mind making the drive to enjoy the brunch. We go with our friends and on patio days bring the kids to enjoy the vibrant scene at villa-o. Bottomless sfuzzis are the best and the italian benedict."
Dined on 1/5/2014
I was so happy to find this gem of
a restaurant, especially on New Year's Eve. The food was absolutely fantastic .. I had the scallops and they were cooked to perfection. The Caesar Salad was one of the best. Back to the scallops .. they were on bed of greens and thin sliced potatoes which in turn were nestled on the best pesto I have ever had. Since it was already 8:30 on New Years Eve, it was fairly noisy, but people were having fun and I didn't mind the upbeat atmosphere. We will be going back and bringing lots of friends with us!"

My wife and I are new to the
Dallas area and a co-worker recommended Vill-O. My wife had the N.Y. Strip which was absolutely among the best I've ever tasted, and I had the lasagne which was excellent. Ambience is nice, there were many families with kids, no babies fortunately. Our server was pretty disinterested in our satisfaction, didn't make us feel welcome when he first came to our table. Maybe he didn't like working Christmas Eve, but he still has to satisfy his customers that are spending their hard earned money. It's the job of a server to be polite and add to the dining experience. The food is so good that we'll go back again, even if the service was below average."
Dined on 12/24/2013
There's not really much more to
say. Pizza and pastas are always great. The brunch drinks are always great."
Dined on 10/27/2013
They have a great 3 course Sunday
night dinner for $16 where kids eat free!"

This was our first time to
Villa-O. We reserved a table for eight for a birthday brunch. The manager and wait staff greeted us at the door as we brought in a birthday cake, gifts and a few decorations. They were very helpful and attentive throughout the party. It was a great time and the staff really went above and beyond to help make the celebration special. The food was very good especially the breaded mushrooms and flat bread appetizers. We'll be back."
