This was not my best experience with Villa Dolce. I have been twice before for lunch without issue, but this dinner was a bad experience. First, I made my reservation with Open Table in the morning, they said they did not have it when part of the party arrived at the restaurant. The party before is was having a similar issue with a missing reservation. We waited 30 minutes before being seated. Then, the service was SLOW. It took our party of four 2 hours to have dinner! Nothing extravagant mind you, one glass of wine (we were afraid to ask for anything else due to speed), no appetizers or dessert! The food was good, which was the redeeming quality and why we may consider returning. I recommend only if you dont waiting, for everything.

From looking at their menu on their website, I got the impression that Villa Dolce was mainly an upscale pizza restaurant. I was so impressed by the choices on their menu, and the quality of the food was amazing. There is a large selection of appetizers and signature dishes, with a varied bar menu that had some fun, tasty cocktails. I immediately put it on my short list of places to visit again, because there were so many items on the menu that I wanted to try. The dining room is comfortable and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'll be back soon to ensure that this local business continues to thrive!

The food was excellent. The atmosphere festive yet intimate. Fantastic drink menu. Our server was somewhat flat - efficient but not particularly friendly - perhaps a bit overwhelmed by the turn out? We would recommend to friends and dine there again.

I wouldn't call it "energetic" so much as loud. We were seated in a booth with 2 other couples (whom we didn't know and hadn't met before). The restaurant appears to be a converted old house with two average sized rooms used for dining. You will be in close quarters with everyone. My wife liked it, I didn't care for it so much. I suppose it was because it was during Madison Restaurant Week, but by the time the server got to any given table they were always past ready to order. Good food, but I didn't care much for the service or tight space.

The food there was absolutely amazing! I also really appreciate their service model. They aren't just trying to turn tables. They are trying to create a dining experience where you can have a long leisurely meal with friends over a bottle of wine. It was such a nice change from other restaurants. It was the perfect place for a relaxing meal after a long day of work.
