  • "I would say overall the food was good. My husband's sea bass was delicious. I was somewhat disappointed in the steak. It was a sirloin served al a carte. I ordered mashed potatoes which were only warm. The steak should have been sizzling. If I wanted a vegetable, I would have had to order that separately as well. My meal could have easily topped $40.00. I am not a novice to fine dining and I will be happy to pay for an outstanding meal. I would have been happier with a different cut of meat, say a filet, and have a vegetable and starch included."

  • "My wife surprised me with an anniversary weekend at lovely Summerwood B&B just outside Paso Robles and on the recommendation of resident chef Kelly we grabbed an available reservation at VC. On hearing it was our anniversary our terrific waitperson brought over complimentary sparkling wine, which we followed with excellent signature cocktails. My wife had an asparagus and English pea salad and I had a special market salad of goat cheese, greens and stone fruit. Her salad was delicious. Mine was among the best I've ever had. We split an aged locally bred ribeye which was done perfectly and served with herb mashed potatoes so creamy good I wanted to take some back to the room like a squirrel hoarding for the winter. A great night."

  • "Once again, Villa Creek did not disappoint! The ambiance, the food, and the service were impeccable!! We celebrated our 23rd anniversary at VC this past Saturday and couldn't ask for better! Lindsey, our server, was THE BEST, and it was only her second day on the job! The food is something we are still talking about! We enjoyed the Shepherd's platter, a house salad, the pork shoulder roast, and the show stopper, the steamed chocolate cake!! Still dreaming about that dessert! Our wine paring with the pork was recommended to us; we had the Lone Madrone Zin! Simply wonderful! Everything was just amazing. We are headed back in September and we are making our reservations once again!!"

From vegetarian dishes to the roasted pork shoulder, everything we had was imaginative and highlighted the local, seasonal ingredients in the best light.   • "On June 20, my wife and I had an exceptional meal at Villa Creek. We were a little worried at first because there wasn't any venison on the menu. And I had an incredible buffalo rib eye steak there a few years ago. My pork was masterfully cooked as were the green beans and potatoes. My wife had a pasta dish with a meatless ragout that was so flavorful you would swear it had a beef-based reduction sauce poured over it. Their variation on chocolate mousse capped off the meal perfectly."

  • "Notified them we would need to eat outside because traveling with a dog. Did not get a response. When we arrived we were told we could eat on the bar patio with the bar menu as back patio was closed. Tim the manager was called and he did accommodate us by opening the back patio for us.we were the only people out there and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves"

  • "Changed for the better, that is... My wife had been to Villa Creek last year, and had a lovely dinner. So she suggested, on this trip up to the central coast we go to Villa Creek for dinner. What neither of us expected was the change that had occurred in this restaurant. Somewhere between later year and last weekend the world of fine dinning has a new front runner in Paso Robles. She had the Asparagus & Fresh Pea salad (which, after a little taste test, I could barely keep my mitts off it. Even though I manage to keep my face buried in the chilled Meyer Lemon and Carrot soup. Gonna run out of letter soon. So - go there! Get the salad above, get the linguini with poached tuna, but mostly... get any desert with buttermilk gellato!!"

  • "First of all we ordered sparkling water. The waitress brought us an unmarked bottle & poured water into our glasses. The water was sweet - sugary sweet. So, I tied to get her attention and she saw me but waived her finger at me to wait a minute and she would be back. We explained about the water, she said this is all they had without checking the water herself or apologize. We ordered a hatch chile appetizer that was not quite as flavorful as hatch chile can be. Our entrees - pork chop and short rib dishes were nice looking and good size portion but way too salty. We don't live in Paso but come here often. There are too many better restaurants to dine at. Hope they get their act together."

  • "Villa Creek came highly recommended, so I stopped there (as a single diner) on my overnight road trip from LA. The Ahi Tuna Ceviche was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! It went perfectly with a spicy cocktail recommended by my friendly efficient waitress! Don't recall the name of the cocktail, but it comes with a slice of jalapeño on top. If you like drinks with a kick, don't miss this one. The entree special of the night, a beautifully done snow white Halibut was lovely. I can't wait to return and try other things on the interesting fresh menu."

  • "This experience was unimpressive. The young lady at the front desk sat us near the front doors with sunlight & cold air when doors opened & noise from busy lounge and front desk. She appeared unhappy about moving us and when we resisted another table, she put us in the very back room, until the front room spilled into the back, yet there were only one or two other tables in the whole place full at the time. Attitude and judgment problems. Both waitresses were delightful and served us well; the menu was too unusual for our taste, and what we had was OK at best-not the remarkable place we had read about. Just a fair experience; would not recommend; will not return. Bad start, not saved by due to weak fare!"

  • "Villa Creek has become one of our go to spots for dinner while we are visiting Paso Robles, CA. The chef is innovative and uses a lot of locally farmed and grown items to make his dishes. The restaurant is casual and the wait staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. We enjoyed our dinner very much. One of the items they are known for are their Duck Natchos. I ordered them this time and they are delicious. The bar part of the restaurant is very busy and energetic. Great place to go to when you are in the area. By the way, the prices are very far."

  • "Very nice spot for dinner with excellent food, especially good for vegetarians or vegans. I had an issue with the detail of the menu, not enough description of the dishes to avoid surprises. I ordered a seafood dish that was advertised as good for two people for my wife and myself. I even spoke to the server about the type of fish. The menu never mentioned nor did the server that we would be getting a whole fish, head and tail. Left on her own my wife would have sent it back, I was happy to bone the fish and serve my wife and it was delicious but that omission almost ruined the evening."

  • "The menu is diverse and delicious. The dessert menu was remarkable as well. This was a wonderful place for an anniversary dinner after visiting the local tasting rooms. The only complaint (and it's a trivial one) the corkage fee was a bit steep otherwise, the meal was well worth the money spent. Truly a grand dining experience!"

  • "We had a delicious meal at Villa Creek Restaurant. The staff was attentive without being intrusive and the food was delicious. I had tuna and linguini with a pine nut, golden raisin, and red chili pepper sauce. My husband had a pork chop with sauerkraut and apples. The food was well presented and cooked to perfection. We will definitely eat at the Villa Creek again."

  • "Hadn't been to VC on several previous Paso trips. Nice looking restaurant, lively bar. We found the wine list had a good selection, but it was pricey compared to similar places. We also found the regular menu not as appealing as the bar menu, so ordered off it. The "Not Nachos" was a hit as an appetizer. Entrees were varied and good. Service was adequate, but our server didn't exude friendliness. The concrete floors carry a lot of noise, so the loud talk of one man at an adjoining table could be heard throughout. If I return, it will be in the bar."

  • "The dinners were all satisfactory except for one at our table which was a steak that was tough. And noted that to the waiter which we thought we would have been paid a visit by the manager to inquire about it. No one came. I think the manager was too busy at another table which looked like friends or maybe some staff all the way at the end of the restaurant in a corner and was deep in conversation and never left their table the entire time we were dining. Maybe the waiter never passed on the information. Anyway the green chile stew was the best and really surprisingly hot but so tasty."

  • "We were excited to try Villa Creek but ended up not having a very enjoyable evening. Our waitress was slow in coming to our table and not very pleasant when she showed up.. We ordered our wine from her; on the plus side a very nice, helpful man handled our wine choice. When our waitress returned to our table she told us her shift was ending and another waitress would take over. The new waitress was an huge improvement - welcoming and attentive. Food was ok but we may not have ordered well - the short ribs were outstanding but the rest of the things we ordered were only ok."

  • "Loved Loved Loved this restaurant! While wine tasting, we were told to try the "Not Nachos". Of course we couldn't wait to eat. We sat in the bar. Our bartender was friendly and funny. The No Nachos were spectacular! A great combination of flavors. Even the duck was not too gamie and went perfectly with the mole. Needless to say, we enjoyed every moment of the Not Nachos and would recommend it it everyone! We also ordered the cheese plate and the oysters. Wonderful combinations and flavors!"

The Lentil and Chicken stew was hearty and satisfying but the Papas Bravas are not for the faint of heart as they are very spicy ( but very good ) The Brick Chicken and Short Ribs were outstanding as well. We didn't have room for dessert, regrettably. The house Cab is a very good, full bodied red as well."

Wine list heavy in European and little selection other than the VC, which were overpriced I think. Atmosphere fun, but full of tipsy tasters on Friday night - so a little rowdy."

  • "Overall prices are high, quality of food was OK, not bad, but not great either. We're there during low season, so it was really quiet, but I think it would be very noisy during high season. We like their shared plates items more than the entrées. The wines are very expensive given that they are local wines - we could have brought our own bottle of the same wine, paid the corkage fee, and still wouldn't come out to a fraction of their prices."

  • "Villa Creek is the perfect place for a special dinner. The food was delectable, and the service was outstanding. We started with the duck nachos (which are on the bar menu, but can be ordered from the dining room) and the autumn farmers market salad. The nachos were absolutely amazing, and the salad was light and full of flavor. For drinks we started with a moscow mule and an old fashioned. My boyfriend was very impressed with the old fashioned, and he is bit of a fan. We then shared a pork belly entree, which was served over a sweet potato and root vegetable hash. There were so many flavors that came together perfectly. We finished off the evening with the persimmon cake served with condensed milk gelato, which I am still dreaming of!"
