Vidalia RestaurantVidalia Restaurant Review - 6/2013Vidalia is a "keeper". Excellent ambiance; Excellent menu choices; Dining inside or outside; Wait staff very professional and knowledgeable; simply charming.......................Rob Levin6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNice placeWent for wifes birthday, was expecting a quiet dinner. Turns out there was a party there with 12 very loud older women. Food was good regardless of the old Hens laughing loud all night.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMet my parents here (theyMet my parents here (they haven't been here since I took them 3 or 4 years ago), and we all had outstanding meals. I was in the mood for their delicious cannelloni; it never disappoints! My mother made a great meal on soup and stuffed mushrooms and dad loved his penne with meatballs.
Now they know why I'm a frequent diner, here. I know they'll be back, again.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVidalia: A great new find!Found Vidalia on line when in need of a business lunch. Although a nice day, it was rather humid, so we elected inside dining. Service was warm and friendly. Food was wonderful: Organic Atlantic Salmon with green beans, and my friend had a lovely greens with grilled chicken and avocados. Will return when in the Lambertville area.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite Italian restaurantIt's three towns over from us but we think the trip is always worth it. Most recently celebrated my son's new job, al fresco and in comfort. Chef/owner Sal places great importance on his sauces and overall presentation, and many of the appetizers (artichoke francaise, beet salad, stuffed onion) are unbelievable. Go repeatedly and Sal will remember!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food! The food was spectacular! We sat outside and it was the perfect evening.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Kept SecretThis is one of Mercer County's best kept secrets. I'm only sorry it took me so long to find it. The food is outstanding as well as the service. Will definitely be going back.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Absolute when near LawrencevilleWe happened across Vidalia 3 years ago and it has become an annual event for us (followed by ice cream at the nearby Purple Cow)!
Our Recent visit (June 8, 2013) found a busier night than previously (the previous night's heavy rains may have created rescheduled diners.
While I enjoy well created and served cuisine I am not a critic. Nevertheless our experience was exceptional. A special of duck in a berry sauce served with sweet potatoes found crisp skin and literally melt in your mouth meat. A regular on the menu of lamb was just as tender and the accompanying mashed potatoes were flavorful. We also shared a salad and appetizer. Both were delicious.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Graduation Dinner at Vidalia! We go to Vidalia pretty often and always have a great meal. My daughter graduated from high school this weekend and I asked her where she wanted to go for dinner with the family afterwards - she chose Vidalia. This turned out to be a great choice for our family. They made us feel welcome, got wine buckets, various wine glasses, etc to our table of 8 very quickly. Service was prompt and friendly. The meal choices were varied and so delicious that everyone practically licked their plates clean. My daughter had a wonderful time and so did we.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood service, Great foodWe had a 6 PM reservation and were meeting old College Classmates and our former Department Dean for an impromptu reunion. Our plans were to meet our friends at our local University a bit before before to walk around campus, etc., but unfortunately the weather was horrendous and we had no place to go. The restaurant was very accommodating and allowed us to sit early (and we opened some wine early). The restaurant is a BYOB which is great. The service by the staff was outstanding and attentive. By 6:30 the place was packed and we soon found out why. The food was super, portions were generous and the deserts were delectable. We live 100 miles away, if not Vidalia would be a regular hangout for us.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA bit of al fresco Europe in NJWonderful byob in the heart of Lawrenceville. The outdoor dining option is a lovely summer evening option...the service is charming...the chef/owner onmipresent..the the food is terrific. A real feel of a family owned trattoria in Italy....particularly enjoyed the special beet salad and my wife's lemon sole. Highly recommend for a wonderful, relaxing night out.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMQuality Dining with Personal TouchA lovely dining room with Italian motifs, and a quiet, comfortable outdoor dining area off the side street make Vidalia's a truly enjoyable dining experience. But what I like is the personal touch of chef/owner Salvatore who comes out of the kitchen, greets guests and inquires about the service and the meals. The waiter knew the menu well and the many appetizer and main course specials very well. Always a great experience.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVidalia excellenceGreat overall experience. All four in our group loved the food. Service was exceptional and very friendly. And the outdoor setting was terrific. We will be back.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch or dinner, it's alwaysLunch or dinner, it's always a pleasure to dine at Vidalia. The pork chop was a special was outstanding, as was the sausage soup. Between the regular menu and the specials, there is always a great choice for any mood.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinnerThe food and atmosphere were great - we sat outside on a summer night. Service was wonderful as well and combined with BYOB, you can't beat it!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed my lunchI really enjoyed my lunch special, pollo con fico, which was something that I have frequently had at dinner (it's on the dinner menu).
The lenti soup was also very well done.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNot for those in a rushThe food and service were very good. All of the staff are friendly and very helpful. BUt the restaurant was small and the kitchen even smaller so when all of the out-door tables were sat within 20 minutes I knew there would be a bit of a delay for food. Maybe not the best choice for a friday night but my wife and I will go back mid-week as there are many other things on the menu we have to try.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightfulLocated in a quiet nook in Lawrenceville borough, this quaint restaurant is teemed with personal, friendly service. The owners and the chef made a point to stop by and make sure everything was perfect. It was. Food was delicious. They were completely accommodating. We had reservations for indoors but allowed us to move to a perfect outdoor location on this warm, clear night. Definitely will go back again and hope no one else finds out about it;) Perfect byob restaurant.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOne can not ask for more whenOne can not ask for more when it comes to the cuisine and service. Highly recommended by a frequent diner.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMpleaseantly surprised - thepleaseantly surprised - the atmosphere was quaint and intimate - food was very fresh!
we would defintiely go back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Dining ExperienceEnjoyed the restaurant and the food very much. Service was excellent and the outdoor terrace eating was beautiful. If it was a bit warmer out, would have dined outside. Recommend as a local favorite and something to drive a bit for.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding DinnerFood was superb as well as the service. Highly recommended.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI know of four or five greatI know of four or five great Italian restaurants in the Lawrence-Pennington-Princeton area, and this one is one of the very best. These outstanding meals feature a high degree of creativity and originality and once experienced, you will keep returning.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Italian in Princeton AreaVidalia consistently has an excetional menu with specials that Chef Salvatore uses to expand your food pallette. The only downside is the small size, but if you are lucky enough to get a reservation, you won't mind.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is delicious. ServiceFood is delicious. Service is great. It is our favorite girls’ night out place in Lawrenceville!!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery elegant. Staff is wonderful.Very elegant. Staff is wonderful. Love that onion and sausage appetizer.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful. Small. Tasty. Cozy feel.My boyfriend and I love this place. We go once every two weeks or so. The food and service is wonderful. It's actually a home turned into a restaurant so it's very small, but it gives off a cozy feel. I recommend a reservation.
The only con I can think of is that because the dining room is so small, tables are closer together;so you can hear other table's conversations quiet well. This restaurant sometimes brings quiet a pretentious crowd, but don't let the "stuffy" side conversations ruin this great meal!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Find!We were looking for a place half way between South and North Jersey since we were meeting up with friends. We found Vidalia on the Internet taking a gamble. What a great find. The six of us all loved our meals. The service was exceptional. We will definitely return.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
