Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant never fails to be wonderful. It's a small-town feel with a big town sophistication. The menu is diverse enough to accommodate all palates. It's a BYOB so the prices are much more reasonable."

  • "Been to Vidalia a few times and it just seems to keep getting better!!! From the appetizer to rhe salad - to the main course, everything was way above par!!! Too stuffed for desert but watching around us, that looked great too! Service was very friendly, knowledgable and speedy!!!"

  • "We have eaten at Vidalia's on a number of occasions and the food was terrific every time. If not the best Italian restaurant in Central Jersey, it's certainly one of the top 2 or 3."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "That's the best word I can think of to describe the pork chop Milanese that was one of the day's specials. That, coupled with the great service one always expects and gets."

  • "whether a comforting pasta on a cold winter's night or a wonderful special to eat outside under the setting sun, Vidalia's has been a mainstay for great neighborhood dining for many years. Great food, great service in a great atmosphere. A quiet dinner for two or with the kids and granddaughter, Vidalia's never fails."

  • "The restaurant handled a busy evening without a hitch. Service was attentive and the food was excellent. Vidalia's signature onion soup was outstanding. A very nice evening and a restaurant that deserves a return visit."

  • "The food was delicious. My husband had veal Marsala. He said it was the best he's had! I had a shrimp, sausage and broccoli rabe over pasta special. It too was delicious and a large portion. Took half home. We had calamari and beet salad as appetizers. Both were great."

  • "The scallops are the best I have ever eaten the staff know everything north south, east and west of the food..its just an amazing town gem. I come from new york to this small town gem Italian restaurant and go back home knowing I will never find a place that comes close. Me and my girlfriend are considering moving here not only for this restaurant but for the town...to keep it short I look forward to coming to Vidalias once a year like Christmas and it never disappoints."

  • "Staff was attentive and accommodating, and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Note that the restaurant is BYOB."

  • "Owner called us Saturday morning to reconfirm and advised us of many area graduations and let us know "special parking hints". Service and food were outstanding. Not a negative from start to finish. We were the last patrons to leave and never felt rushed, they even came by with extra coffees so we could continue cgatting.chatting Will DEFINITILY return and recommend to others."

  • "A wonderful evening! The food was terrific overall--the duck special was fantastic. Very attentive service. Sal and his staff always do a great job which is why we keep going back. "

  • "After many dinners here over the winter, I came in for a lunch. Although there may be fewer choices, there are certainly enough for me and with the same outstanding quality that I have come to expect. I have always found the soup to be special (this time it was the portobello), as well as the cannelonni with it's wonderful house-made sausage."

  • "We have been to Vidalias several times and we have never been disappointed. It is our go to place for all our special occasions. Excellent food and always something interesting on the menu."

  • "It's not easy to find a " great' restaurant in our area but this is a winner. The food is freshly prepared and never disappoints. The chef personally comes out and visits all of the tables to make sure that his guests are pleased. It is a small restaurant with nice ambiance. When the weather is nice, outside dining is available. The servers are very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. Make sure that you call ahead for a reservation because it fills up quickly. "

  • "Vidalia is my favorite neighborhood restaurant. It is cozy, nicely decorated albeit small, food is consistently good, and when the weather is nice, the tables outside the restaurant are a delight. The chef is always pleasant and gracious and 3 male servers that have been there for the last year are wonderful. And oh, let me mention it again, the food is CONSISTENTLY yummy!"

  • "We needed dinner before an event at the nearby Ryder University campus, and selected Vidalia based on Internet reviews. Overall, the experience was very good, including tasty food, well-prepared, and of decent quality. The serving staff was very nice also. The indoor setting is pleasant enough, except that tables are packed quite tightly: You're overhearing any conversion from your neighbors (and I wouldn't venture into very personal conversations either). There is an outdoor terrace that seemed a bit less cramped, but we haven't had the chance to try that yet. Still, recommended. "

  • "We are frequent diners @ Vidalia and Friday's (5/9) visit was one of the best. Thanks to Sal and the team. Logan did a great job with our table and though Vidalia was busy, he and the others kept pace."

  • "What I selected was outstanding and, since I have had these selections many times over the past couple of years, I have certain expectations. Once again my food was perfectly prepared and a complete delight."

  • "I don't know how they do it but this gem has consistently great food, wonderful specials along with service that is just right. Friendly, there when you need them and not over bearing. We love bringing friends here to experience it. "

  • "Friday night is date night in our house. We try a different restaurant every week. Vidalia was a special surprise find. Everything was excellent. We plan to go back and recommend everyone try it. But not on Friday nights when we go. "

  • "I've eaten at Vidalia numerous times and the food is consistently delicious, no matter what you order! The service is on point as well and who doesn't love a BYOB? The outdoor patio is beautifully decorated and really nice for dining. If you haven't been to this spot yet, make it a point to go very soon."

  • "Wonderful outdoor dining. The weather was perfet for an early evening meal and so was the food."

  • "Took my daughter to Vidalia for dinner on a rainy Tuesday night and we both loved the food and the atmosphere. The Cipolla Vidalia onion soup and minestrone soup were both excellent. My daughter had the Rigatoni alla Vodka which she loved (and she is a picky eater) and I had the Pollo Scarparello which came with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus which was delicious! We both took home leftovers which were enjoyed the next day. I am looking forward to returning to Vidalia again and would love to try other dishes as well. Service was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. Vidalia is a BYOB so don't forget to bring your favorite bottle of wine!"

  • "Vidalia lives up to its "eclectic Italian" description and more. It offers first-rate, creative cuisine and a staff that makes dining extraordinarily friendly from the welcome to departure. Beautiful outdoor dining area too. We enjoyed the "California salad" blending mesclun, apples, walnuts with abundant Gorgonzola and honey-balsamic dressing; mussels (a "special") in a light pesto cream sauce (presentation included edible flowers) plus baskets of crunchy, hot bread to sop up the sauce. Entrees: a baked salmon filet with haricots vert and Vidalia's "Sashimi Tuna BLT" both excellent. Vidalia is reminiscent of San Francisco/Sausalito, a little off-beat, lots of fresh flowers and charm. We will be back, next time for dinner. "

  • "The restaurant is delightful if a bit loud. I think the outdoor seating area is preferable when the good weather finally arrives."
    Dined on 4/24/2014
  • "Everything about Vidalia was just great...crisp white linen tablecloth, attentive service, delicious food (rainbow trout special is to die for), even the ice water tasted so good! Wish we lived closer, we'd be here all the time."

  • "We met friends from out of state who were visiting relatives nearby. They are very discerning diners and we were tasked with finding a place to have dinner. We found Vidalia's warm and inviting. As soon as the first appetizer arrived at our table it was clear that we would not be disappointed. Everything was delicious. In addition to tasting great, the appetizers and desserts were especially artistically presented."

  • "My first opportunity to dine outside since October. Excellent dinner from the soup to the entree; a great experience."

  • "This is a friendly, family-style BYOB restaurant. The food is delicious,, the service friendly and efficient, and being there is just fun. The seating space is small and on a party evening the noise level can get way up there for the hard of hearing. In the summer, though, on a soft, warm evening, dining on the patio, under the Chinese lanterns and among the potted magnolias, can be worth celebrating all by itself."
