  • "Dined here on Friday night with 6 people in our party. Our server, Matthew T, was extremely Inattentive and every time we needed something we had to flag him down. It was clear that he wasn't busy, he just did not care. I am a server so normally I am very understanding when I go out to eat. This was not the case this time because he was not even trying to provide good service. The food was pretty good and I will more than likely give vida another try (with a new server)."

  • "The food at Vida is great. I was disappointed by the service during my recent visit. The waitress wasn't able to answer my questions and when she brought us our cocktails in plastic cups, offered the explanation that they were just serving them that way on this particular evening. When the manager came by to see how everything was he was already on to the next table before he'd even finished his sentence to us. Our waitress also disappeared with our credit cards and the bill for an extended period of time. I'll cut her some slack here as it was a busy evening and it was later in the dinner hour, but it just capped off an overall disappointing experience and one in which I was introducing out of town guests to Charlotte's dining community."

  • "Went here for an early dinner on Sunday night. About a third of the complimentary chip basket hadn't been cooked long enough - limp with no crisp - yuck. My first margarita was in a rather small glass packed with ice, and basically consisting of 3 good swallows. So I ordered another one rather quickly, which came without a fresh lime. When I asked the server to bring a wedge, she replied that they were out of limes. What? A Mexican restaurant with no limes? She said they had been "slammed all weekend" and were out of alot of other stuff too. Needless to say, the rest of the dining experience was no better. There are way too many great restaurants in this Charlotte vicinity to ever feel the need to return again."

  • "Our overall experience was great. We had reservations for 6pm.we walked in at 5:50 to our table. All the food was wonderful from the chips and salsa to the appetizers and both entrees. Dinner was served at a speedy rate. Drinks never empty. Knowledge and friendly wait staff. Reasonably priced. A little noisy....but very upbeat atmosphere. I will be going back and would recommend."

  • "Service overdone to the point where we felt rushed to order and drinks kept being refilled before we done were being balanced into space on th table (we each had two glasses at one point). The waiter was "too efficient" for his own good. Took our appetizer plates before we were done. The chips and salsa were the only thing we liked; chips were warm and toasty, salsa had just enough spice. The carnitas were so greasy they gave me indigestion. The refried black beans were tasteless and the rice was dry. My son, who is 5, normally cleans his plate whn he eats Mexican, he barely ate half, then we had to buy him a hot dog at the circus. Would expect more for the price and the location. We love Roosters, wish we had gone there."

The pinto bean soup was amazing and our entrees were very tasty. I had carne asada, which was very good. My boyfriend had the salmon and asparagus salad and I would recommend that to anyone who loves asparagus..Different but delicious. Great atmosphere and nice margaritas!"

  • "The experience was alright except for the experience with the hostess. Checked in and informed her I had a reservation. She would not seat me until my party (of 3 arrived). I stood at the front and watched parties of 3, 4, 5, and 6 be seated! Second person of my party arrived and she still would not seat us right away. Wouldn't you seat a party of 2 at the same place as a party of 3?!? Finally after much prodding she say us. Our third person never showed up. Sure glad the hostess didn't make us stand at the front of the restaurant waiting on the third person of our party to arrive. Why make a reservation when you can walk in off the street and be seated before a person who made a reservation? Isn't that the POINT if making a reservation?"

  • "I was part of a group of six and were able to walk right in and get a table, which was nice. Margaritas were very good. As a group we ordered three apps....guacamole (delicious), queso (wasn't my favorite; I thought it had an odd off flavor) and then the ceviche(tasted like they put ketchup in it...gross!) My family is Peruvian and we have friends who are Mexican...so to say the least, I love ceviche and have had it several different ways but I couldn't have been more excited and then sharply disappointed than I was with this dish. But with that said I and another member in my party ordered the Carne Asada and it was awesome! Very tender and well seasoned. I think everyone in the party were overly satisfied with their food and drinks."
