A word from Victor's
Victor's one of the most stylish restaurants in Provincetown and yet it’s so completely relaxed and fun-loving; it boasts a fresh-faced waitstaff, and one might at times think you’re dining in the Hampton's rather than Ptown. The decor is beachy in an urbane way. You have to book a table or else all bets are off. The best reason to love Victor’s is the food served tapas style, all plates are not only meant to be shared they should be. With a great raw bar happy hour that opens in summer at 3PM (oysters, shrimp, clams and crab claws $.99 each) and a very tanned and scrubbed up crowd, one should be an expert cocktailer and conversationalist if hanging at the bar. The wine list is on par with the best of towns lounges. Order tuna Napoleon, chopped salad, or enchiladas, then work your way through fish tacos and skirt steak. Victor himself is always there to make sure you're happy! Here is great food, superb eye-candy wait staff and friendly crowd that projects a country club feel.Continued

  • "After the usual greeting, the waiter explained that the menu consist of small plates and recommends 3-4 for each person. The food was excellent, however, ordering 5 plates for two people was far too much food for us. The bread basket (actually served on a pate) was excellent, especially the rosemary bread; the hummus with the bread was perfectly balanced and I could taste many of the individual flavors in it. Next we had the sweet potato french fries with a sweet marscapone dip, again excellent - the fries were crispy and cooked perfectly. The vegetable spring rolls were good and not overcooked; some of the vegetables crunchy, however, I found them very greasy; the dipping sauce was excellent. Filet was great and demi-glace very tasty."

  • "Have been many times to Victors and I find it hit or miss. I like it for the happy hour and raw bar; good scene. This round I was disappointed with a special crab and avocado salad. The crab tasted canned at best and I did not go further than one bite. Cesar salad is a little over dressed but I like the concept of the execution on keeping the romaine leaves whole. We had fish specials that were tasty but the chicken on the menu was boring and not very worth while."

  • "Considering it's one of the highest rated places on the entire cape, I was expecting a little more from the food. Nothing was "bad" at all, but some of the stuff, especially for a tapas place, was pretty middle-of-the-road. The Asian Skirt Steak, and the Mushroom Empanadas however, were amazing, and they make a mean Mojito. Our waiter was great, and the decor is really awesome and feels very at home in the beach atmosphere of Ptown, but the bar and dining room are basically the same room, and therefore a lot of the sound leaks into the smallish dining area. Still, despite my nitpicking, it was a very nice evening out! Thanks, Victor's!"

  • "Lovely Provincetown restaurant away from the hustle and bustle of Commercial St. Tapas menu with a large selection. Everything we ordered was a generous portion and delicious. We each ordered a glass of wine and it was a good sized glass not the usual 1/4 inch you get at most restaurants. I would highly recommend Victor's for an enjoyable meal."

  • "The food here was absolutely terrific. There were so many interesting dishes offered, I wished I had 2 stomachs! The mussels were out of this world, the "deconstructed ahi tuna" delicious, and the sage ricotta gnocci to die for. I really enjoyed this meal and the service and friendliness of the staff was amazing. And don't forget the interesting cocktails! Particularly the Blueberry Basil Mojito. Yummm....."

  • "I was expecting tapas (not my favorite) and was pleasantly surprised that the dishes were actually quite large and could have stood on their own as a meal. We started with the deconstructed tuna sashimi nachos followed by the flatbread pizza and the fish tacos. All really delicious. We could easily have stopped there but at the last minute we threw in a bread basket and were astounded at the really unique flavor of both the oil and the hummus. It was a great experience and certainly puts some of other pricier Provincetown eateries to shame! As soon as I got home I made two more reservations."

  • "Had dinner about a month after Victor's first opened and was very disappointed. Returned on Sat night and my expectations were definitely exceeded. The bar was crowded but we were served quickly and well. We were seated on our reservation time. Staff was friendly and the service was efficient and attentive which was a 180 degree turn around from previous experience. The crab and avocado salad and the fries were excellent and all the dishes were served at a nice pace. The pork sliders with barbecue sauce were the only disappointment. The pork was dry and tough and the barbecue sauce tasted like sweetened catsup with a little hot sauce. 4.5 stars - above average for recent Ptown dining experiences."

  • "The generous portions that are between tapas size and main course are a nice offering for trying multiple dishes. However, there was inconsistency in the quality of what we ordered. The crab and avocado appetizer was barely edible. The avocado was over-ripe and there was hardly and crab meat. The dressing was too runny. The enchiladas were very good as was the halibut but the orzo under it was too busy. Good overall but it seems the variety causes inconsistency. The noise level made conversation difficult but this is a hot spot in town."

Party of 4 and we shared 9 perfectly portioned delicious small plates. Attentive, fun servers rounded out a perfectly lovely evening. I am always satisfied with my experience.   • "My husband and I caught an early dinner at Victor's and loved every bite! We shared a few of the small plates, each one even more delicious than the next. Favorites were the deconstructed ahi tuna napoleon and large sea scallops on polenta rounds. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Our waiter was attentive without being obtrusive. The atmosphere was open, warm, lots of sunlight filling the room. I would highly recommend it!"

  • "We have been coming to the Cape for years and have found our favorite place to eat in Victors In Provincetown! Everything you would would hope to expect from the initial greeting from the friendly host to informative waiters, to efficient support staff to the most delicious food, our entire experience was amazing! The restaurant is a well oiled machine, where everyone is working in their various roles. People probably write when they have a negative experience, but that was definitely not the case at Victors! We were there on a Saturday which was packed but the restaurant was lively & energetic! Must try items: Blueberry basil martini, sizzling Asian Skirt steak,Saki muscles ever, and the biggest shrimp we've ever eaten!"

  • "We made a reservation on Opentable for an early dinner. When we arrived, the whole dining room was empty, but the host chose to seat us at the worst possible table, right in the high-traffic area next to the kitchen entrance. When we asked to move, he said that all other tables had been booked. When we asked how one could specify a table when booking, he wasn't able to answer except re-iterating that all the tables had been booked. We suspect that we were treated as second-class customers by booking last minute on Opentable. The rest of the dining experience was great - excellent food and very friendly service. It's a shame that all that was discounted by an unpleasant start. BTW, when we left, the place was still half empty..."

  • "The ambiance was nice and the restaurant was very popular. The best dish we had was the lobster risotto. The scallop special was overcooked and had a lot of sand in it. The fish tacos were mediocre overall, though the fish was tasty and fresh. The seafood cakes were decent, but not remarkable. We were unimpressed with the food overall."

  • "We arrived at 9 pm for a 9:15 reservation, the host told us we were early and we ultimately didn't get seated until 9:35. I don't know if he did it on purpose because we were asking how long it would be a couple of times and saw groups come in after us (with reservations after us) get seated. I don't know how they reserve tables there, the host kept saying our table was not getting up yet so it wasn't ready. Good thing for the food, that made up for our awful host experience. Short ribs was the best choice. The service industry should realize your front end ALWAYS makes the first impression. I could have easily given 5 stars just for the food. But people have to realize that Kindness matters!!"

Our adorable server made some awesome recommendations (the sweet potato fries are to die for) and the whole staff really went out of their way to make our experience wonderful. The portion size is HUGE, so I would suggest walking around town after feasting at Victor's!"

The extensive drinks menu includes a Vesper which is expertly crafted, and the lobster ravioli is spectacular, but the quality of the food is uneven - the vegetable rolls are bland, and the figs are wrapped in seriously under-cooked bacon."
