Diner Reviews
  • "We were disappointed that the first two bottles of wine that we tried to order, based on the wines listed on the iPad that the server provided, were not available. The 3rd attempt for a different wine was available. The short ribs that are on the menu were not available. The wine and food was very good. The desserts were fabulous."

  • "Had a very enjoyable dinner at Victor's Bistro. Stayed overnight in Florence, SC on a trip North. Searched for the top restaurant in Open Table and Trip Adviser. Not disappointed. Beautiful dining area, great service, and excellent food. Didn't expect to find a gem like that in a downtown area that has suffered in the downturn."

  • "The new restaurant is very nice. Unfortunately, our food was not good. Our steaks were either under or overcooked which ruined the meal. Won't be coming back."

  • "Victor's does not disappoint. Always enjoy dining there. Florence is lucky to have Victor's. Try to take company there whenever I can."

  • "Had a great meal. The restaurant was cold, several people kept their jackets on while eating. Not sure if that is unusual or the norm. Great atmosphere. Would go back."

  • "We were traveling between Florida and NC returning home from an annual vacation gathering and stopped in Florence SC to spend the evening with friends. We typically dine at Victor's Bistro because the service and food are consistent and very good. Lord willing we'll meet again next year!"

  • "Florence has not had a high-end restaurant for years. When Victor's moved downtown to the newly-renovating Evans Street area, they became the absolute gem of this part of South Carolina! One would have to drive to Charleston or Columbia to find something this nice. The ambience is renovated-old. The servers are cheerful and skilled. The food is wonderful. Expect to spend some money, but you will not regret your experience here!"

  • "A great place for lunch with friends or family. Food and service were excellent, will definitely dine here again. Next time will dine on the in the courtyard! Enjoyed myself!"

  • "Food was wonderful. We don't eat out often, so this was truly a special occasion for us. Our server, Chris, was attentive and helpful. We knew another server, Ryan, so we received better than the special service that we expect when fine dining! We asked for some intimate seating and were seated by the back door to the terrace on a busy, windy night. With apologies every time they opened the door on us, may we suggest a small screen or maybe moving that table? Everything else exceeded expectations."

  • "This was an excellent experience and I will definitely be coming back. Absolutely Outstanding!"

  • "We thought it was overpriced for what we got. The Caesar salad was OK with what seemed like out of the box croutons, the scallop appetizer was OK, and the vegetables were pretty good. The Filet was outstanding and so was the praline cheesecake AFTER the first bite of what seemed to be pecan shells. I almost broke a tooth! All in all, we would probably go again and try something else as the atmosphere was lovely."

  • "The bartenders were not even aware if you sat the before for a good 5 minutes. They need a better routine of how they should wait on customers!"

  • "Very nice dining experience overall. The service was excellent and the food was very good. No complaints. My wife and I were anticipating a menu item that was not availible but that was not an issue. Shellfish allergies were shared and the staff personnel were very receptive to our concerns. Will definately dine again..."

  • "I carried my wife here for Valentines Day and it was delicious. I ordered the 26 oz ribeye for $89.00 and it was very good but I was disappointed of the size of the bone. The bone was at least 10 inches long and takes up 10 to 12 oz of the meat. It was very good but don't think you are getting a 26oz steak. It wasn't worth the price. My wife had the filet and it was around $30 dollars and it was so much better than the $89 dollar ribeye. All in all it is probably the best place in Florence for a special occasion."

  • "We enjoyed a delightful evening celebrating two birthdays! The server--Chris--was outstanding!!! The Filet Mignon small plate was perfectly prepared (Pittsburgh) and absolutely delicious!"

  • "My husband and I went here with another couple. The food was really good but can tend to be on the pricy side when looking at some of the portions. Overall the experience was good, chic decorations and good atmosphere. Ordered a bottle of wine which was really good. However in researching the wine the actual bottle cost $12 if you were to purchase it yourself and we paid $24+tax (for one bottle) and we had two bottles!!! Thought that was a bit of a rip off. I think the total bill came to around $150 for the four of us. Good for a romantic feel."

  • "We drove one hour to enjoy a special birthday brunch for my husband. Staff was helpful and pleasant. Atmosphere quiet and enjoyable. Decor up to date. Food was average. Would not return unless in town, and maybe a meal other than brunch."

  • "Stopped here overnight en route to Fl. What a delightful find. Assumed we'd be stuck w the usual highway chains. This place was like finding a needle in a haystack."

  • "Absolutely the best restaurant in the Florence area A great menu, beautifully appointed ,supurb food and everything was done just right. The wait staff is very attentive and made us feel at home. We are from the restaurant capital of the world, New York but you can bet that when we are visiting our friends and family in SC we will sure be regulars at Victors."

  • "Ate at Victor's the Friday evening after Thanksgiving with a visiting relative. It was the best dining experience we have had in a very long time. Filet was extremely tender and cooked exactly as ordered. Food was perfectly seasoned and delivered to the table in a timely manner. Can't wait for our next visit!"

  • "We needed lunch on our way to Charleston and found a great local restaurant. The waiter and Vic made sure we were taken care of and our experience was excellent. The downtown area of Florence has seen better days but, the hotel is mid block and the restaurant is just inside towards the back and worth the trip! Parking is easy as many of the shops around the hotel/restaurant are out of business. We chose quiche but, a burger or sandwich looked good too."

  • "We went while visiting our daughter at Coker College. My wife, daughter and I loved it. We ate the cowboy ribeye and the pork chop entrees. The meats were cooked to perfection and the local collards, asparagus, and plantation rice sides were delicious. Our service was attentive."

  • "My mom and I went here for brunch on a Sunday and so glad we did! The service, food and ambience was wonderful! They give you biscuits and muffins and their portions are huge for very little money! I live in Charleston so I'm always eating brunch at well known places and I wish Victors was in Charleston! I will be back the time I'm in Florence!"

  • "Victor's has really stepped it up with this new location. We liked the old Victor's but the new decor and menu are really amazing. Our service was excellent as well."

  • "We made the reservation for lunch on Open Table, not knowing anything about the restaurant. We were so pleasantly surprised! Victor's Bistro is the restaurant in a lovely hotel. The decoration is super: very inviting and warm. The menu had good diversity and the service was friendly and efficient. We had the French onion and the she crab soups. They were very good, especially the latter. Then we had sandwiches: chicken salad and turkey club. Both were excellent. We really enjoyed the experience. We can recommend Victor's Bistro and hope to return when we are next in the area."

  • "I first visited Victor's back in June and the service and food were not worthy of the reviews I had seen previous. This visit was definitely a great one and I hope to return to Victor's very soon. My out of town guests requested to return as well. Thank you!"
