  • "The restaurant was beautiful and it had amazing views of the river, unfortunately we were stuck in the back. The fried green tomato blt with grits was a delicious southern treat!"

  • "My wife and I secured a last minute reservation at Vic's and we're not disappointed. We achieved the holy trinity of dining: great food (steak, salmon), great booze (Old Fashioned) and great service. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for an atmospheric night out."

  • "Good but not great. Service was excellent. Food was Ok. Enjoyed the night but would go elsewhere next time."

  • "A little disappointed with this trip to Vic's. The fried shrimp were not as good as in the past. Overcooked with too much spice in the batter,"

  • "We got there early but was seated about the15 after the res. They were busy. The hostess did comp us an app. The bigger issue was wife's streak ordered well done. It wasn't. It was a perfect med. The food was good and our server was great."

  • "We had dinner at Vic's on a Tuesday evening. We sat down at 6:45 or so at a nice table with a view of the river and South Carolina across the water. The restaurant was half full at most but, by the time we left at about 8:00, the place was full and the noise level had gone way up. My panko encrusted fish entree' was just fine. My friend had two small plates and reported that they were also just fine. There are restaurants in the city with better, more exciting fare (Sapphire Grill, Elizabeth, e.g.) but Vic's has location going for it and really is the best you can hope for in the middle of the river front tourist area."

  • "A great place for dining and/or just drinks with friends or a romantic dining experience."

  • "Food was okay. Overpriced, southern-style menu...Comparable to Cracker Barrel for a fraction of the cost. Service was excellent and the venue was stylish. The tomato bisque soup was tasty and had a delightful kick to it."

  • "We had crab cakes and pecan crusted flounder. Both were above average. Great dining experience from homemade biscuits to delicious homemade salad dressings."

  • "I made Friday 7:30pm dinner reservations and, based on input from other reviewers about the restaurant's noise level, I requested a table in a location that was not too noisy. My husband and I were seated in a perfect location next to a window along Bay Street view and noise was no problem at all. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and she did not rush us as we like to enjoy a nice, relaxed dinner when we are on vacation. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, shared a cobb salad and the pecan crusted flounder which were all prepared perfectly. I definitely recommend this restaurant to those visiting Savannah."

  • "We have dined at Vic's before and will do so again, but not on a Friday night. The place was packed. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation and were left standing by the bar for 25 min. The food we had was good, but it was not what had been described to us. After waiting for the table and the food we did not want to send it back and wait. Our server did apologize when we pointed it out."

  • "Had a great time except the food blandness. Don't mean spicy. Chef forgot seasoning of the seafood dishes. Scallops undercooked. Cost of my entrée alone$30. We'll come back and try a lunch next time."

  • "It probably isn't the first place you would choose to eat at in Savannah, but the food was great! Everything we tried, from the appetizers, to the entree and finally dessert was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and made some great recommendations. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a great meal for a very reasonable price."

  • "fantastic taste of southern food. Service was fantastic, appetizers we delicious. Fried green tomatoes were great, we had hush puppies as appetizer and loved them. I had the crab cakes and they were all crab meat, great dish"

  • "My family of four people - ranging in age from Grandmother to teenager - really enjoyed this restaurant. We made a reservation well in advance to ensure a nice spot. We had a great table right next to the window. We started with Crawfish Beignets and Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers, Hot biscuits, Tomato Bisque, Baby Tuscan Kale Salad - all delicious. We also tried the Shrimp & Grits, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and Seafood Pirlau - all perfect. Having dined at many restaurants on frequent visits to Savannah, this is one of the better places, where the quality actually justifies the prices, and it isn't just a tourist trap."

  • "We had the meatloaf and the salmon. Both were prepared spectacularly. The biscuits served with the meal are also delicious. And the honey butter is the perfect accompaniment. We will be back!"

  • "Food quality was good, portions were small for the price. I ordered fried flounder with a sausage hash which consisted of a few barely warm hash browns with 1 slice of sausage. Flounder was excellent, but no better than a good fish shack at a fraction of the price. Ambiance was good. I would try another Savannah restaurant before I went back."

  • "I made the reservation a week ahead and requested a river view because it was a special occasion. We were cheerfully accommodated. Our server was excellent, even nailing my slightly complicated cocktail order. We had a beef carpaccio appetizer which was super flavorful, then I had tomato bisque followed by the best scallops I have ever had. Rounded it out with sweet potato crème brulee which sounds good but tastes even better. I told my dining companion we had to come back every time I was in Savannah. Highly recommended."

  • "On our first visit to Savannah, this restaurant was highly recommend by friends & relatives. It lived up to the reputation. We bother ordered the Pecan Crusted Flounder and found it to be very tasty. If there was a negative to our experience it was the location of our table. I would highly recommend asking for a table in one of the side rooms. We were seated in the front part of the main entrance area...facing Bay Street. The bar was behind us. The "noise" from the entertainer was outrageously loud. Unfortunately she did not take a break while we were seated. I suppose it would have been tolerable if the musician was, at a minimum, talented."

  • "We ordered steaks 3 not one was cooked M. Rare all were medium sent back ... when they came back still not right ... baked potatoes were hard.... very disappointed ... we were not offer a refund or even any type of discount our bill was 300 plus with tip.. Expensive treat for our dogs that where it went .. in a doggie bag ..... we won't be going back there !!! And we live in Savannah !!!"

  • "The crab cakes are incredible. We started with the fried green tomatoes that are perfect to share with another person: light and full of flavor. The sauce is wonderful. The crab cakes sit on risotto that is wonderful and my dining companion had the grits with shrimp, which she loved. The waitress was attentive and helpful in making our selections, but didn't hover. The host accommodated our wish for a window table. The bar looked busy but not too noisy. Overall, a wonderful experience."

  • "We had dinner for two with a reservation at745pm showed up early and we were given at able right away! Sat in between two windows and could see out windows by leaning back. There is also a balcony you can go out to look at the riverfront. We ordered the fried calamari as a app, shrimp and grits for me and the scallops for my boyfriend. Everything was outstanding!!!"

  • "I took my wife here to eat while in Savannah for vacation and it was our favorite. Our server was phenomenal when it came to customer service, friendliness and knowledge of the menu and wine. The piano player, Dianna, was exactly what we wanted for a night out in Savannah. She made the night perfect, she is "Savannah" to the core. The food was delicious. My wife had tears in her eyes when we left so I know I did good! Thank you Vic's for an unforgettable dinner in a beautiful city! -Jim Novosel"

  • "Vic's on the River was a great choice for a romantic dinner. Service was excellent and timely. Food was rated a 4 out of 5. Strip steak was a little tough. Green beans and shrimp were very good. I would eat here again and recommend for first time visitors to Savannah."

  • "Great location. Bar is excellent & vibrant. Food good. Baked oysters-appetizer was excellent. Waitress-Mary was knowledgeable & pleasant. Good restaurant for group. Too loud for quiet dinner. History bluffs would love the building."

  • "Food was just ok. Same quality of food as most higher end chain restaurants, just more expensive (21 dollars for shrimp and grits???). Oh and the shrimp were not devained. GF had the shrimp and grits and i had the ribeye steak entree. Rib eye was cooked as ordered and no issues there. Great wine selection, atmosphere and decor to start off a great romantic evening. (I think the expensive food is to make up for the atmoshpere IMO)."

  • "Had one of the most delicious meals here. Sat at one of the bar tops facing the river. Our server was knowledgable and very attentive. The food, was fantastic-- had a fish special and was in food heaven. Would definitely recommend for a date night spot"

  • "Our reservations were set for 6:45 PM and we were seated promptly. Our appetizers consisted of chicken livers and beef carpaccio. Both were excellent, in fact, the beef carpaccio was among the best I had ever eaten. Our entrees were the shrimp and grits and organic roasted chicken. Again, both were excellent and we were both very satisfied. Service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable."

  • "This was my husbands first visit to Savannah, I grew up in Georgia and have been to Savannah numerous times. This was a wonderful first-visit spot for dinner. We had a beautiful view of the river and one of the best waiters I have ever had. He was truly stellar and contributed to the entire experience. We so enjoyed our evening. The Old Fashions were outstanding!"

  • "Food was very good, service very attentive. We sat on the main floor, which we felt was just too noisy. Would prefer a quieter atmosphere. Did not know it would be like this or would have requested a table on a different floor. Would go back if we could have a quieter atmosphere. If you don't mind the noise, it's a great place! Bar was hopping!!!"

  • "We went to Vic's on our last night in Savannah. It came highly recommended by several people and lived up to it's reputation! The food was amazing, service was very attentive and the atmosphere was both "old south" and "hip". Definitely will be back again!!"

  • "Was expecting high quality from Vic's but doesn't have a great ambience and very bright lighting so not the best. Was nice to have live music in the bar, but food was average."

  • "We had a fantastic time here celebrating our 30th anniversary. Window view, great food and the perfect touch of service. Vic;s was recommended by folks that loved us. We felt so special and spoiled by our waitress. Perfect timing, fantastic food and a special treat for us to enjoy from the staff. Amazing! Wonder why there was a wedding,a proposal and multiple anniversary celebrations at Vic's all on the same night? This is the place for special occasions."
