  • "Visit our daughter in Savannah often and she always picks Vic's for a great dinner"
    Dined on 7/27/2014
  • "I lived in Savannah several years ago and have eaten at most of the upscale places, except Vic's. Upon arrival the restaurant was extremely packed so as a result we had a very cramped table, and it was extremely loud and hot. My legs were sticking to my dress the entire meal. I ordered the scallop dish and my husband ordered the pork chops. Both dishes were very good. Service was so-so. I am a server myself so I forgave our server for not being as personable as I would have been, because they were extremely busy and sometimes there just isn't time for it, but I did appreciate her technical serving skills. My only real complaint was that I ordered a $12.00 glass of wine and it was an extremely small pour. Overall we had a good time."

  • "Second year in a row of a perfect meal! Fried green tomato goat cheese appetizer was incredible! Perfectly, lightly fried shrimp, and shrimp n grits were delicious as well. Awesome lunch. Nice that they serve all afternoon and don't cut off lunch service at 2:30 like other places. Great river view too."

  • "We used Open Table to find a good restaurant to eat at while in Savannah, and we're so glad we chose Vic's! We're from California, and wanted upscale Southern fare. Everything we ordered from Vic's was delicious - from the fried green tomato appetizer to the shrimp and grits! My mom ordered the key lime martini which tasted exactly like a delicious, fresh key lime pie! The view is spectacular; this place really is "on the river," but tables are limited by the windows so we recommend getting an early reservation or making one ASAP! We will definitely be coming back next time we roll through Savannah!"

  • "Vic' was a nice restaurant and perfectly situated off Bay and River. Food was good, waitstaff was very attentive and helpful. Wife ordered shrimp & grits, I ordered the Tile fish; both dishes along with the calamari appetizer were good. Appetizer came quickly, food took a very long time (60+mins to hit the table). Overall experience was good, only real downside was the piano player in the bar area... On my next visit I will definitely request a table as far from the bar as possible. If available I recommend a table on the 4th floor Dieter Room."

  • "My wife and I had an excellent 10th Anniversary at Vic's! Mary was our server and was superb in all aspects. The table was perfect in a location in the corner allowing a nice view of the restaurant, the river, and to hear background piano music from the bar. I had the beef carpaccio appetizer, roasted tomato bisque with crab, and the jumbo sea scallops. Vic's had put together a beautiful plat recognizing and celebrating our anniversary. Well done!"

  • "Friday evening dinner. Reservations with opentacle. Meal was delicious, service was prompt and helpful. Great for a special occasion. Was a little noisy but overall a great experience."

  • "The service was fair (food was timely, we were checked on periodically, water glasses were made a priority), but our server (brunette, seemingly in her 30s) wasn't very engaging. We were kinda on our own. We weren't given any spiel or explanation of the menu. The server in the section next to us had a 6 top, and he seemed very thorough and charming. I actually listened in on his spiel to try to get a better idea of the place (worked Friday night, dark skin, may have had an earring--pat that guy on the back). Crawfish beignets were good. The vinaigrette on our salads was oily and lacked flavor. My flounder was perfectly crispy yet bland. My boyfriend's New York strip was overcooked. The andouille hash was great, but was just a garnish/side."

  • "We had a little trouble getting to our reserved table, but Reggie was so great about keeping us updated on the status and check on us regularly and even comped us an appetizer for having to wait so long."

  • "I'm so happy that the pink place was booked because we happened upon Vic's on the River. The Shrimp and Grits were the best I'd ever had and I've have plenty of shrimps and plenty grits cross my path over the years. The staff really made the meal. I've worked in restaurants and I could tell that these folks enjoy what they do. We were honored to be waited on by Jason. He was one of a kind and really made our evening special. Make this a stop while you're in town!"

  • "If you are in Savannah and want southern food with top service and a terrific view, Vic's is a must. It's upscale but not snobby, and the atmosphere is lively without being too loud. We ordered the meatloaf and the horseradish encrusted salmon and both were delicious. The biscuits were amazing and we would have taken a box of them home if we could. From start to finish, the service was excellent. We were seated immediately and from then on, our waitress was attentive without smothering and our water glasses stayed full. We only had time for one meal during our visit Ann's I'm glad we chose Vic's. Can't wait to go back some day!"

  • "Unbelievable. Best meal ever in Savannah. Been to Savannah three times and this was best dinner. Jason was our waiter...honestly, the best wait staff experience we've ever had in any city. He was simply REMARKable."

  • "We went here for our anniversary based on recommendation of our Footprints tour guide. So glad we did. Had a table overlooking the river and that was romantic. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. The food here is fantastic. For starters, we had fried green tomatoes and the crawfish beignets. Both were very tasty. The flounder tasted like it had just been caught, it was so fresh. The chocolate mousse cake is to die for. The plate on which it was served was a work of art. We had a wonderful dining experience and would recommend it to friends and strangers alike."

  • "My husband and I visited Savannah for our anniversary. I found Vic's through Google and figured we'd give it a shot. We ended up loving our experience! The food was amazing and the service was great even though they were very busy. Views of the river were spectacular. I would recommend Vic's to anyone traveling to Savannah. We enjoyed it so much more than the "top" restaurant that was recommended to us by friends and our hotel concierge! We'll definitely return."

  • "Went to Vic's to celebrate our 31st Anniversary, had a wonderful time. The couple next to us was celebrating their 50th - our waitress offered to take pictures of both couples out on the balcony, with the river and sunset in the background - which gave us a nice memento of our celebration. We had the Chef's special (Lamb Chops and Pork Belly) and the Seafood Pirlau - both were excellent! The evening could have been very romantic (candlelight, cocktails) except that it was very busy which made it very noisy. Other than the noise level, the evening was just what we expected - looking forward to coming back next year for our 32nd!"

  • "We eat here every time we come to Savannah. We had our dinner rehearsal here back in 2008. The food was no as good as it has been in the past. Still good but not outstanding as in the past."

  • "We would dine here again. Vic's was one of our dining highlights in Savannah."

  • "Made a last minute reservation at Vic's and was glad we did. Quickly seated at a great window table overlooking the Savannah River. I eat fried food maybe 4 times a year and it's always the same: shrimp and oysters. I live in Charleston so I know good seafood. Wife got shrimp and I got oysters and we shared. Lightly breaded, perfectly cooked, both were superb and went well with a fine Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine. Professional and courteous service. Nice interior space with plenty of room. A little loud but not overwhelming. I recommend this restaurant but make reservations; couple who came in the same at us waited about 45 minutes to be seated."

  • "This was my 3rd or 4th trip to Vic's for lunch and in the past the food has always been great. This time, I brought some business associates visiting from Charleston and the food and service was only "good, at best". My guest were not impressed."

  • "My Husband and I were celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary. We had made reservations and the Hostess was very accommodating and sat us at a romantic table with a river view. The fried green tomatoes, scallops, and clams were amazing!! The service was very attentive and prompt. The only down side, there was a table next to us and one child kept getting up and down to go stand and look out our window. I know that's a parental control issue and not your fault. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit and will look forward to dining with you in the future."

  • "I've been working in hospitality as a Guest Service Representative and Concierge for two years and every guest I have sent to Vic's has LOVED their experiences. It warms my heart that Vic's treats my guests so well and gives them a meal they won't easily forget. :)"

  • "We were looking for a place to try some Savannah seafood and Vic's fit the bill. Everything we tried was good and some dishes rose to excellent. The crab cakes are really amazing as were the scallops. I highly recommend Vic's for a great dinner right on the river."

  • "Made a reservation on open table and noted it was for our 23rd anniversary and restaurant gave us a nice table with view of the river and a beautiful complimentary desert decorated with "Happy Anniversary" on the plate. The food and service we're both excellent and they made us feel special. The piano jazz singer Dianne was also great and provided a nice ambiance. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a romantic dinner and excellent southern gourmet seafood dinner."

  • "First visit to Vic's in the River and will not be our last! Enjoyed everything about it! Thankful to live here in Savannah so we can come back often-don't quite know what took is so long but happy we did!"

  • "Vic's was hands down the best meal we had in Savannah. The atmosphere with the beautiful view of the river ( request a view when you make reservations) the yummy food and the excellent service make it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a night out. The shrimp and grits were sooooo good! This is where we will dine whenever we visit savannah!"

  • "My son, his wife and I went to the restaurant Vic's on the River in Savannah, what a terrible mistake and horrible experience: everything was cold, the shrimps were unveined, the chicken had no flavor, the mash potatoes was something gray with no flavor, as well as the rest of the dishes. We asked for the manager and a gentleman came and after hear our complain just made a face and disappear, then the waiter a funny guy but not well trained told us that we will have a 20% discount in the bill what was not what we were expecting particularly cause the night before we had a great dinner at Local 1110 where including tips (I tipped the nice waitress and the chef) we spent near $ 500.00. A tourist place not interested in service and good food."

  • "First night in Savannah. Nice dinner, our waiter was great. We enjoyed and had fun along with the table beside ours and yet he was very professional and responsive to our needs. We enjoy fine dining but it doesn't have to be stuffy!"

  • "The scenic view is why you make reservations at Vic's. If you ask your server nicely they'll take your picture on the balcony outside overlooking River St. The crab cakes are delicious! I wish I would have ordered the full meal rather than only the appetizer portion. Our server was very personable. Overall, the scenic view is why you make reservations at Vic's. If it is your first time in Savannah, I recommend trying Vic's on the River."

  • "Food was good, although nothing particularly special. Menu was on par with just about every other restaurant in Savannah. First seated inside, where you feel right on top of other diners but somehow extremely far away from the rest of your party. After ordering drinks we asked to be moved outside, which was much more calm and felt much more intimate. Would not dine their again if I was to be seated inside, would do so sitting outside, but would not go out of the way for it."

  • "Very nice place to have dinner or lunch. Also great for couples or groups. We stayed within walking distance. We also had a wonderful walk on the river front before dinner at Vic's"

  • "Our waiter was spectacular. Granddaughter needed gluten free and he facilitated that perfectly. Our table was very nice with water view as requested. However, the rib eye steak was unacceptable. Should have sent both meals back just a bad cut of meat. To avoid our guests being inconvenienced, we did not ask for an exchange. The lump crab meat was excellent as was the kale salad."
