The view of the river was beautiful and we enjoyed being able to go out onto the balcony. The server was very polite and informative and met all of our needs. The food was fantastic! We will be regular visitors to Savannah, as our daughter is starting college this fall, so we will definately be returning to dine again. Kudos to our server Jerod. My dinner was very good- Southern Carbonara. It tasted rich without feeling too heavy afterward. The peach trio dessert is a must. My companion got a filet and it was pretty tiny. It's not a steak restaurant and I'd go for a southern dish instead.
The ambience is lovely- clean and bright. We were there on prom night so there were lots of kids and a good bit of noise outside. It was a great place right at the river market. We loved the menu choices and the prices were good, as well. Our server was charning and friendly and provided great service. It was my first time dining at Vic's and we were both extremely satisfied with our dining experience. As a server myself, I feel that the menu was well suited to the restaurant. Our server was very knowledgable and sold me on the mahi mahi special. My mother had the scallops, which she said were cooked to perfection. Complements to the chef! The staff was very professional, however the hostess I must say was not very inviting or pleasant. We stopped using a certain "upscale" hotel when it took 45 minutes to bring breakfast, no apology and we had a plane to catch and had told them. Never at Vics. Lance, our server was really good. Food, well my complaint is you get too much, then because it's sooo good, you eat too much, but that's a common thing in the south outside Atl - large portions I mean. There was entertainment, view if the river and a congenial group, so the time went quickly. We had asked for seating with a view of the river, but said we certainly understood those were prime locations. The lovely hostess did find a perfect spot for us. Probably the best seat in the house!
Our server was excellent. We had a bit of a problem finding the best 1/2 bottle of wine to order because they were out of several choices, but our server was helpful and knowledgeable.
We were in no rush, although we were dining late, but the waiter paced all of our courses perfectly.
The evening was very enjoyable.
