  • "fantastic taste of southern food. Service was fantastic, appetizers we delicious. Fried green tomatoes were great, we had hush puppies as appetizer and loved them. I had the crab cakes and they were all crab meat, great dish"

  • "My family of four people - ranging in age from Grandmother to teenager - really enjoyed this restaurant. We made a reservation well in advance to ensure a nice spot. We had a great table right next to the window. We started with Crawfish Beignets and Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers, Hot biscuits, Tomato Bisque, Baby Tuscan Kale Salad - all delicious. We also tried the Shrimp & Grits, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and Seafood Pirlau - all perfect. Having dined at many restaurants on frequent visits to Savannah, this is one of the better places, where the quality actually justifies the prices, and it isn't just a tourist trap."

  • "We had the meatloaf and the salmon. Both were prepared spectacularly. The biscuits served with the meal are also delicious. And the honey butter is the perfect accompaniment. We will be back!"

  • "Food quality was good, portions were small for the price. I ordered fried flounder with a sausage hash which consisted of a few barely warm hash browns with 1 slice of sausage. Flounder was excellent, but no better than a good fish shack at a fraction of the price. Ambiance was good. I would try another Savannah restaurant before I went back."

  • "I made the reservation a week ahead and requested a river view because it was a special occasion. We were cheerfully accommodated. Our server was excellent, even nailing my slightly complicated cocktail order. We had a beef carpaccio appetizer which was super flavorful, then I had tomato bisque followed by the best scallops I have ever had. Rounded it out with sweet potato crème brulee which sounds good but tastes even better. I told my dining companion we had to come back every time I was in Savannah. Highly recommended."

  • "On our first visit to Savannah, this restaurant was highly recommend by friends & relatives. It lived up to the reputation. We bother ordered the Pecan Crusted Flounder and found it to be very tasty. If there was a negative to our experience it was the location of our table. I would highly recommend asking for a table in one of the side rooms. We were seated in the front part of the main entrance area...facing Bay Street. The bar was behind us. The "noise" from the entertainer was outrageously loud. Unfortunately she did not take a break while we were seated. I suppose it would have been tolerable if the musician was, at a minimum, talented."

  • "We ordered steaks 3 not one was cooked M. Rare all were medium sent back ... when they came back still not right ... baked potatoes were hard.... very disappointed ... we were not offer a refund or even any type of discount our bill was 300 plus with tip.. Expensive treat for our dogs that where it went .. in a doggie bag ..... we won't be going back there !!! And we live in Savannah !!!"

  • "The crab cakes are incredible. We started with the fried green tomatoes that are perfect to share with another person: light and full of flavor. The sauce is wonderful. The crab cakes sit on risotto that is wonderful and my dining companion had the grits with shrimp, which she loved. The waitress was attentive and helpful in making our selections, but didn't hover. The host accommodated our wish for a window table. The bar looked busy but not too noisy. Overall, a wonderful experience."

  • "We had dinner for two with a reservation at745pm showed up early and we were given at able right away! Sat in between two windows and could see out windows by leaning back. There is also a balcony you can go out to look at the riverfront. We ordered the fried calamari as a app, shrimp and grits for me and the scallops for my boyfriend. Everything was outstanding!!!"

  • "I took my wife here to eat while in Savannah for vacation and it was our favorite. Our server was phenomenal when it came to customer service, friendliness and knowledge of the menu and wine. The piano player, Dianna, was exactly what we wanted for a night out in Savannah. She made the night perfect, she is "Savannah" to the core. The food was delicious. My wife had tears in her eyes when we left so I know I did good! Thank you Vic's for an unforgettable dinner in a beautiful city! -Jim Novosel"

  • "Vic's on the River was a great choice for a romantic dinner. Service was excellent and timely. Food was rated a 4 out of 5. Strip steak was a little tough. Green beans and shrimp were very good. I would eat here again and recommend for first time visitors to Savannah."

  • "Great location. Bar is excellent & vibrant. Food good. Baked oysters-appetizer was excellent. Waitress-Mary was knowledgeable & pleasant. Good restaurant for group. Too loud for quiet dinner. History bluffs would love the building."

  • "Food was just ok. Same quality of food as most higher end chain restaurants, just more expensive (21 dollars for shrimp and grits???). Oh and the shrimp were not devained. GF had the shrimp and grits and i had the ribeye steak entree. Rib eye was cooked as ordered and no issues there. Great wine selection, atmosphere and decor to start off a great romantic evening. (I think the expensive food is to make up for the atmoshpere IMO)."

  • "Our reservations were set for 6:45 PM and we were seated promptly. Our appetizers consisted of chicken livers and beef carpaccio. Both were excellent, in fact, the beef carpaccio was among the best I had ever eaten. Our entrees were the shrimp and grits and organic roasted chicken. Again, both were excellent and we were both very satisfied. Service was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable."

  • "Food was very good, service very attentive. We sat on the main floor, which we felt was just too noisy. Would prefer a quieter atmosphere. Did not know it would be like this or would have requested a table on a different floor. Would go back if we could have a quieter atmosphere. If you don't mind the noise, it's a great place! Bar was hopping!!!"

  • "We went to Vic's on our last night in Savannah. It came highly recommended by several people and lived up to it's reputation! The food was amazing, service was very attentive and the atmosphere was both "old south" and "hip". Definitely will be back again!!"

  • "Was expecting high quality from Vic's but doesn't have a great ambience and very bright lighting so not the best. Was nice to have live music in the bar, but food was average."

  • "We had a fantastic time here celebrating our 30th anniversary. Window view, great food and the perfect touch of service. Vic;s was recommended by folks that loved us. We felt so special and spoiled by our waitress. Perfect timing, fantastic food and a special treat for us to enjoy from the staff. Amazing! Wonder why there was a wedding,a proposal and multiple anniversary celebrations at Vic's all on the same night? This is the place for special occasions."

  • "We dined during Savannah'sResturant Week special meal. Both of our entrees were excellent, we had the Mahi-Mahi and Pork Tenderloin. The desserts were a huge disappointment. ( Had the "Cheesecake crepe", it was a poorly made Blintz! Love Vic's for well prepared good food, but they don't seem to really understand desserts."

  • "I have often eaten at Vic's On the River for lunch, but have never been able to obtain a reasonable reservation time on the weekend evenings because I usually wait too late to make them. This time, I made them well in advance and was not disappointed - great fixed price and ala carte menus."

  • "We were seated too close to the pianist and she sang too loud. Only thing about the evening we did not enjoy. Our waiter was wonderful. Best service we have had in a while."

  • "Our Friday evening at Vic's was a memorable dining experience. I specifically asked a for river view in my reservation, and we were seated in the main dining room overlooking the river. Our food was excellent. We ordered from the $30 prix fixe menu and were delighted with our appetizers and entrees; I especially enjoyed the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin which was tender and moist. The sauces with all of our courses were excellent. They complemented the main dishes while retaining unique qualities of their own. The only drawback to the evening was the quality of the deserts themselves; an individual ramekin of cake was a bit overdone and dry. Our server was attentive and helpful with suggestions. A wonderful night for our anniversary dinner."

  • "I love the new valet service at Vic's. The valet himself was also very friendly, pleasant, and efficient and it was only a $5.00 fee (we tipped him too). The staff at the restaurant is excellent (despite being 20 minutes late for our reservation they seated us immediately - of course we did call to tell them). Our waiter, Rashaird provided the most amazing service (never let our water get too low - a pet peeve of mine - or our wine), clearing any unneeded dishes immediately, etc, etc. Perfect 5-STAR service. AND, he was very friendly, personable, funny, and extremely helpful without losing site of the fact we were celebrating our evening. And, although the food portions are a little light for the Restaurant week, it was very tasty!"

  • "We came to Savannah to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We chose Vic's on the River for our anniversary dinner based on reviews and the availability of viewing the menu online. We requested a table by the window so we could sit and watch the river while we ate (and being four floors up you don't have to worry about people walking by watching you eat). We arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated at our table by the window. Our server Jason was friendly and made sure our needs were taken care of. The food was outstanding (even the complimentary dessert). The view was incredible and the service was amazing. Vic's on the River is a top choice for a romantic/special occasion dining experience."

  • "My husband and I went celebrated our 9 year anniversary yesterday with a lunch date. The atmosphere was amazing, the service was outstanding and the food was out of this world. I do have to mention the dessert. The dessert we got was the Praline Berry Basket. The outside of this was a pecan praline basket that was filled with vanilla bean ice cream topped with homemade whipped cream and fresh berries, served on a bed of chocolate and berry cream sauce. The dessert was out of this world and I will (have) told everyone about this amazing delicacy. Vic’s is an outstanding gem that combines great food, service and southern hospitality; I personally cannot wait until my next meal there."

  • "I was concerned this place would be too touristy but that was not the case. We were here during restaurant week and the prixe fixed menu was fantastic with great options. We all loved our meals and the restaurant has a nice upscale feel to it."

  • "I lived in Savannah several years ago and have eaten at most of the upscale places, except Vic's. Upon arrival the restaurant was extremely packed so as a result we had a very cramped table, and it was extremely loud and hot. My legs were sticking to my dress the entire meal. I ordered the scallop dish and my husband ordered the pork chops. Both dishes were very good. Service was so-so. I am a server myself so I forgave our server for not being as personable as I would have been, because they were extremely busy and sometimes there just isn't time for it, but I did appreciate her technical serving skills. My only real complaint was that I ordered a $12.00 glass of wine and it was an extremely small pour. Overall we had a good time."
