VicolettoDine About Town FindWe tried this place because it was close to Beach Blanket Babylon theater, was part of the dine about town event, and had the best menu of the options in North Beach. Was a bit disappointed to find that not everything listed on the "Dine About Town" menu was on the actual menu when we arrived - but still some fantastic choices. The Zucchini chips were phenomenal, as well as the meatballs. My mom had the salmon - and it was perfectly done. I had the lobster ravioli - and it too was pretty darn good. The panne cotta for dessert was amazing.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and serviceOutstanding burrata and house made pasta. Very attentive wait staff6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mozzarella! The mozzarella appetizer was wonderful. Soft, melt in your mouth.
Loved the lobster ravioli, too6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't say enough good aboutCan't say enough good about the place. Fantastic food with a very inexpensive wine list which tasted far better than the price point. The service was great: waiters had personality and skill, manager checked on our party of four twice, and the new-hire bartender tried her best and got help when she needed it. The food is legit Italian but they will Americanize if you ask.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighbourhood gemGreat wait staff and an interesting menu. Good location and had a window seat which was great for viewing inside and out. Lovely foo.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Italian, Moderate pricesWe reserved a table at Vicoletto because it was a short walk to Beach Blanket Babylon.
Excellent genuine Italian food- doesn't feel like a tourist trap at all.
The Italian waiter recommended a perfect bottle of Italian wine for our meal.
Reasonable prices (for San Francisco.) The mozzarella appetizer was huge- plenty for 4.
Loved the zucchini starter also. Gnocchi with sausage was decadent.
Fresh salmon excellent; also our guest loved the squid ink pasta dish with seafood.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent foodWent with a large group. Everyone loved their food. Only negative was the acoustics made it a little loud and seemed like they could use an extra server or two.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat North Beach spot!I've been to Vicoletto twice now and it truly is a gem in a sea of over-priced, over-sauced Italian food that is North Beach. I found it searching for Italian food without the touristy prices and crowds in my neighborhood, and it absolutely fit the bill, and surpassed my expectations. The food is delicious and the service is always very nice. I can see this place becoming a staple on my top restaurants list!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find, delicious foodGreat menu, traditional Italian fare
Highly recommend5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSurpriseHad never heard of this place. Not One Market in terms of ambiance, but food and service were awesome. Lasagna is always the true test of an Italian rest for me. This was the best I have ever had. If you want great food in a small and comfortable atmosphere, this is the place4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat atmosphere, good food, great atmosphere, good food, nice place, knowledgeable servers.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here with a groupWe went here with a group of 24 people on a Sunday night. It was easy to make reservations and when we arrived everything was ready for us. It is a small restaurant with a small wait staff but was surprised at how efficient Antonio, the waiter, was with our large group and surprised at how fast the food was ready. We took up the majority of the restaurant. The dim lighting and surrounding were great and the food was excellent. Every dish that we had was really good and got to try several of my friends different dishes that were also excellent. Then came the bill which I was shocked at how inexpensive it was. By far one of my favorite dinners while in San Francisco with all of my friends. Absolutely don't miss this one with a group!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed theWe thoroughly enjoyed the dinner when we received it! The table service was good, the staff was hustling the whole time. It seemed the slow down was in the kitchen. We will definitely return to experience the delicious food.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile I would not say thisWhile I would not say this restaurant is a great place to take kids, we did. There is no kids menu but the staff was happy to suggest some alternative dishes for our kids. The food is excellent and I think it's likely a lovely place for a romantic meal. While the staff welcomed us, if you take kids, take them early since most patrons are probably expecting a quiet, chaos-free meal.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMVicoletto hosted us for aVicoletto hosted us for a 13 person birthday party. We had a large table in a semi private room. We were surrounded by walls lined with fantastic wine. The food was fantastic, except since we started dinner so late they were out of a couple of dishes and our first choice in wine. It was very busy upstairs so our service was a bit slow. Only other negative would be the lack of a full bar. I probably wouldn't have booked the reservation had I known that. The wine list was fantastic, we ordered a few bottles and really enjoyed the choices. All in all, Vicoletto was a great place to celebrate.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were very good. Friendly staff.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's a GEM!!Outstanding in every way! Our waiter was a gem, the food tasted wonderful. The waiter recommended the burrata...creamy and exceptional. The gnocchi was the best we ever have tasted. They offer gluten free pasta which was light and flavorful. We will be a repeat customer any time we are in town.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMVicoletto's food was great,Vicoletto's food was great, and they seated us as a large group in a semi-private wine cellar. It was the perfect setting to catch up with a big table - we had a fabulous time!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
