Diner Reviews
  • "You almost need to hear about this restaurant from a friend. No outside signage in the hotel related restaurant. Well appointed dining space. Creative dishes prepared with attention to detail. Reasonably priced. Looking forward to return trips to try additional fare."

  • "Viceroy Grille is extremely fortunate to have Chef Leo as he is a fabulous Chef! Also.....he saved the evening because service was slow and off....Chef Leo made a special effort to help facilitate the dinning experience."

  • "Please see my review on Urban Spoon. Mediocre food. Horrible service. Loud. Formica table tops with no linens. Overheard table next to ours say to their waiter "Please--we are trying to eat here--go away!" Will never go back and will discourage all friends. What a waste."

  • "Viceroy Grille is the most elegant restaurants in Oklahoma City. What a very lovely time we had with friends. The roasted quinoa on the salmon was crispy goodness."

  • "This was a great experience. A place to go that is quiet with awesome food. The service was wonderful! Nice meal with a nice atmosphere. Will be going back!"

  • "The food was good, not great. My husband is allergic to pine nuts. Fortunately, he noticed the pine nuts before he ate his entrée. It was not on the menu nor did the waitress know that they were in his food. I really felt that the prices were too high."

  • "Had a fun night out with my daughters and decided to try the Viceroy. Excellent choice - we started with a chef's special appetizer, the Ceviche, and it was amazing, we also had the fried okra that was delicious as well. Then we ordered the Sea Bass, also the chef's special, the Shrimp Liguine and the Macaroni and cheese, we proceeded to share each dish and everything was very good. The chef came out to the table a couple of times to make sure all was well and that was a very nice touch! Service was great. Very fun and friendly atmosphere. Will happily go back. Also went up to the rooftop bar and had another pleasant experience there."

  • "Food was average. Rooftop bar was very nice and a good place for a drink with friends. I felt that the food was only average but was expensive enough it should have been excellent. I had a beef tenderloin that was very tender but almost tasteless. Menu is limited. Asked the waiter about one of the meals offered and he had no idea."

  • "4 of us dined and all were impressed with the ambience....quiet, clean, ever-present but not intrusive wait staff. Food was hot, fresh, presented well. 2 of us had the prime rib special and it was perfect. The remaining 2 had the turkey club and both commented on the fact that the turkey club was perfect."

  • "The Viceroy Grill is nestled within the beautiful Ambassador Hotel and is great environment for lunch. Note, the sound is quiet which would be great for a business lunch."

  • "We had a lovely dinner. It was not crowded at all since we picked 4th of July. The food was very good. We had the fried calamari, Glazed salmon, Steak/fries and coffee chocolate cheese cake. Drinks were great. Can't remember the names of the alcoholl. Everything was perfect. O bar was a nice looking bar. Didn't spend much time there. We plan on coming to the bar soon."

  • "We've been anticipating dining at the Viceroy since it's opening. We were, for the most part, the only diners. Service was outstanding but I expected nothing less since we were his only table. The appetizer of calamari arrived quickly and very hot. It was also rubber, though the dipping sauce was delicious. My potato and curry soup was an intersting blend of flavors - nicely done. My husband's salad was fine. He had the German selection, which was overcooked. I had the BBQ Talequah Chicken which came from a skinny chicken but was well cooked. The baked beans were hard and undercooked. The fingerling potato salad was great. This plus one well drink came to $106.00. I can spend less and get better food. I will try again but only once more."

  • "Beautiful, small, intimate place. Problem was the service was lousy. It took over 40 minutes to get our lunch served and that was after having to ask the server. The food was great. The lunch menu is lacking. Just a few items to choose from. I would definitely go back but make sure you have plenty of time!"

  • "Wait staff was very busy. Waiter was great, but way too busy. Took a while to get service. Very good once we got it. Limited menu but wide variety. Caeser salad very small. Rolls very bland and no butter served. Liked the setting and decor."

  • "The restaurant is a lovely setting. I had requested a quiet table, and we were seated in a corner booth which fit the request very well. Our only complaint was that the booth seats are so soft the table was almost under our chins when we sat down. There were only about 10 people eating that evening, and the only waiter wasn't as attentive as he could have been. I know it is hard to judge what is needed when a new restaurant is starting out, and especially when it is in a new hotel. I have had lunch and dinner now, and the food has been quite good as far as I am concerned. I just think some of the "kinks" are yet to be worked out. Just don't go away!"

  • "Wine service was extremely slow. The seats are too low and makes you feel like a 10yr old. Food was great and tasty. "

  • "Recommend with reservation. Restaurant décor and layout very nice & Quiet. Service was spotty, sometimes very attentive, sometimes where did they go? We all thought menu a bit overpriced. My wife and I had prime rib. The piece of meat was a nice potion, not too fatty, well marbled as a prime rib should be. It did not come with au jus or horse radish sauce, had to ask. HR sauce portions were unbelievably small. The au jus arrived in a ramekin to be shared by me and my wife! The brocollini side was uninspired, boring, bland, unseasoned. We had no salt & pepper on table!! Had to share them with table next to us. For the price, I think they could have had seasoning on each table. Restaurants need offer a main and two side dishes as the entrée!!"

  • "We started our evening with a drink at Vast and then asked the Ambassador driver to pick us up there and drive us to the Viceroy, great little perk! We live in OKC and used Uber to go downtown. When we arrived at the Ambassador we went to the Viceroy and checked in with Tyler and were told that our table was not quite ready, so we went up to their bar O to wait. We were not in a hurry so we enjoyed the time and loved the atmosphere. We sat at the bar. The bartender was very charming and talked to us about mixing drinks, which I enjoyed. I believe his name was Donny and made us great Manhattans! Can't say enough good about the dinner, the atmosphere and especially Tyler, Simeon and Donny. They understand the personal touch - impressive!!!"

  • "The new restaurant at the Ambassador Hotel in midtown OKC is very good - the food was delicious although they were out of several items we wanted to order. The service was very good as well and the ambience was upscale, a good place for a date or dinner with a few friends. I would recommend it! We also went to the 7th floor bar and it is a great spot for drinks with a view of downtown OKC and trendy, upscale furnishings, cozy chairs and good service."

  • "Clearly Viceroy was struggling on the recent evening my wife and I visited. The server seemed nervous and confused and it took some doing before I tracked down a manager because our salads never arrived, our drinks were watered down and there was an odd lack of serious concern as other patrons walked out, taking their business elsewhere. It was sad because its a new restaurant and in our neighborhood and we want it to succeed. All in all a disastrous dining experience. "

  • "Not the best experience. No one in the restaurant to great us. The couple a head of us banged on the kitchen door to have some to help us. The appetizer was cold. The waiter did not seem surprised. He did not take it off the bill. He did try by giving us a glass of wine. This restaurant needs to have some management present if they want the service to improve so customers will return."

  • "My wife and I had a wonderful time at Viceroy Grill. I would like to see larger portions of the entrees based upon their cost. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and is set in a very historical building in Midtown OKC. We will be back to both the restaurant and to stay at this beautiful boutique hotel"
