Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse - Las VegasFantastic place2nd time at Vic & Anthony's. Had been eating on the strip for our Anniversary dinner (have come 5 years in a row in mid- June to celebrate). Was tired of super expensive, trendy, celebrity chef steak houses. Vic & Anthony's is expensive - but worthy it. This year was even better than last. The Quail, crabcakes & Lobster bisque were all fantastic ( we share). The filet and the rib-eye were some of the best ever. Our server was again top notch and the wine steward recommended a great wine. We take our eating seriously and meet after we are back home to plan our next years trips and meals. My friends rib eye as well. Her husbands chicken however was not as high quality as the other 2 meals. It was overcooked. My view of dining is simple- When at a steak house....EAT STEAK .When in Maine (where I live) EAT SEAFOOD. Everything else was perfect, the appetizers, the drinks, the vegetables, the bread and both steaks. If this was on the strip there would be a week long wait to get in. Do yourself a favor make the effort, go downtown and try this joint. If you like steak and seafood you will love this place. Just love the atmosphere and the service is exceptional. Top notch steaks. This time I switched from the filet oscar style and went with the prime ribeye. Fabulous. The side dish of creamed corn was probably not my favorite and the green beans had too much garlic, but I wasn't there for the sides. :) Cocktails were also made perfectly. Restaurant is very dimly lit so tip when they bring the steak and ask if the temperature is ok - don't be afraid to ask for a flash light as their medium tends to be on the rare side.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely go backWe go to Las Vegas once a year for a week--this year we decided to spend the weekend downtown and then stay on the Strip the rest of the week--was the best way to get the total feel of Las Vegas including eating dinner at Vic and Anthony's--everything about the meal was delicious--my husband had the filet and I had the Chicken Paige--the most delicious choice! The market price was somewhere around $149 and I expected a rich and slightly sweet flavor. The tail was bland and I added salt (ugh!) to bring out what little flavor it had. I wouldn't recommend ordering the lobster but rather go with a prime choice. The lobster bisque and the key lime pie were exceptional! Each entree comes with 2 specific sides (mashed potatoes & asparagus). We got 2 entrees, so 4 sides. When we requested to substitute 2 other sides for the 4 we were supposed to get, we were told that we would have to pay additional for 1 of the 2 sides. This annoyed me quite a bit and soured the entire experience. Makes no sense that I should have to pay extra when all I wanted to do was substitiute side dishes (and only 2 instead of 4)!
So the restaurant made an extra $9 off of me, yet that's what I mostly recall from the evening. We live about 2,000 miles from this joint, so it's kind of a special occasion when we go :)

Always looking for a great steakhouse, so tried V & A's on a recommendation. Fabulous steaks cooked to perfection, and wine, sides and dessert were great too. Excellent waiter that knew how to upsell without being overly abrasive. If you can fight your way up to the Downtown area, and wade through the bums, beggars and hangers-on that make up 90% of Fremont St, you won't regret it. We preferred it over Smith & Wollensky's at about the same price ($100-$125M a piece with cocktails, an $80 bottle of wine and dessert). Great atmosphere, not whisper quiet but never struggled to hear my girlfriend speak, jazz music playing in the back ground.
Like most steakhouses, the menu is al la carte. Had the 12 ounce filet, and shared two sides (cream corn and mashed potatos. The potatos were good, but the corn was EXCELLENT.)
Server was very knowledgable on the menu and the staff "team served" the plates and never did my glass go empty.
If you're looking for a great steak downtown, give these guys a shot. Excellent salads (cesear & the pear/pecan salad). Outstanding Steak flavorful & cooked perfectly. Sea Bass was amazing! The soup du jour (shrimp, crab & spinach) was unbelieveable. Top it all off with two amazing desserts (key Lime pie & a bread pudding) that were so good I have goose bumps just thinking about them. Our server & his assistant were also amazing! This was the best meal start-to-finish that I've had in a very long time. My 22oz bone-in ribeye was cooked to perfection. I usually ask for medium-rare, but at the suggestion of my waiter, I ordered it medium due to the bone and to achieve a slightly higher caramelization of the fat. The recommendation was spot on and not overcooked at all. Nice crust on the steak, still very pink center, warm and moist throughout. Wonderful salads, sides, and wine as well - all picked with a little guidance from our waiter.
