The staff was extremely friendly yet attentive to needs and special requests about the extensive menu. The offerings were delicious and the portions substantial. The noise level made it somewhat difficult to talk conversationally, but it was Saturday night and there were several groups of six at nearby tables. I would go back there again, probably on a weeknight.

This modest place has an opinion about how they want to provide dining and in particular excellent, flavourful food - unlike many modern trendy wannabes - this was the most satisfying and tasty italian meals I have had in months and I am fortunate to samepl many so called Chicago "hot spots". great waiter, casual environment, supe spot for before / after United Center events also.

A friend of ours had recommended this place to us awhile ago. We finally decided to take their advice and try it out. We are so happy that we did! This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in years. The food was amazing, service was great and the atmosphere was fun and lively. Night was capped off by an abundance of limoncello served by our waiter (the owner)! An evening we will not soon be forgetting. This place definitely found a spot in our rotation.

I will have to admit, we over did it at lunch then went to Viaggio for dinner. The food and service were as good as any place we ate on our 6 day trip to Chicago. The waiter was made wonderful suggestions. I had the veal chop, wife and daughter split an eggparm. My chop was perfectly prepared and the eggparm was great - but the Alfredo side on the eggparm was truly AMAZING. Next time I'll be sure to fast for a while before I go back. They had sooo many good looking items on the menu and judging by what we had they would all be great. Can't wait to try it again.

Viaggio is a favorite of ours. The food is outstanding, service is personal and friendly. You don't have to go there often to be remembered by the staff and be treated like they are very glad you are back. We have ordered a variety of meals off the menu and have often tried the daily specials and have never been disappointed. Their baked clam are the best!

This was our first time and the food was very good! The meatball salad was to die for!! Wine selections were good and the bread was fresh and warm. My only complaint was the service, it started out great and it lacked after that. He was pretty much absent after entrees came and we were never asked if we wanted coffee or an after dinner drink with the dessert. We will give it another try though!

My entire family loves Viaggio. We have celebrated birthdays there as well as regular dinners and lunches. The food is classic Italian and served beautifully. Don't miss the Meatball salad. Unreal!!!! All of the pastas are fresh and delicious. The eggplant stack is a fabulous appetizer! Great wine options and outstanding, friendly service. The tiramisu is not to be missed. In a city filled with wonderful restaurants, Viaggio stands out because of its fabulous food and warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Went to Viaggio before Blackhawks game. Seated promptly then completely ignored until my husband arrived. Ordered quickly then waited and waited and waited, 40 minutes in total. Realized whole room was waiting and game time was nearing. This is a place that specializes in pregame meals! Waiter mostly avoided the situation, finally said he would comp drinks. Food came at the last minute only to have my husband's whitefish badly over cooked! Waiter then "forgot" to comp drinks. Don't know if cook quit or what, mgt was short on reasons, just said it was a rough night!

We were just there before Game 5 of Hawks playoff game. Was entertaining clients, Had a 5:30 reservation, and immediately put our order in. No app's or food had arrived by 6, nothing at 6:15, told the waiter and he said "any minute". Well 6:40 came and no one in the whole restaurant got any food, and they finally admitted that there was a problem in the kitchen (which I suspected but they denied 30 minutes earlier). My clients and I ended up grabbing a lousy hot dog at the game, so not a strong performance from Viaggio. Very disappointing as I give them tons of business. I need to re-evaluate now. Worst part was they denied the kitchen problem till it was too late - we could have had time to eat somewhere else.

My wife and I took my parents to Viaggio's for dinner and it was wonderful. We got the meatball salad, eggplant parm, and pork parm. The meatball salad was our favorite. Viaggio's is one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago and has by far the best Italian food in Chicago. The waiter was extremely nice and provided us a lot of good recommendations for dinner. He also was very nice and gave us a Limoncello drink at the conclusion of dinner at no extra cost. My wife and I will definitely be coming back and we have already told a number of our friends of this great restaurant.

Close proximity of other tables caused us to be subjected to everyone else's conversations, while we could barely hear each other. The food was fine as was the service, but I really didn't need to hear the woman next to us discussing her ugly divorce for over an hour...in great detail.
