Via Vite is a contemporary Italian bistro located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati right on Fountain Square. Our menu features Chef Cristian's creative spin on Italian cuisine using the best locally sourced ingredients available. Via Vite is the ideal spot for a quick lunch or a lively dinner with friends.   • "I went to Via Vite during a day trip to Cincinnati. My boyfriend got the gnocchi and I got the fig, Gorgonzola, arugula pizza. Both were phenomenal...however, the portion of the gnocchi was tiny and it didn't come with any sides or anything! My pizza was huge and I was more than willing to share; however, I was very surprised by his portion considering the prices. Overall, the food was incredible but be sure to ask how big the servings are!"

  • "We were out for the evening celebrating a birthday (55), the birthday person requested dinner at Via Vite. It was a beautiful evening and the square outside was hoppin....Chef Christian was on his game, as was our server Alicia. The lamb shank was a hit, but so was the Farfalle pasta with asparagus, marscapone cream and butternut squash purée. Fabulous wine and an all around warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for a casual weeknight (great happy hour) or any time your celebrating something special! Bravo!"

  • "Asparagus and beet salad was wonderful! My Dina pizza was tasty but a bit doughy but I liked the combination of sweet and salty toppings. We started out with one waitress and ended with another which might have been because one couple was late, but they tried to serve us another table's meals. We waited a long time before dessert was offered and we had to find someone when we wanted our check. Still, parking was easy and the Square was busy and fun to see all the activity. I would return."

  • "We were at a Wine Bar in another part of town and decided on the spur of the moment to try Via Vite. We made a reservation online about 45 minutes before we arrived and they had us in the system. They asked us if we wanted to sit outside and since it was a nice night we agreed. A great view of Fountain Square! The wine list was good, and the service excellent. Will definitely bring out of town friends soon."

  • "Great start to the evening when we were given the the table I requested - one with a view of the gorgeous Tyler Davidson Fountain on Fountain Square. Our server was attentive and helpful. No problem with sharing a pizza, then sharing a salad followed by two different pasta dishes. Dinner was served very leisurely, which is fine by me but an order of pepperonata was provided when there was a long wait for our salads. Very tasty!"

But this time the dinner was outstanding as always but the service was just ok. I don't know if the server was new or what but we were disappointed with the service. Food was top notice!!!!"

  • "It was our first time dining at Via Vite, and we were a little disappointed. The restaurant staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the ambiance, but the portion sizes were very small. For two people, we ended up eating an appetizer, two bread baskets, our entrees, and a "side for the table" (which only fed one of us). We ended up still having room for dessert from Graeter's."

  • "All 4 of us enjoyed our dinners. 2 people got pizzas and really loved them, but they were almost big enough to share so lots of leftovers. I got the gnocchi that our server said was one of her favorites- it was good but not amazing. However the carmelized brussel sprouts were amazing! We got a half priced bottle of wine which was a good deal for a restaurant. We would definitely go back."

Crab cake burger needed more flavor. Ravioli was ok. Bread was delicious. My daughters pizza was decent. I was expecting something more, but I'll probably go back to try the lunch or dinner menu."

  • "We went after a matinee show and we loved it! We are already planning on returning in the summer. The special appetizer was order for everyone at the table. Lots of flavor. 2 loved it 1 did not like the anchovie. The server was wonderful. Friendly, timing of food, knowledge of their wine and also noted they white truffles were available on this particular evening and recommended. The white truffles were wonderful in the crusty gnocchi dish. Everyone was very pleased with their entree selections and also the brussel sprout side ordered for the table. We decided on 3 different desserts to share. All of them were great, but the Dark Chocolate Creme Brulee was hands down the favorite of the three."

We took suggestions from other reviews and ordered the Bruschetta, Crispy Gnocchi, Caramelized Brussel Sprouts, and Caramel Complexity. We gushed about the food so much that the Chef came to our table to personally thank us. I have never had such a wonderful experience at a restaurant. We are already planning our next visit."

  • "It was a birthday celebration for my friend which began with dinner at Via Vite [me, the Butternut Squash Ravioli with Lobster Tail; she, the Filet with sauted fresh spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. First course was the Mussels in the most amazing broth - completely consumed with the fresh baked bread, and she a goat cheese salad with Rasberry vinegar dressing. All exceptional!] Off to see the Wizard in WICKED at the Arnoff; only to RUSH back for desert! Dark chocolate creme brulee with Rasberry infused whipped cream and a Carmel tower of carmel flan, mouse and gelato between baked filo dough layers! YUM! a perfect evening complimented by a perfect meal... Chef Christian is more than consistent - he NEVER disappoints!"

  • "Wow!! I am a visitor to Cincinnati and an avid foodie, as is my dining companion. Chose Via Vite after reading reviews and it was a close walk from the hotel. We were delighted with our server Maggie, the best in the business. She described in detail the dishes and drinks and made recommendations. We chose the Boucheron goat salad, the carrot custard like appetizer, the crispy Gnocchi and rich diver Scallops. Each choice was over the top delicious. Very well prepared and great flavor. I highly recommend the Via Vite. And ask for Maggie. She is fun and knows her stuff!"

  • "We wanted to try something different while we were out of town for a weekend getaway. Called ahead to our hotel and they recommended Via Vite (as an Italian restaurant). It was a bit on the "club" side, not really a quiet, romantic place. HOWEVER, having said that, we were seated in an out-of the way semi-quiet corner. The service was fantastic and we were even visited by the chef who was charming and humble! The menu had a lot of variety and our server was very helpful in helping us make selections. I enjoyed one of the stonefired pizzas (Veggie) and it was wonderful with great flavor! My husband had the Roasted Chicken. He enjoyed it immensely, We also indulged in the rice pudding for dessert and it was delicious!"

  • "I was looking forward to a great meal and had never tried Vie Vite before. The whole experience started with a Tim Gunn wannabe presiding as host. Not friendly or cordial in any way. There is an overall energetic atmosphere about the restaurant with a great location right on Fountain Square, but the dining room is over-packed. The servers had to literally hoist their rear ends up and over seats as the were going from table to table as the tables are placed right on top of each other. I would be fine with any of this if the food was good, but it wasn't. I ordered the pasta e fagioli, as I love fresh pasta, but the noodles were so dense it was like eating boiled pie crust. The service was abysmal, too. I would rather eat at Olive Garden."

As occasional visitors to the Queen City, we have often found a certain lack of authenticity in the cuisine, and a lack of choice. Your New York visitors are happy to report that the Queen City has now found its place on the culinary map of excellent Italian food in America in the form of Via Vite, located on Fountain Square. Credit goes to Chef Cristian Pietoso, a native of Tuscany, for his authentic and comforting treatment of classic Tuscan dishes and for his charming and welcoming personality. We could not recommend it more highly. Via Vite is this New Yorker's refuge in the Queen City."

  • "Had 6 pm reservation and was seated immediately. Told wait staff that we were attending an 8 pm show. Dinner was not presented until almost 7:30 and this was after asking three times about status of food. Pizza was cold and tough, gnocchi marginal, fish flavorless and bolognese decent. Needless to say, we had to shovel down our food and run to the show. They did comp us our drinks which was a nice gesture."

  • "If you like loud, energetic atmosphere, this is the place. They were so busy this night, our waitress forgot many things and kept on saying "im sorry" all the time. The chef bussed tables as well. Our bruschetta was very disappointing for $11 we got two small pieces of toast with sliced red and yellow cherry tomatoes thrown on top with a few shreds of basil. No cheese. Not a good presentation for a bruschetta."
