Diner Reviews
  • "My in laws were visiting and I wantes something down town so we could walk around and see some of Cincinnati. My in laws are very much foodies so when I saw Via Vite and all the great reviews I figured to give it a shot. I was not disappointed! The food was amazing. I had crispy gnocchi which I will be going back to have again as soon as i can! Also we had the bruchetta of the day and unbelievable desserts. I reccomend sharing the chocolate creme brule or the caramel tower. Everything came out perfectly cooked and the chef even came out himself to make sure the food was to our liking. I highly recommend via vita."

  • "we dined upstairs on a Sunday night and had a great meal. Even better was the choice of wine bottles at 1/2 price. A great bonus and a terrific time."

  • "Took family from out of town to Via Vite for an evening of good food and vibrant downtown experience at Fountain Square. The food was delicious and the service was great."

  • "From appetizers to after dinner drinks, the food was amazing! We love Italian food, and Via Vite hit the mark - one of the best we've been to locally! We had the bruschetta with yellow peppers, the honeymoon salad, the seafood/pasta mixed dish, and the pasta with lobster and squash."

  • "Food and appetizers were all great! Everyone had something different and all the dishes were delicious. Will defiantly come back for both the atmosphere/food"

  • "Great classic Italian dishes using local meats and produce. Meatballs are delicious! The polenta was superb. And the pizza delicious. Great service."

  • "You always know what to expect and Chef Christian has fantastic menu items. We come here often and we've never been disappointed. The host always tries to get my favorite booth! I don't know his name, but almost always there, tall, slender, and very nice ... Thank you!"

  • "I had read many reviews and picked this restaurant based on them. The four of us were very disappointed with the food. Would not recommend or go back. Service was very good though."

  • "Food and service were excellent! Two had pizza, one had Pork Belly and the other had Fried Gnocchi. All were great. Would definitely go back!"

  • "First time back in 2 years due to relocation. A little nervous due to menu changes. Need not have been concerned. Alesha gave great service and Chef Christian delivered a great meal. Best Italian food in the region."

  • "not great for larger groups at lunchtime. Very noisy and very close quarters.."

  • "We sat upstairs outside and it was so great. We had a view of fountain square and they had concerts going on, it was great!! Food was soooo delicious. Will definitely go back. I made my reservation on opentable and i left special instructions to wish my friend a happy graduation. And I didnt think that they would get it. But the waitress suprised my friend and wished her a happy graduation and she was suprised! And at the end of the meal she brought us dessert on the house for the special occasion. The experience was delightful! :)"

  • "Via Vite was a very nice place to have a scenic patio dinner for two. The food was good and the service was fair but a little to pricey for the portions which I expected. With the other restaurants around the square I would drop the prices a bit considering the other places had more people occupying them during dinner time. It was romantic but I think going to Greaters for dessert and sitting at the square together made it that much more worth while. Our table at dinner was really wobbly and I was still hungry after we ate. I would go back and probably order the pizza next time lol. It was still a nice place."

  • "I dined here with three other people. We had their featured flatbread with smoked salmon and it was delicious. I had the gnocchi and others got different kinds of pizza. All of the food was so good! One group member's entree was taking a little longer than the rest so the waiter brought him a free side dish to snack on while he waited - very thoughtful. All in all, a wonderful experience!"

  • "If you haven't tried it already, go now to Via Vite! We had a wonderful anniversary dinner and then had more drinks on the patio outside that overlooks the square. We have also been for their incredible happy hour. We highly recommend Via Vite! Delicious food, friendly staff and service, beautiful place to dine! Can't wait for an excuse to go back!"

  • "They can't decided if this should be a noisy sports bar or a up scale restaurant.. The food was good but small portions. The noise level was unacceptable. Bar patrons were screaming for their team and making a conversation over dinner impossible. Tables are too close to each other and the staff kept bumping into the chairs."

  • "We shared three appetizers - two were daily specials (crostini with goat cheese and artichokes and stuffed cherry peppers) and one regular menu item (whipped ricotta with lemon and anchovy). All three were absolutely delicious. I followed with the gnocchi which was fabulous. All with a lovely Rose wine. My share of the total spend including tip was about $50. I definitely will be going back on a regular basis."

  • "Great food and easy parking for a business luncheon."

  • "This was our first visit to this restaurant. It is very centrally located in the heart of Cinn., Oh. downtown district. Parking can be a bit tricky as it is on a one-way street, so don't miss the parking garage that is directly underneath the restaurant. The food was very good; however my husband entrée, he said was a bit on the dry side. Our waiter did not offer any compensation which would have been nice; since this entrée was one of the most expensive. A special dessert was brought for my son (a newly graduated student) since this was a celebration dinner. Overall, service was good and the food well presented."

  • "I had to change my reservation a couple of times, finally ending up with just 20 minutes to close - the person on the phone (Tim?) was incredibly understanding and friendly. When I made my reservation I noted that it was our anniversary - the staff brought out champagne, toasted us, and wished us a happy anniversary; what a nice touch! Our waitress was sweet and helpful, and seemed to anticipate our every need. We had the potato leek soup of the day, it was seriously the most amazing thing I've ever eaten, and the Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc I had was phenomenal. We each had the lamb shank and scallops; the lamb fell off the bone and every chef should make note of how this place does scallops. The price is right for seriously good dining!"

  • "we go to Via Vite for the great food and are never disappointed. Christian, the owner has to be the hardest working restaurant owner we've ever seen. He is in the kitchen hands on, making sure everything is perfect and even runs the food when he needs to. a true favorite of ours and we will continue to go on dates there and take our friends there to enjoy a true neighborhood gem!"

  • "There isn't much to knock on the restaurant. The food was good, service was good. Just nothing to make it stand out. Both mine and my spouse's dishes were yummy."

  • "I wish I would have had great service... It would drive me to come back because the good was pretty tasty. Although the restaurant didn't seem busy... She sure did seem too busy for our table. 15-20 min for our first drinks that were all brought to the table separately... With long intervals in between. Food was good... But when we are paying a decent amount for the food... Most expect great service in return. When she dropped the bill, she didn't say "thank you.... Have a good night... Hope you enjoyed everything"- she actually said nothing at all! It was a special occasion for someone at the table and I was embarrassed to have recommended the place Bc of how we were treated. "

  • "This was my first experience dining here and it definitely won't be my last. The staff were attentive, polite and the service was outstanding. The house specialty cocktails did not disappoint with fresh muddled ingredients and oh, so bright. We had a few traditional stuffed sweet cherry peppers for an appetizer that were absolutely delicious. For a main course, my wife had the Friday specialty, lasagna made with their house Bolognese, bechamel. It was very light and what a difference fresh pasta makes. I had the asparagus marscapone ravioli with a small lobster tail. It was a wee bit of heaven on a plate! For dessert, we shared the tiramisu, which came in a glass - delizioso! Excellent dining on Fountain Square!"

  • "First visit to Via Vite, greeted nicely by staff. Table available 10 minutes later than reservation time, no problem. Server was ok at best, food not so good. The Ahi Tuna was very tasting, item served with entree not good at all. My wife had the asparagus ravioli, which was great. The included lobster tail was tough and partially uncooked. We told our server and she said she would let the chef know. Never heard another word from the staff nor an attempt to correct the issue. No need to return to Via Vite. "

  • "The "Italian" French Toast looked gorgeous and tasted delicious. There was a slight lemon flavor with a delicious vanilla bean sauce. The brunch entrees that each of my other family members had looked amazing as well. The waiter was polite and attentive to details and my family had a great experience there. It was a birthday brunch to remember."

  • "I often go to Via Vite for lunch. it is close to my work and the food is good and reasonably priced for the quality. However, service is consistently mediocre. It is slow. they do refill the water often enough and they don't ask if we want separate bills. It is a bit dissapointing."

  • "Via Vita impresses from the moment you walk in the door. The decor is modern and refined, but not intimidating. Combined with a pleasant view of fountain square, and the ambiance is very nice. I started off with the Potatoe leek soup, which was fantastic. I was relatively hungry and looking to conserve on the bill, so I got a vegetarian pizza (probably not the best option on the menu,) but it impressed regardless. The portobello mushrooms were fresh and delicious, and all the flavors complemented each other quite well on top of a perfectly textured crust. Overall, very happy with my meal."

  • "Had a great dinner on a busy Saturday at Via Vite. Several big parties would have overwhelmed some restaurants but not Via Vite. Great service and food...and wine. Loved the tuna and the Bolognese. Only regret is I didn't leave room for desert."

  • "Special of the day was excellent as was the Greek salad. Went out of their way to show us the location options for dining that evening. Service was friendly and prompt. Have been there before and will definitely go again."

  • "My husband and I have always loved Via Vite, but our last meal there was even more exceptional than usual. We sat at the Chef's table, had great conversations with the kitchen staff, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was one of the best meals I can remember in a while. The Bolognese was excellent as always, and the caramel complexity dessert was to die for!"

  • "Food was not what we expected. Paid $3 for a terrible veal meatball. Server seemed very rushed to get out off work. Our Anniversary dinner was a disappointment by going here; however, the area of Downtown Cincinnati was nice. "

  • "The day was "Taste of Cincinnati", so I don't know your usual noise level. My friends and I ate at the terrace and we had a great time. Everyone passed around their food and gave a little to everyone. All the food was delicious. The waiter was very nice. Thank You!"

  • "Energetic vibe. Large portions and the specials were delicious! Knowledgeable and very friendly staff! Only issue was the noise level. The volume of the music made conversation across the table difficult to hear. We requested that the music be turned down and it was, for about 20 minutes. Not sure if specific speakers can be muted or not, but it might be something to look into for those diners who do not want a "club" feel to their dining experince. Other than that issue, however, the Via Vite has a beautiful ambience and is located right in the heart of Cincinnati, overlooking Fountain Square! "
