A word from Via Tribunali Capitol Hill
We opened our first pizzeria in 2004 in the burgeoning Capitol Hill neighborhood. For months before we opened curious onlookers poked their heads in the former auto body shop, and outlandish rumors spread. One person saw a team of masons reportedly flown in from Naples to build a gargantuan wood-fired oven, someone heard that the bricks also came from Naples rich with Vesuvian ash, a reporter ran a story about a taxi driver leading our owner down a dark Neaopolitan street to meet a talented Pizzaiolo who was then whisked to an airport….

As it turns out almost all of the tall tales are true – on opening night people lined up for the authentic Neaopolitan pizza and since then our ovens have only gotten busier. Via Tribunali has been called "more authentic than the pizzerias of Naples," and even though that is a flattering exaggeration it is fair to say that our pizzerias have grown out of an almost unnatural passion for the food & wine of Southern Italy.

The food was great and service very good. It was very dark so for us older folks it was hard to read the menu. The worst part was the music. It was so loud you could hardly talk. I have been told the other location in Georgetown is much quieter so that will be the one I go to next time. This location in Capitol Hill is definitely for a younger crowd.

Our waiter made a big deal about the restaurant's 1000 degree oven and how it produced crisp thin crust pizzas. We had three pizzas, all were soft with burnt edges. Many places in Seattle to get very good pizza. The restaurant is convenient to some clubs, so as long as you don't have high expectations, it will suffice. One other point. The place is extremely dark, to the point you've got to use your phone to read the menu. I'm always a little suspicious of a restaurant with the lights so low you can barely see what you're eating.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Great pizza but be sure to save room for the Nutella calzone. I know that it sounds odd and I wouldn't have ordered it if my daughter hadn't recommended it but my god is it good. Something about the salty crust with a bit of wood-fired charcoal together with the Nutella is to die for. Great. Now I'm hungry all over again.

I thought Via was a converted church, but my friend says it's not. The entire atmosphere in Via is one of intimacy and warmth, which is great if you're there with someone special. I highly recommend reservations because the place isn't that large, and I could see it busy minutes after they open. If you're not into romance and extremely flattering lighting, Via's not for you. The pizza is wonderful, and if you're not hungry enough for a full meal, their little personal bar pizzas are just the ticket. The bartender is a very friendly, funny guy, and if you're like me (new in town!), he'll be glad to tell you the best local beers, best local whatever, really. Prices are reasonable, so the applause Via gets isn't without merit.

We had a wonderful family dinner with 8 around the table. We were a lot like herding cats, but the waiter was patient & perfect with us. His friendly demeanor & extensive knowledge of the menu made the evening a hit. Food (mostly shared pizzas) was delicious. We'll be back!

We went to Via Tribunali after completing Puzzle Break right around the corner (absolutely recommend that). Trib was one of the few places able to seat 12 of us on a busy Friday night in Capitol Hill. We had our own private table in the back of the restaurant and split 9 pizzas family style. The pizzas were delicious, the server was knowledgeable and friendly, and was great for a group our size. The only downside is that it was quite dark, only being lit by candles. But I absolutely recommend Via Tribunali! Amazing place.

Was in Seattle for a wedding and to visit some friends. Via Trubinali was always a favorite of ours while living in Seattle and yet again, it did not disappoint. Delicious fresh ingredients, love the location, our server, Ben, was amazing. So nice to see some things stay the same and that this place has stayed the same, can't wait to go back again.

We went here to celebrate my son's birthday and had a nice time. Overall the food was flavorful and the portions were a good size. We ordered three different pizzas and a calzone to share. The pizzas were pretty light on the toppings and very similar in taste. With as many pizza's as they have on the menu, we really expected more diversity. The Vesuvio calzone was excellent and a nice change from the pizzas. Our service was very good, friendly and at the table often enough to answer questions without being bothersome. However, she did forget the calzone so we needed to remind her - it wasn't delivered until after the pizzas were nearly gone. Memo to wait-staff, if you aren't going to write it down, remember what was ordered.

This was our second time to the Capitol Hill location. We bought the deal through Travel Zoo and then bought a second one after we had such a great experience. Their veal meatballs are amazing. Burrata with the arugula salad incredible. All of their pizzas are delicious. Really great caesar salad our kids loved! They make a Nutella calzone for dessert which is amazing. Great service both times. The second time was Father's Day and Adam waited on us. So great- Italian wine list is great too and priced very reasonably. We are new fans and it will become one of our favorites!!

Brought a repeat guest and a friend that has never been to Via Tribulani before to experience the pizza for the first time. I talked much stuff about it being the only authentic Neapolitan pizza in Seattle, because I am a firm believer this type of pizza and pizza in general should never be soggy in the middle. If its soggy, the crust is off or the oven isn't hot enough- somethings wrong! So, when she took a bite and groaned in satisfaction, I felt vindicated. Via Tribulani never disappoints and I am proud to recommend it. There were a few tics in the service, because it was such a full house- reservations are really recommended.

Totally overrated. A table of 2 is the size of a coffee table. I only ordered two dishes, a salad and a pizza because if I had ordered something else besides the pizza it wouldn't have fit the table! The Caesar salad was basically 4 uncut pieces of small lettuce leaves drenched in dressing. That was $8! As for the pizza itself, so many places have much better pizza It's completely overrated and it was $16! I got there just before the dinner rush hour. Granted groups of people came in after us, and they got their food before we did at times! And then I saw people waiting for there food for awhile! And it wasn't even 7 yet for the major dinner rush! I don't understand how this place even stays open and why people keep going back.

I checked out this place after hearing a lot about their happy hour. True, it was a good value ($10 for a half carafe of wine) and inexpensive personal size pizza. My only disappointment was that they only offer 3 pretty basic options for the type of HH pizza you could order, and that the pizza was a bit soft and didn't have dynamic flavor. (Could use a bit of salt?) It was certainly good, but not outstanding. Service was great, nice quiet spot for a date night (easy to have great conversation, it wasn't crowded and the reservation was not necessary on a rainy Thurs at 5pm) but not a destination simply for flavor or amazing pizza.

I have to say their happy hour pizza deal is a steal. I was out with the guys one night when we stumbled upon this gem. The only problem was that we could never pinpoint where it was that we went. About a year later we found it and I have been back a couple of times with my lady. The pizza is delicious, atmosphere romantic, and right near all the Capitol Hill hotspots. Ask the waiters about the history of Via Tribulani, its a fun story.

Such a fun dining experience. The food is always amazing and authentic (for two people we usually get 1 app/salad and 1-2 pizzas, they are thin but still filling).. It was my last time to impress my girlfriend before leaving her on business for the next 3 months, Via Tribunali was the perfect place to say "see you again shortly" over a fantastic meal. We were seated once we entered the establishment. We arrived 30 minutes prior to our booking. We arrived early as we were quite famished. This was not a problem for the staff. They seated us promptly and our server was with us as soon as he could be. Our water glasses were never empty. When our server was busy, the other staff would continually fill our glasses - even after we had finished desert and coffee. Food was fantastic and came out quickly. Would definitely go again when back in town!
