Vespa Ristorante-Chapel HillExcellent serviceWe went there to celebrate a co-worker graduation. The service was amazing and the restaurant provided desert for free!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's Day / graduation menGiven busy and full tables of celebration of graduation and mother's day, we were delighted with service and food quality of fixed menu offerings. Appetizers were generous and well prepared, main course was delicious ( seafood ravioli and lamb shank entrees), with yummy dessert. Staff very attentive. Ate outside and although near busy street, found the scene delightful. Lovely attentive touches of blue and white balloons honoring grads and a red rose given to all moms.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ReataurantWe have enjoyed this restaurant thoroughly during our son's four years at UNC.
Very good food in relaxed atmosphere, great
owner and wonderful location5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Good service.Great food. Good service. Everything we have had there is great.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable for basic pasta dishes,Reliable for basic pasta dishes, Vespa often excels in its specials and its salads. A fish special -- treated gently with light batter and very fresh oil and seasonings -- was as good as can be found in Italy itself. Portions can be large, and for some tastes there can be too much reliance on starches (potatoes, pasta) resulting in heaviness, which some may welcome as heartiness. But the ingredients are fresh and ripe, making the salads outstanding (a tricolore with tomato, mozzarella, fresh basil and avocado was memorable). The wine list is knowledgeable and reasonably priced (love those Italian reds!).4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMReally treated well especiallyReally treated well especially since it was a birthday event!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my favorite placeThis is my favorite place for lunch and my second favorite for dinner. I ordered the Caprese Sandwich and my friend ordered the Vegetable Sandwich. I remember them costing only $8.50 but the biggest bargain of the century as they are served with a cup of soup and a salad. The salad is always fresh and dressed with a light oil based dressing. The soup I've gotten there has always been the best I've ever tasted. This time it was carrot soup which normally would not ring my bells. Both my friend and I thought it was so superbly made that we didn't taste it as a cooked carrot. It was just the best! The sandwiches are always good. There are so many really good things to pick from on his menu. The owner is very involved in your experience.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Little Restaurant!!We loved having Easter Bruch at Vespa Ristorante! It has a Euro flare and the waiters are very professional, great wine and atmosphere, also intimate setting for a date! There is outdoor dining right on Franklin but we dined inside because of the weather.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and good foodGreat service and good food. Vespa seems to be back after faltering a bit. We used to love this place, but during the last two years the food was not so spectacular and we had stopped going. We decided to try it again this weekend and it was great! There weren't very many people there (end of spring break at UNC) so I hope others will try this neighborhood gem again!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved our first experienceWe loved our first experience at Vespa for lunch with our family of four!
The waiter provided outstanding service and the food was terrific. It was so tasty and the presentation of each plate was fun and appealing. We loved the sorbet served in the frozen peach for dessert. It was also nice to have parking provided especially on this busy college town street.
We will return!1/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
