Diner Reviews
  • "The food and service was out of this world. We ordered wild mushroom risotto and gnocchi in veal sauce as an appetizer. Neither was on the menu as an appetizer but the restaurant was happy to accommodate our request. For dinner, we had ordered the veal and fish special. Both were outstanding. We will definitely make this find a regular stop next time we’re in the city."

  • "I went there for the Valentine's day Prix Fix deal, and it was amazing. The food was great, and the wine, a Croatian Muscato was equally phenomenal."

  • "This was our first time to try Croatian cuisine. The chef is from Croatia and has a lot of experience cooking for notable kitchens in US. The food we ordered were all seafood, as Croatians are known for their seafood. We tried the seafood platter, whole grilles branzino (catch of the day), shrimp na buzaru and Croatian dessert. The fish was so fresh. Shrimp was perfectly cooked in tomato based sauce. It was very delicate and flavorful at the same time - creamy, and buttery, i assume there's no butter but simply the silky goodness of the shrimp. They have house white and red wine, which we helped ourselves to. The server was delightful. He made delicious recommendations, is prompt and cheery, and ambiance is good. Food is top notch. Amazing!"

  • "The service at VESLO was the most memorable part of a wonderful evening — every member of the staff was kind, attentive, and pleasant. I felt that for the sophistication of the menu items, their execution was quite...rustic. I ordered the grilled calamari special and of the three squid bodies on the plate, two of them still had quills present (the inedible translucent bone). I found many of the dishes to be lacking in depth of flavor or possessing too much of one spice, especially garlic. Still, the dishes we all had were deeply comforting and again, the atmosphere is excellent. I'd go back in a heartbeat."

  • "For people who do not know about Croatian food, this is a great place to be introduced to this cuisine. The food, which has a somewhat Italian style, Croatia being just across the sea from Italy, is fresh, well prepared and served by an attentive staff. Try the Croatian beer and Croatian wine. Excellent fish and seafood dishes."
