Went there with friends for the second time since we liked it the first. Vertige did not deceive. The service was attentionate and efficient. Food was great, though the wine was pricey and choice was limited. Great dinner overall!

I have been there many years ago and enjoyed the food very much. The mtl a table experience was very mediocre and did not live up to their usual standards. Presentation for the main courses was sloppy, the steak was chewy, and the dessert which was delicious and presented beautifully was miniature. I had such a great impression of them which was ruined by my last experience. too bad.

My friend & I went to dinner here for the first time during Montréal à table. For the first course, my friend had the salmon tartare, which was light & fresh, and I had the Bison Kofta, which was tasty, moist &!tender. For the second, we both had the cod & loved it. It melted in your mouth & tasted great with the brandade. The portion size was enough to fill you up. Dessert was also well done: the vanilla crème brûlée, and chocolate fondant cake were simple and not overly sweet. Vertige was cozy, tastefully decorated, and comfortable, so comfortable that we took our time and stayed chatting for over 2 hours. The service was considerate & courteous, our glasses of water and wine never went empty. Would definitely come again!

I just went there for my dad's birthday. He's not so fond of "wierd foods" as he would probably say it. We actually tried the Tuesday and Wednesday special (6 tapas for 23$) and he loved it! We had some arranchini (exquisitly moist and flavourful), the lobster raviolli (to die for), the steak was well cooked, but a bit too salty to my taste, the coconut shrimps were well balanced, the portuguese chicken was tender and well seasoned... I don't remember all we got, but the special requires everyone at the table to take the special if you want it, so we had 18 plates total (with some we took 2 or 3 of)... 2nd time around for me and I'll definitely come back there again.

This is a comfortable quaint restaurant in a great neighborhood location. While visiting Montreal my two sons and myself booked a table at Vertige on the night while they were serving the Tapas menu with a variety of selections. All selections were very good and all of us enjoyed the varied selection of all the items. There was plenty of food and everything was excellent. We enjoyed the table by the opened window to the street creating a great dining experience. It is a fine restaurant with excellent food and flavours.

I, my wife and my 20 month old daughter had a fantastic Saturday night dinner here. To my surprise this place is very kid friendly and every single server is so nice. The food was simply outstanding. We wanted a good French style dinner and this place delivered it all. Has very good wine collection including Champagne. We ordered land and sea menu which is four course meal for two. This place offered one of the top quality food we have had, even we compared our experience with some restaurants owned by celebrity chefs! This was a very good find.

This was right in the neighborhood where I was staying, on a block with a lot of other good restaurants. It wasn't as crowded as some of the others & I don't know why. They have tapas & prix fixe specials. We ordered off the menu & it was great. Seemed to be short a waitress but we still managed to get good service. The tomato tart was delicious, we shouldn't have split that; salads were a nice size. I had the veal chop; awesome & my friend had Cod. Beautiful presentations & so good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't bring me a birthday dessert though.

Found this place on Trip Advisor and made reservation through Open Table. We decided to have the tapas menu they have on Tuesday/Wednesday nights. Of the 12 items we had the only one that was less than great was a steak tapas that was a little chewy but still OK. The chocolate torte was great for dessert and the coffees were great. It was a low noise place and service was good - was nice to have time between the different items. If we come to Montreal again we would definitely come here again.

I ate at Vertige during a long weekend in Montreal. I loved Montreal; the people, culture and night life are just amazing. It was important for me to write this review because over the whole time, Vertige was the highlight by a country mile. The food here is amazing. I had Escargots first which were the best I have tasted (my father in law lives in Bourdeaux), then the Lobster Arancini which are sublime, then Scallops which had the most AMAZING beurre blanc in fact the beurre blanc was the highlight of the whole meal for me, the BEST Beef Tartare then a divine Mignon. So ok I ate allot but it was a special occasion. What ever you do in Montreal, eat at Vertige, take your loved ones, you will not regret it.

My wife and i had dinner here recently and enjoyed the food and service. We both had the duck trio, and found the fois gras to be of high quality. The service was attentive in that i appreciated the staff checking if we were finished each course before they prepared the next. This also indicated to me the freshness of the food being prepared. The only suggestion i have is that the staff explain how each course is prepared when taking the order, especially if it is fusion cuisine. Our second dish of the trio was duck confit, however it was prepared in a spring roll which we did not expect (non the less delicious).

Went on a Tuesday night with my wife to sample the Tues-Wed Tapas special at 29$ each. . We are both foodies or, 'food snobs' as we call ourselves. We opted for the Tapas special, both of us choosing 6 Tapas each. You are permitted to double (or more) on one item. The first round came out pleasantly quick and then settled in to a nice pattern. The presentation (small skillets) is cute, the wine menu more than adequate, service staff was helpful guiding us through the menu. The fusion of flavors as well as the accompanying sauces (served on the side, for dipping) was delicious. Truly a gem of a find. Total bill with a bottle of wine, 99$.

I wanted a classy romantic restaurant and that's what I got. First, we wanted a glass of wine each. The waitress made us try 3 different wines so we can pick the one we liked most (10$/glass). She was really patient. Then, another waitress served us a free drink their own special mix. For the food, we ordered "decouverte canard" (discovery duck 49$) and "decouverte terre" (discovery land 39$) both very tasty. They had each 2 appetizers, main dish and desert. Everything was excellent. We were full at the end. Don't eat too much bread to enjoy every bite. My husband took an espresso. (4$) The total bill for 2 was 150$. Worth it for special occasions !

The waitress was friendly and and took care of us. We had a 5 year old with us and although they didn't have a kids menu, she suggested something that was kid friendly. We had complimentary amuse bouche. The waitress even brought one for our son, which he loved. They used high quality ingredients and did not over cook the fish or the duck breast we had. Service was nicely paced between each course. It was a long 3 years to finally eat at this restaurant. Wished we could have enjoyed the food sooner. Will definitely go back!

We were easily accommodated at Vertige with our changing reservation times but took longer than expected since we took public transit. It would be convenient if on their website they also include how to get to the restaurant by metro! It was a 9:30 pm dinner, and there were not many guests, so we felt a bit rushed in the service. The presentation of scallops and veal chops were beautiful. The amuse bouche was a nice treat. Love the cork tables. Was looking forward to the dessert, hot chocolate ice cream, but was disappointed with the result. Ice cream with whipped cream in cold chocolate pudding...where's the HOT chocolate?

I was traveling with a group of 8 colleagues for a conference. We wanted a place that was not "touristy" and served delicious, authentic French cuisine. We found it in Vertige. They had a four-course prix fixe menu for us that was affordable. The portions were ample and the food was out of this world. So glad we followed our noses and stomachs to Vertige.

The food was really good, unfortunately the service is not what you expect for such a fancy place. Instead of asking for our coats the waitress/hostess scolded us for trying to put them away on a hanger, when we wanted to order she would not take our entrees first and then the main courses, she said she would do it all at once (I'm sorry but as a customer I order what I want and when I want, not at the waitress' convenience). When compared with other restaurants in Montreal, the place is average. For what we paid I would have expected a much better service.
