Vernon’s Restaurant, the newly opened signature restaurant features fresh Florida seafood, masterfully cut chops, locally-sourced vegetables and an enviable wine list.

The namesake restaurant of Vernon Kelly, a member of the development team that crafted the renowned TPC Sawgrass course with architects Pete and Alice Dye and former PGA TOUR Commissioner Deane Beman, is a destination for foodies as well as families. Enjoy breakfast or dinner and a floor-to-ceiling window view to the resort’s signature waterfall and lagoon, or watch the sun come up or go down on TPC Sawgrass.

Vernon’s fresh, local, seasonal fare and daily menu offerings are under the culinary direction of Chef Matthieu Landlillon.

  • "I called ahead and spoke with the GM William Mahon, and he accomodated a special request that I made of him for my wife's birthday dinner. We found the venue elegant & well maintained. Our waiter Mabrouck remembered us from some of our outings at the Augustine Grille, and took good care of us throughout the meal. Executive Cheff Brett Smith delivered Lobster Strudel to my wife personally, which was not on their New Year's Eve menu, explaining that this recipe was his creation from a time he worked in Arizona. If you like lobster at all, this is a must have -- you will not regret it!"

Bad: Scallop dish way too salty, spinach was minimal considering it was the veg that came w the dish. Ugly: for a Marriott Resort/Spa property to run out of Stoli AND Belvedere vodka on a Saturday night is inexcusable and the bar was empty! Also inexcusable was in making our reservation I wrote a message that it was my husbands birthday. This was absolutely ignored. We were very disappointed as we were looking for a new local restaurant in this area. The place is very impressive and Marriott did a fabulous job at the "new look". Hope they get their act together with promotions. Place lacked energy."

They are having outstanding happy hour 5 -6 with 1/2 priced wine, beer & superb appetizers: lobster strudel & raw oysters. We then had an early dinner in beautifully decorated dining room. Steak & fish were very good + had chowder bar offerings that were quite good. Service was outstanding in bar & restaurant."

  • "Picked this newly reconceptualized hotel restaurant for location not necessarily the menu and was pleasantly surprised. A terrific venue, with a "cool" vibe, The food lived up to the Decor. The complimentary chowder bar was unusual and delicious. The breadsticks are yummy and well seasoned. Service was knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. All in all, a lovely evening for group of seven."

Our first visit to Vernon's was just ok, but nothing special for the price of the evening. Also missed the cheese plate which was a previous favorite. Nice wine selection and attentive service from waiter and manager. Didn't feel it had much ambiance for a date night, so maybe better for a family dinner or brunch on the weekend."

  • "This is a great new restaurant in Ponte Vedra Beach. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and came back each night to try something new and we're never disappointed. The servers were great! They knew the menu and how the dishes were prepared. We loved the variety of fresh fish and different chowders. (Lobster and crawfish was my favorite) my husband and I also loved that the staff honestly seemed to care. You don't find that too much these days. The manager was always talking with the guests and interested in feedback and nothing seemed rushed. Overall great dining experience. Definitely will be back!"

  • "This is an awesome new restaurant in the Ponte Vedra area. I was very excited to try this out, and my expectations were far exceeded. They offer complimentary valet service. When we got into the resort, the restaurant caught my eye right away. It is furnished and decorated very beautifully. As the hostess walked me and my dinner guest to our table, she gave us a brief tour of the restaurant including some of the artwork, and Vernon's "private table." The food was delicious and elaborately presented. They offer a complimentary chowder bar with every entree. I had the beef short ribs, and they were so tender. We also ordered a bottle of wine from their LONG list (they even have 30 bottles for under $30). A true dining "experience!""

  • "Hard opening 4 days ago;however,restaurant and staff have been here for some years.The menu is ambitious and the presentation is excellent. It is a hotel lobby restaurant that has been redone very well,the views during daylight would be outstanding.the occupancy this evening was about 25%,including, a large table of Marriott staff. Our server, who worked in their downstairs pub for some time,was abominable,lazy,and in some netherworld.When servers disappear for some time,I actually got my own drink from the bar,are reported to the manager,then disappear again for even longer,when not really busy,there is a serious problem with management as well.Another long term server,who knew us ,came to the rescue. ."

Now the positives • The best staff in the beaches by far. • More expansive menu • Food quality is top shelf - The swordfish was exceptional and the NY Strip was cooked perfectly • Not the largest wine list in the Jacksonville area, but very approachable with some good values, and only a few on the high side. • Seating is very comfortable and you never feel crowded • Very upscale atmosphere • The soup and chowder bar is unique, with a great selection of choices"

  • "Dining room is beautiful and feels exactly like you have stepped into a fancy magazine. Food took longer than expected to arrive. Had the parmesan crusted grouper which was slightly over cooked. The dish had great flavor due to the vegetables and sauce but the fish was a bit bland. Doubt we will be back as there are several other restaurants in the area we enjoy more."
