fish was overcooked on the grill to the point where it was chewy - spinach side was oversalted - linguini and clams passable - Italian veal dishes were ok - waiter was pleasant but poorly trained - he refused to honor happy hour prices at 5:55 although he was standing 3 feet from a sign that advertised happy hour was until 6 - when we complained about the fish he said he was sorry and would tell the chef but didn't offer to take it back or bring us another dish - he ended up not charging us for 2 glasses of wine - the bar is good pick up action for middle aged singles - live music - they give you a $20 coupon on your birthday - pleasant atmosphere at outside tables where you can watch downtown pedestrians out for an evening stroll -

The server we had was terrific, the food was good but not worth the cost. This is a big open room with high ceilings. Very noisy. Like a cafeteria. The worst part of the experience was the noise from the bar area. The bar is located in the rear of the building and they had a karaoke type performer trying to sing dance music. It got so bad that we asked to sit outside. Our server accommodated us and sat us in the side courtyard. However, this area was even closer to the bar and the doors were kept open. Speaking just for me... I don't want to hear load, poorly performed dance music when paying over $100 per plate for an Italian dinner. If the owners want to cash in on two operations at the same time, they should at least put up a barrier. This would allow those seeking a quiet dinner in an Italian restaurant to feel the ambiance, thus adding value to the experience. Sorry if this is offensive but, our wasn't a pleasant experience.

I ordered a pasta dish. It had to have been sitting on a counter for quite a while before being bought to the table as it was absolutely cold. I asked the waiter if he could have it warmed up and he returned with another dish where the pasta was so undercooked you could hear it crunch when it was bitten into. My wife ordered the Pasta Primavera and it was tasteless, oily and the vegetables way overcooked. The cocktails before dinner came without the requested ice for mine and the olives for my wife. I had taken some out of town guests to dine with me and although they were too polite to say anything to me about their food, their lack of comment told it all. I was embarrassed at the quality of food we were served and for taking my friends to this restaurant . I used to go to this restaurant fairly often and have noticed the food quality and service continually diminishing (except for the price, almost $300.00 not counting gratuity - and 2 of the orders were pasta dishes). This is not the Verginas I used to enjoy.

Nothing came as was stated on the menu. Waygu NY Cut was a not a NY cut nor was it Waygu. The Tuscan chicken breasts came as a leg, a thigh and a wing. we sent them back for two bland skinless boneless breast pan fried. They were out of the appetizer we ordered. It was just as bad as the time we went in march 2013. We looked at the menu and thought they might have changed things up. I would not recommend it.

We had a party of 8 on Halloween. Had made the reservations 2-3 weeks in advance. We had very poor service and our food was very bland. Two or three in our party had been here previously and liked it. This was a disappointing experience. We even allowed for the busy evening, but there were empty tables. The bar was packed, however. Waited ages for service. Got our order wrong. It was like the Keystone Cops! We will not be going back or recommending this restaurant.

A 2 1/2 HOUR DEBACLE IN FOOD AND SERVICE MISHAPS; WE BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEMS WERE ENDEMIC TO THE TRAINING OF SERVICE PERSONNEL, ATTITUDES, AND KITCHEN STAFF FOOD PREPARATION TECHNIQUES. IT WAS THE 3RD TIME WE HAVE DINED THERE. BESIDES INEPT LAPSES IN SERVICES, SPANNING OVER 45 MINUTES TO BRING A FIRST ROUND OF WINE/COCKTAILS, OVER AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES TO SERVE ENTREES, WHICH 2 OF 5 WERE WRONG, & ANOTHER 15 MINUTES TO CORRECT, THE FOOD WAS INDIFFERENTLY PREPARED, & ONLY 2 APPETIZERS WERE WELL PREPARED. ALL 5 ENTREES WERE POORLY PREPARED, THROUGH LACK OF TECHNIQUE, & NOT CORRECTING DIFFERENCES IN THE NATURAL INGREDIENTS. INGREDIENTS WERE HIGH QUALITY. FINAL PRODUCT SERVED WAS POOR. NEIGHBORING TABLES WERE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

My husband I were looking for a romantic and delicious meal on 5th and made reservations at Vergina. As soon as we walked in we immediately knew the ambiance and feel of Vergina had changed. There was a server behind the host desk...who flat out ignored us...the restaurant had the feel of a cafeteria...loud, bright and it wasn't even busy. The "host" who looked to be about 17 didn't even greet us...he said and I quote "wait up and I will get some menus" We both looked at each other and knew this was not how we planned on spending a Saturday evening dining in Naples. We live here year round and know it is off season...but it was not acceptable. We bailed on our reservation and headed down the block to Chops and they were wonderful as usual.

Dinner at Vergina was not up to my expectations. The quality of the food was fair and very pricey. Our server was not on task. We never got our wine or water until we were finished with our salads. When I asked the pricing of the specials, our server's comment was... We are not the people across the street with their prices "Number one rule in business"..... never talk about your competitor to the customers!!! There are many other restaurants to select from in Naples....Vergina is off our list.

This was our second visit. The first time we went our waiter was Nicko so we were sure to ask for him the second time. The service was wonderful both times. Their special menu (5:00 PM to 7:00 PM) is a very good deal with several options. The second time we went my husband ordered from the regular menu and he said the strip steak he ordered was the best he has ever had in a restaurant. Cooked and seasoned just right. He's a foodie, so trust that review. From the special menu, I have had the Tilapia and shrimp carbonara, both delicious. My mother-in-law had the veal both visits, also from the special menu.

This was my first time here. It was on a Sunday night. We arrived early 6pm to take advantage of Happy Hour at the bar. Drinks were good and out bartender was very pleasant. It was very quiet in the restaurant and at the bar. We ate in the restaurant and took advantage of the early bird special $23.95 from 7pm. Food was good, small special menu to choose from. I would definitely come back, maybe choose from the regular menu and on a different night to enjoy a more vibrant scene. Great vocalist at the bar from 830p until closing
