Diner Reviews
  • "Food portions were very small, prices were high, and the quality was equal to Olive Garden. The service was slow and the server was slow and did not show any concern to our feedback about our dinner."

  • "Great Food. Everytime I come here it is fun and geat food."

  • "Upon entering the restaurant, the hostess was very personable. We were seated promptly and attended to immediately. The server was very nice and accommodated us with our requests to vary from the menu. The food was very good as were the deserts. I would most certainly return for another dining experience"

  • "My girlfriend and I had never been there before but wanted to go somewhere on 5th that we could afford and that was romantic! It was very quiet and the service was excellent. Food was spot on and couldn't ask for anything more. We will definitely be dining there again in the future."

  • "Consistently a great experience at Vergina! We usually do not eat dessert but happened to try the Tiramisu. It is the best I have ever had!"

  • "Vergina is a nice Italian restaurant that has a great location on 5th Avenue south in Naples FL. One can dine inside or out to watch the world go by. The menu is varied, wine list good. Our waiter, Carlos, was very friendly. One observation is that they did not have cannollis for dessert."

  • "Had dinner for a party of 7. Was not very busy. Didnt get drink ordered. Overcharged for 1 entree at the end (full price vs noghtly special). Generally confusing. Salads came before appetizers."

  • "A nice menu was offered for the theater-goers special. It was our first time at Vergina, and we enjoyed it."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "This was my first time here. It was on a Sunday night. We arrived early 6pm to take advantage of Happy Hour at the bar. Drinks were good and out bartender was very pleasant. It was very quiet in the restaurant and at the bar. We ate in the restaurant and took advantage of the early bird special $23.95 from 7pm. Food was good, small special menu to choose from. I would definitely come back, maybe choose from the regular menu and on a different night to enjoy a more vibrant scene. Great vocalist at the bar from 830p until closing"

  • "Great location on 5th avenue - ordered tuna tartar for appetizer, absolutely tasteless. No seasoning nor fresh juice whatsoever. Eggplant rollatini was tasty though. Hubby ordered the special with salad and veal masala - quite small in size for both - average tasting."

  • "Lots of italian dining in Naples. We chose Vergina based on the website and a later locals recommendation. Dined at 8:30 on a Friday early June and the the bar in the rear of the restaurant was getting busy. This made for a little more noise. Most diners were on the patio, very few inside the restaurant. We had nice wine and cocktails, pasta and paella and salads. Skipped dessert :( It was very good, service was good. It didn't knock my socks off, wasn't a surprise, but was very good. Because there is so much italian in the area, I'd try somewhere else a second time around."

  • "I asked friends where to dine in Naples and they immediately recommended Vergina's. The food was outstanding - the bread, the wine, and everything in between. Spectacular!!"

  • "One of our favorite restaurant in Naples. The service has always been very good, and the staff wants to please. Whenever we have guests visiting us this is the restaurant we take them too. Outside dining is wonderful. "

  • "Definitely up there for Naples. Good food, responsive wait staff, friendly environment. Outside seating is better than inside unless you like heavy A/C for your dining. The food was good and the bar scene is good for both couples and singles. Granted, it is geared for the over 40 crowd, but it's still very lively. Much more than expected."

  • "Attentive service, competitive prices in a high-priced market, in the heart of bustling Naples -- fun to sit outdoors and watch the tourists stroll by. Food is very good, but if you're looking for a steak, don't come here. Strictly Italian -- lots of pasta and seafood and one or two chicken dishes."

  • " We sat outside and enjoyed a view of passers by on 5th Avenue. The service was good, though a bit on the slow side. In fairness to our waitress, we told her we were in no hurry. The bread came out first, typical Italian hard rolls which were fine, though I prefer whole grain and more interesting breads. My husband enjoyed Smoked Parmigiana appetizer. I asked for a "side" of the carmelized brussel sprouts. They were delicious, but the portion was huge! It was meant to be a side for the entire table, not just for one person. I wish the waitress had let me know this. I took home the leftovers. My husband had the Branzino and really loved it. I had a taste, the flavors were really delicious! I enjoyed the seafood papperdelle. "

  • "We have dined at Vergina's many times and never had a disappointing meal. The food is always consistent and the location is so central. Always a fun evening."

  • "Only a true Mediterrean would have Ouzo available and other aperitif cordials, delicious charcuterie dish, not enough olives however. Great dance music after 9pm. wonderful food, fun and location!"

  • "The waiter was great, the food was amazing, we sat outside and watched the world go by. The only negetative was the woman at the next table who never stopped talking. She was loud and disturbing, unfortunately there is nothing the Restuarant can do about that."

  • "We dined there on a Friday evening. The outdoor seating is a suitable distance away from the busy street. The early dining menu offered a nice list of items at a good price. The olive oil that accompanied the bread to the table was among the best I've tasted with roasted garlic cloves and herbs. The house Pinot Grigio was delicious. The special dining menu offered a garden salad but my request for a Caesar was cheerfully accommodated. The shrimp carbonara was very good with sizeable pieces of bacon. I had the chicken parmesan with linguini which featured a nice rustic red sauce. We look forward to returning."

  • "While the food was good, the service and attitude of the staff was atrocious. We were greeted as if we hadn't made a reservation The waiter took 20 minutes to come to us and then apologized that they were short staffed and left. He came back after another 20 minutes to tell us "he was now ready for us!" We asked 2 different "waiters" for bread [ couldn't find our waiter] and they nodded and left but did not deliver any. The main meal took such a long time that we were all yawning and feeling disappointed. It was not to capacity even after restaurant was 1/2 full - guess kitchen was also short staffed!!. Our waiter was apologetic but frankly the owner should have come over and apologized."

  • "Great dining! We had three in our party, two had the salmon and loved it. I had the seafood paella and it was very good. We dined outside, enjoying the 5Th Ave scene. JAJ RI "

  • "I am a business person in Naples and invited a client out for dinner. I ordered Rigatoni Bolongese it was like eating a big bowl of ground meat in sauce with very few rigatonis. My client ordered the chicken with brussel sprouts and she said it was ok my husband ordered the sea bass and it was bland and tatseless. I was surprised as we used to eat at verginas regularly when it was under different management and always had a great meal. There were empty tables in the dining room but the outdoor patio was filled. The bar secene is great the singer is fabulous and if you like to dance this is where to go. My suggestion is to eat somewhere else. The bill was over 200.00 with tip. It was not worth the price."

  • "I have been here many times and will surely return. One can sit at an outdoor table and watch the world go by. My friend and I sat for a very long time chatting and the staff was very pleasant about it. Beautiful salads , nice wine by the glass and lunch specials are what brings me back here."

  • "Menu was diverse. Seafood was delicious. Steak was fabulous. Pasta was scrumptious. Salad was awesome. Wine list was basic but overall Ok."

  • "Met friends there and asked for a certain location which Vergina was happy to comply. My meal and my husbands was exceptional as was our friends. We chatted for quite some time with no push to leave. wine to coffee enjoyed and cannot wait to return"

  • "We were seated in a corner outside and was raining so limited view. Menu was small and looking for a steak which was not offered."

  • "sat on porch under cover via transparent protective sheets in a heavy rain (rare in Naples) and had a wonderful romantic meal- we visit several times/season for 7or more years and the place continues to be outstanding in a competitive restaurant scene-would strongly recommend it-diverse menu/great device in a unique setting with friendly staff"

  • "Very nice ambience, yet that specific night one of their ovens broke and the food took 1 hr, we had our two small children with us and it was late. In the end we didn't want the good after 1 hr both our kids fell asleep and we had to leave. The positive was that they didn't charge us for anything. I would give it another chance if I'm ever back in Naples. I don't think this experience reflects on the restaurant normal operation."

  • "Very nice restaurant Wouldn't hesitate to go back."

  • "Had a lovely meal off the early menu at Vergina's. Service and food were very good. Outdoor patio was large and was possible to reserve a table on the patio. On-line booking was convenient. Because of the number of outdoor tables you are not sitting so close to the road as at many of the other restaurants on 5th Ave Naples but still get to enjoy the unique atmosphere of downtown Naples. It is nice that they offer gluten-free pasta options."

  • "Cornish Game Hen was a treat. The focus is on Italian dishes but also has other options. Friendly service but the kitchen is a bit slow."

  • "We've eaten here many times over the past 10 years and it was a wonderful experience again. We brought two guests who have lived in Europe for many years and have eaten at truly the finest dining establishments. They were impressed with the food and the wonderful recommendations Angie made. She was terrific!! Both our guests indicated this was the best food they'd had in a long time and especially in Florida. We LOVE Vergina!! And Angie, you are a gem!"

  • "We've been to Vergina several times and I do think the quality of food has slipped a bit. I had two appetizes, the carpaccio which was not as lean as I've had, and escargot which was quite good but did not include any toast or bread for getting the last of the butter garlic sauce. The service, however, was wonderful."

  • "This was a quiet Monday at 2000. Four of us enjoyed tremendous food and wine and drinks at the bar for about $450 including tax and tip but no appetizers. The tip was 18% added to the bill and we gave our waiter a bit extra. The service was friendly, courteous and attentive but not in your face. We finished up with more drinks at the bar and an hour on the dance floor until the music ended. A brilliant evening for our penultimate night in Naples."
