  • "This was our 2nd visit in 2 weeks. The 1st was excellent: we sat outside on a gorgeous evening & everything was great. We were slightly overwhelmed by the menu, but didn't pay much mind. 2nd visit: we wanted to try something new & the menu made it difficult to decide- the organization is overwhelming & not well thought out. We were bothered when the chef would not add mushrooms to a vegetarian pizza that was covered in other veggies. It was extremely loud sitting inside & there are far too many tables squeezed in (our chairs touched the people sitting behind us). We would go back, but only to sit outside ordering our original choices, one of which was the uova bianca."

  • "Nice decor, ambiance, but still casual.. Friendly, competent staff, who worked very well together. We had cocktails, which were tasty, split a salad (plenty for two, and delicious),a housemade sausage and wild mushroom pizza (ditto), and a very nice, reasonably priced, glass of Chianti. (Wine list as a whole is well-priced, with informative descriptions.) The flourless chocolate cake was OK, but a bit dry, while the accompanying dulce de leche ice cream was great. The only blip was the tiramisu - our slice appeared not to have been soaked, so it was really just layer cake with a lot of very nice whipped cream on top. Our server tasted it and told us she thought it was OK, but they willingly took it back. Use the valet parking."

  • "I have had some great experiences with new restaurants I've found on Open Table and this was no exception. Wonderful fresh high quality food prepared in a brick oven. Everything we ordered was amazing. From the spinach and Gorgonzola salad, to our apple and raisin pizza dessert, everything was exceptional. Would recommend it to everyone and will definitely go again!"

  • "In the two times that my family has been to Verde, we've never been disappointed by the food or atmosphere. The variety of pizzas is a little overwhelming and a knowledgeable server can be really helpful, particularly if you want wine to pair with your meal. On our first visit to Verde, our server was incredibly helpful in guiding our decisions based on our described preferences. During our most recent visit, the server was adequate but unremarkable. The dining experience was still perfectly nice, but this restaurant can really shine when all facets of the experience come together."

  • "Verde for lunch one sunny June Sunday: everything served beautifully, deliciously, proudly. Do no understand one thing. There were three lovely empty tables on the sidewalk under the trees with umbrellas and we were seated at a sunny table for two, no umbrella, up against the building. We were a party of two women, Those umbrella tables remained empty the whole time we were there. Although when the waiter returned to our tiny table with a large pizza take-home box, I said - where will this fit? He went to put it on one of the large empty tables with the umbrella - so I guess we couldn't sit there put our take-home food could. Sorry - the seating thing was irritating."

  • "Have been dying to get here after a friend claimed they have the "best pizza in Baltimore." I'd have to agree! Took advantage of the 1/2 bottle of wine night on a Tuesday, shared a pizza and salad and it was fantastic. Service was wonderful. Wish we had more time in Baltimore to come back here again! "

  • "In the early days, I loved the decor of this place but took issue with the "no substitutions" rule and wasn't too impressed with the gluten free crust. But we recently decided to give them another try and this time I was totally into it. Now that Tutti Gusti has changed their gluten free crust, Verde's version is clearly the best in town. The food was really great and the service and ambience was delightful as well. "

  • "I initially went to Verde because of a pizza and wine tasting groupon I bought and was very impressed by everything at this restaurant. My mom came into town the weekend before Mother's Day and we wanted a nice place to take her to celebrate, this trip was just as amazing. The food is just great. My favorite thing is the homemade borrata mozzarella...it is just terrific. Other than that we, a group of 4, split a salad and 3 different pizzas. We loved everything. And all of the staff was just so pleasant, fun, and knowledgeable."

  • "My son and I chose the fixed price 3 coarse menu, which also included a cocktail. I still can't sop talking about the salad I received. The gorgonzola cheese & apples that were in it, were sliced perfectly thin and displayed beautifully. We did brunch pizzas that were excellent and ended up having to take our desserts home, which was a nice treat later. Can't wait to go again and try some of the traditional pizzas, and bring a few friends. It was the perfect day for an outdoor brunch!"

We ordered a bunch of pizzas to share and they were all very good, with one that was especially tasty -- the Verdura Delizia. Smoky gouda, butternut squash creme, and assorted veggies. Yum!   • "I so wish Verde was closer to where I live, but then again, I might not go to any other restaurants if it was! I first went to Verde for a wine tasting & pizza pairing event. I was so impressed that I took my family there as soon as I could swing it. We had a fantastic dinner! We couldn't resist each getting a pizza to share, so we had plenty to take home for another meal. We enjoyed talking to the owner and seeing the pizzas being made. I just wish the noise level was a little lower. We will definitely go back!"

  • "Simply the best pizza and calzones in Baltimore. They have worked hard to not just do the normal "Italian food" thing. They also have a nice vegan selection and if you are a fan of fresh mozzarella, they serve up some amazing appetizers involving this creamy delight. The owners are almost always on site and will, more than likely, stop by and have a conversation with you."

  • "This is the second time I've been to verde and the second great experience all around. The food is really good, especially the fresh salads and the gluten free pizza. It's hard to find GOOD gluten free pizza that has you questioning whether they served you the right meal. The only downside is that they add $6 onto an already pricey pie. Other than that, Verde is great!!! Highly recommend you check it out. "

  • "A true taste of Europe -- chewy, thin-crust neapolitan pizza the way it was meant to be. The dough is fantastic, and it's clear that everything is made of scratch. Highly recommend the butternut squash cream pizza, "Verdura Delizia." Nice outdoor seating, and good selection of wine and beer (some nice craft beer selections too). Perfect for a date!"

  • "Verde has fantastic pizzas...very worth the visit for the pizzas alone. Great cheeses, and hard to find good mozza and burrata. The specialty burrata pizza takes like a good margherita pizza...very good. $20 price is a bit steep however. The rest of their food needs some work. For instance, the prosciutto is too thick (should be super thin...not close to thickness of bacon, though could just be not kept well). Looking forward to visiting again."

The food is fresh, the pizza crust is perfect, charred to perfection, and the pistacchio and sausage pizza has become our favorite. The service is efficient and extremely friendly, and the owners are very present. We love everything about Verde, the interior design, the quality of the food, the simplicity and quality of the ingredients, the smiles on the faces, the outdoor tables during the summer, and the extremely well crafted cocktails, and a very strong and interesting offer of various beers, local or Italian. It cannot get better!"

  • "We have tried eating here several times because we only live one block away, but each time we walk away extremely underwhelmed and disappointed. The service here is awful and the staff is unflexible. We asked to sit by a window and we were the only people in the restaurant and it took 5 minutes to confer with management to allow it. The food and drink prices are also really high for what you get and almost every time we've gone our order has come out wrong. One time the owner told us WE didn't order what we said.. I'm sorry but why would we order a mushroom pizza when no one at the table likes mushrooms.."

  • "The ambiance of Verde Pizza is incredible! Walking up to the little corner restaurant is an experience as it positively glows! It is one of the most warm and inviting spots I've come across. The lighting achieves this effect while the wood burning oven brings it to life. The restaurant is small and was crowded on a Friday night but for me this is a good sign and not a negative aspect. We were seated immediately even though we had changed our reservation from 8:15 to 8:45 at the last minute. The staff are friendly and accommodating without being overly attentive. And the food.. So great! We each ordered our own pizza (the perfect size for one if you're hungry like we were!) Tiramisu and espresso for dessert. A perfect date!"
