Diner Reviews
  • "On short notice decided to meet a friend and grab a bit. Started with an outstanding Margareta followed with a dinner of bib lettuce salad, a cheese course, Mahi Mahi fish tacos, garlic shrimp, and a salmon dish. The salad was fresh with blu cheese and a light dressing. The fish tacos were outstanding and the garlic shrimp is always one of my favorites. The salmon grilled and lightly seasoned; delightful. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall an experience I would recommend and plan to experience again. "

  • "We had a wonderful dinner on Saturday night at Verdad. The food and drinks were delicious. After reading reviews online, we decided to order slowly as the review had recommended. It was defintely the way to go. As a group of 5, we order rounds of 2 to 3 different dishes and split them into bite sized tastes. it was nice to try lots of different dishes and were all sooo good. We opted to skip desserty and get the Plantains. it was the way to go, the plantains were my favorite dish of the night!! Also recommend the carne asado tacos, shortribs, striped bass and just about everything else. Be adventurous and try the mixed drinks -- they are yummy!"

  • "The paella, both that they offer on their menu are very good. All of the small plates we ordered were tasty and the food came out as it was ready."

  • "We really enjoyed our meal at Verdad but be aware that the portions are a little larger than those in a traditional tapas restaurant so it's probably enough to start with two a piece and order more if you are still hungry."

  • "This place was a last minute decision that turned out great! The fish was cooked so well and the duck was simply amazing. Good cappuccino as well to finish the meal. Really happy we found this place."

  • "We had a very disappointed experience here last Saturday. There were 6 of us for an 8 o'clock reservation. We were seated upstairs (cut off and has a completely different vibe to downstairs). We all ordered individually (I will have the...)- albeit they were tapas but he brought out 3 meals and then came back 5 mins later surprised that we hadn't started eating and asked if we wanted them all together. So, another 5 mins later the 4th came out. 5 minutes later, the 5th. Mine was the last to come and despite waiting for over 15min for my food to come before I finally convinced them to eat because their food was cold, they were all finished by the time I got my plate. The waiter apologized once insincerely and that was that- badly dealt with."

  • "This is a terrific tapas bar restaurant, although the portions are Americanized for tapas. And so are the prices. It costs us $80 tax and tip for one glass of wine each, and four plates, one of which was a salad. Remember you share everything. The food is well cooked and delicious. We had the calamari, the bibb salad, the mahi taco (my favorite) and the scallops. We were going to the movies next door, and asked for expedited service and got it. If we had stayed any longer it would have been a $300 dinner."

  • "Very nice selection if tequilas. Plan ahead and take in a movie at the theater next door."

  • "We ordered a variety if things to share. Within 20 minutes, we had 75% of our order delivered. This was after we asked the waiter to pace the delivery. This seems to be the specialty of the restaurant-how fast can we serve your food as this has happened numerous times. My advice for any unsuspecting diners is to order only one or two things at a time and set your own pace."

  • "The food far exceede our expectations. We can't wait to go back."

  • "We have been to Verdad several times and have enjoyed a good proportion of the menu... in fact we have not made one bad choice in this place. Service was excellent, bar, in this visit, one misstep with a slightly over-earnest plate clearing. Having said that, a Tapas style restaurant needs to have a rapid turnover of dishes so maybe I was too fussy. Every staff member is without fail, friendly and professional and the restaurant has a super atmosphere. Thanks for a great meal!"

  • "We had a great experience at Verdad. The caiperina cocktail was best I had ever had. The beef short ribs were tender and moist. Food was absolutely out of this world. Highly recommended for a night out."

  • "My husband and I tried this restaurant after numerous recommendations from friends. We somehow did not know it was a small plate restaurant but the waiter explained everything to us upon hearing it was our first time there. The food was excellent and brought out at appropriate intervals, we were pleasantly full without being stuffed and I finally learned I like my margaritas on the rocks!! :) We will return again and next time, bring friends!!"

  • "I was treating a friend from out of town and our server Rachel was phenomenal. She knew the menu, was able to give recommendations according to our tastes, and her demeanor was so gracious. I would absolutely go back AND recommend Verdad!"

  • "Our reservations were at 7 we were not seated until 745. The host was not in the least bit apologetic . In fact another group who arrived aftert us was seated before us. The rest of the evening just went downhill from there ."

  • "I think Verdad is consistently good, and my favorite local place to go for a mojito."

  • "Every single dish we ordered, from salad to venison to tacos to seafood, was wonderful. Spice was just right, portions perfect. The wine list emphasizes Chilean and Spanish wines--both kinds we tried we good. My mother and sister loved their margaritas too. Service was well-paced. As we finished a dish, or as we were finishing, the next one came out. I already planning my next trip."

  • "Verdad features a nice variety of delicious small plate dishes. Although at times it seems like they lost track of all our orders, in the end we got everything and most of it was quite flavorful."

  • "We really liked the food. The service was sad, very sad. Maybe it was because we sat up stairs. The first round of drinks took longer than the first dish. The second round, well even the waitress said "I guess you thought I forgot about you". Even though the food was good it is hard to enjoy when you are annoyed by he service."

  • "Went with a girl on a first date here. Good atmosphere and great food. The booths are cozy. The food is a tad pricey, but that's tapas pretty much everywhere. Definitely worth checking out."

  • "We love Verdad for many reasons; it's close, the tequila, the food, the tequila, the food, and oh did I mention the tequila!"

  • "Excellent Latin fusion cuisine. Tapas-style menu lends perfectly for sharing but also tend to add to the bill. Diversified offering of cocktails and extensive list of premium, blue agave tequilas. Friendly and professional staff. I will not wait for my next birthday for a repeat visit."

  • "I went to Verdad with my family and they were accommodating, warm hearted, and the food was excellent."

  • "We dined at Verdad with a group of 7 including a ten year old, two teenagers and two college kids. There was something for everyone and we tried quite a few different dishes and shared them. Everything was hot, tasty, and interesting. The rice and beans were too spicy for the ten year old but that wasn't a big deal. The desserts were great. Would definitely return."

  • "Great food and atmosphere, definitely a good night out....but......... some of the menu selections are quite small for the $$ and the drinks are expensive by comparison with other restaurants in the area."

  • "the concept is awesome , the delivery on the concept comes up a little short on some items , frozen gnocchi ? seasoning is important"
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "Started with some guacamole and chips, which were fantastic! The salsa had a little strawberry in it which just gave it a tiny bit of sweetness. Would come back just for that! Then, had my favorite Kobe beef tacos. Yummy!"

  • "Great food. We really enjoyed everything we ate. The only thing was seating was a little tight"

  • "we loved this place. everything we ate was great. our server was Tyrone and he was super friendly and great at his job. we will definitely come back."

  • "Our only complaint is that the dishes did not always come when they should have for an optimum "small plates" dining experience. That said, the food was delicious and the servers did their best with a busy kitchen. This restaurant has a really nice vibe. We are older diners, but the room seemed lively enough for singles at the bar and younger couples and groups to enjoy it as much as we did!"

  • "My lady friend and I had arrived a little later than expected due to the weather but the hostess managed to get us a table within a short 15 minute wait since we had made the reservation. The food was SUPERB (contrary to some internet reviews) and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Our server was very attentive and courteous throughout our entire dining experience. The Kobe Beef Sliders and the Tacos de Pollo were out of this world. No complaints here and expect a repeat visit."

  • "Nice tapas good selection everything we had was served ontime hot and delicious. Typical spanish menu nothing unique or unsual. We ordered a small plate for each of our party of 4 while we waited for our chicken paella. The duck fundia was best of The bunch, the paella was good but not great, the menu said it would serve 6 so the ratio of rice to protein was very uneven this was our second visit but doubt if we will go agsin."

  • "The ambience is great here & that is important to me but that's only second to the great food they prepare. I have tried many different tapas choices over the few years I have been going and each one is as delicious as the other. Usually the items are paced perfectly however this last time recently they were brought out almost at the same time. It felt rushed and the cheesy cauliflower got a bit cold as we were eating the other items. We didn't complain or ask what was going on as this is usually NOT a normal occurrence. I highly recommend Verdad for couples or for parties of four. It really isn't a place for big parties in my opinion unless they have a room upstairs that I don't know about. The location of Verdad is great too."

  • "Great tapas style dining. Everything we ate was wonderful. Tiny tacos are a must have. They advised to order 2-3 items per person. Two is probably plenty. We ordered 6 for two people and we were stuffed! The serving sizes are pretty large for tapas."

  • "i'd bear with that same server again, just to be able to enjoy the delicious dishes this place provides. We did a variety of tapas, and surprisingly the least expensive one (Chicken Tacos) was my favorite! Then the table next to us ordered a seafood paella, and I vowed to come back and get that some day."

  • "Love that you could order Tapas of as many or as few as we wanted. Recommend the short ribs and the shrimp especially. Waiter was wonderful as a guide."
