Verdad Restaurant and Tequila Bar in Bryn Mawr with Executive Chef Nick Farina have embarked on creating the first Euro-Latin restaurant on the Main Line. While maintaining true Latin flavors and incorporating fusion style techniques, Chef Farina has set the ground work for a light and truly enjoyable dining experience.
By offering a menu that encompasses the full culinary spectrum with traditional Valencia styled Paella to Pineapple Cherry & Tequila Duck Breast, he has graced the area with a true tapas restaurant.
With a selection of over 70 varieties of tequilas, Verdad creates an exciting foundation for a variety of refreshing and unique margaritas.

  • "We ordered too much food, actually, but enjoyed all the dishes. You gotta be good with meat at Verdad--I especially recommend the pork belly, but lots of the small plates were delicious. They also make a good caipirinha. My only negative is that the order of the dishes could be improved on (we ordered them all at once): the lobster frittata and the flatbread would have been better early, with the heavier dishes later."

  • "Tried Verdad for the first time during Happy Hour and had a great time. Great selection of drinks and wine and we ordered small plates at the bar. The short rib which was a bit expensive for it's size was amazing in every bite. The bar staff and waitress who helped us were polite, and knowledgeable about the offerings.The best I think I've had in Phila and this includes some expensive restaurants. I've heard the food quality can vary, but our experience was top notch. We will definitely return."

  • "We have always liked this place, but we hadn't been in a while -- the new menu is superb: harder to choose than usual. Since this purports to be tapas place, where you order multiple items, this didn't seem to be a problem -- until the food started arriving: The portions have grown substantially, so you can' really order lots of things per person -- any one is basically a meal in itself. Too bad, because everything was even better than before, so I'd like to go back and try every item on the menu; the only bad thing I can say about that is that it will require 20 visits...."

  • "This was my first time going to Verdad restaurant. It was fun! The food is a mix of Spanish style tapas made to share at the table, and entree dishes (We got both, and shared everything). Great sangria, both white and red. They have mojitos, in addition to a full tequila selection. Food was delicious. A neighborhood gem! Highly recommend going to if you live in the Ardmore/Bryn Mawr/Haverford area of the Main Line."

  • "We were a party of two couples, and each of us had the lunch special (soup + a single taco). The kobe beef tacos were not great. The beef was tougher than skirt steak, and required fingers once the taco was in your mouth, as the strips were so long and tough that you couldn't bite them off. Awkward and not impressive, as kobe is supposed to be really high grade beef, right? The tortilla and sauce were nice, and the taco was large. Our tablemate got the carnitas taco and she liked it. The crab chowder tasted good, but was so thick/creamy it was more like a dip."

  • "Three of us dined at Verdad on the 7th. We had a round of drinks at the bar before sitting down and both bartenders were extremely attentive, hospitable and knew their wines/liquors. You must try the Mexican Mojito! Dinner was fabulous. We started out with the mahi tacos, DLT, chips and quacamole and the spicy rub tuna. All were amazing. Main courses to share included the mariscos and the pork belly. Both are out of this world. Marc was out server and took great care of us. All of the staff was attentive and accommodating. We can't wait to come back! "

  • "This great tapas and tequila restaurant is right next door to the Bryn Mawr movie theater. We arrived with only 45 minutes to spare, and the waiter enthusiastically took on the challenge, recommending items that would arrive rapidly and were still delicious! The booths are incredibly uncomfortable, so opt for a table. Otherwise, a great place to take your time, or enjoy something fast and light!"

One thing I should add is that being seated upstairs is a bit of a double edged sword. It's nice in that it's quieter, but not so nice in that it seems like it makes service times longer, etc."

  • "On short notice decided to meet a friend and grab a bit. Started with an outstanding Margareta followed with a dinner of bib lettuce salad, a cheese course, Mahi Mahi fish tacos, garlic shrimp, and a salmon dish. The salad was fresh with blu cheese and a light dressing. The fish tacos were outstanding and the garlic shrimp is always one of my favorites. The salmon grilled and lightly seasoned; delightful. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall an experience I would recommend and plan to experience again. "

  • "We had a wonderful dinner on Saturday night at Verdad. The food and drinks were delicious. After reading reviews online, we decided to order slowly as the review had recommended. It was defintely the way to go. As a group of 5, we order rounds of 2 to 3 different dishes and split them into bite sized tastes. it was nice to try lots of different dishes and were all sooo good. We opted to skip desserty and get the Plantains. it was the way to go, the plantains were my favorite dish of the night!! Also recommend the carne asado tacos, shortribs, striped bass and just about everything else. Be adventurous and try the mixed drinks -- they are yummy!"

  • "This is a terrific tapas bar restaurant, although the portions are Americanized for tapas. And so are the prices. It costs us $80 tax and tip for one glass of wine each, and four plates, one of which was a salad. Remember you share everything. The food is well cooked and delicious. We had the calamari, the bibb salad, the mahi taco (my favorite) and the scallops. We were going to the movies next door, and asked for expedited service and got it. If we had stayed any longer it would have been a $300 dinner."

  • "We ordered a variety if things to share. Within 20 minutes, we had 75% of our order delivered. This was after we asked the waiter to pace the delivery. This seems to be the specialty of the restaurant-how fast can we serve your food as this has happened numerous times. My advice for any unsuspecting diners is to order only one or two things at a time and set your own pace."

  • "We have been to Verdad several times and have enjoyed a good proportion of the menu... in fact we have not made one bad choice in this place. Service was excellent, bar, in this visit, one misstep with a slightly over-earnest plate clearing. Having said that, a Tapas style restaurant needs to have a rapid turnover of dishes so maybe I was too fussy. Every staff member is without fail, friendly and professional and the restaurant has a super atmosphere. Thanks for a great meal!"

  • "My husband and I tried this restaurant after numerous recommendations from friends. We somehow did not know it was a small plate restaurant but the waiter explained everything to us upon hearing it was our first time there. The food was excellent and brought out at appropriate intervals, we were pleasantly full without being stuffed and I finally learned I like my margaritas on the rocks!! :) We will return again and next time, bring friends!!"
