Verdad Restaurant and Tequila Bar2nd Time June 15 2013My wife and I celebrated our 7th Anniversary here, this is our second time eating at Verdad, and the foos was SPECTAULAR!
Great Atmosphere, Staff was exceptional, and the manager Jeff was Great.

The food is always outstanding as well as the service. For large groups the Paella is absolutely amazing and can easily feed 8. The rabbit is also an exceptional dish.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMpleasantly surprisedHad never been to Verdad before. Each plate was delicious, especially the strawberry habanero and guacamole. They describe the restaurant as "tapas" style and recommend five dishes for two people. We could have ordered three or four and been satisfied with the amount of food. We sat by the open windows at the front of the restaurant, and the traffic noise (around 6pm on a Tuesday) on Lancaster Ave got a little loud, but that was our choice to sit there. We were incredibly blown away by the quality of food as well as our service. We ordered about 10 dishes to share for our table. The drinks were incredible! I definitely recommend this restaurant to someone who not only loves to eat, but loves the tapas style restaurant. The best surprise this time was guacamole with strawberries -- delicious combination. They also have big plates that are meant to be shared when coming with a big group. The food was nicely presented and although the restaurant was a bit loud overall, I could still hear my friend talking and have our meal. For lack of better words, IT WAS AWESOME! I love sitting at chef's tables and this did not disappoint. The food was fantastic (as usual) and it was great interacting with the ceviche chef. We were promptly seated. It took the waiter a bit to come over to us, which was understandable since they were busy. He forgot to read us the specials and the tasting menu, which I can only forgive because I was already set on my order anyway. Otherwise, that would have been a bit disappointing. Our last tapas prior to the paella took FOREVER to come out (something must have happened) but they gave us a free plate while we waited which was DELICIOUS! so no complaints here. There's a great variety of food on the menu, mostly of Spanish and Latin influence, and all quite tasty. The empanadas and tacos were particularly memorable. He is one of the reasons we love Verdad since he always caters to our every desire while dining. He is a terrific waiter and conversationalist. We had 5 or 6 tapas and every one of them was great. Truly great. We also both enjoyed a margarita - the taste was great but they were very light on tequila - surprising given this is a tequila bar. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful, our waiter was attentive. The Food was AWESOME. We ordered the calamari and empenadas to start, LOVED them both. Next we had the lobster gnocchi and finished with the churros. The flavors were exciting and new, we ate it all with gusto.
The hostess offered for us to sit right away but warned that the table for two in the middle of the room is a flurry of activity all around. Next time (and there will definitely be a next time) we will wait for a better table as the 2 tables in the center of the room near the kitchen are stressful for patrons and servers alike.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice place with innovativeVery nice place with innovative and tasty food that you'd never prepare at home. One caveat about the menu: Don't let the relatively low prices fool you. It is a tapas joint, which means that per person, you generally order 2 dishes. That said, I really love the idea of small plates, and getting just the right amount of many tasty dishes.
