A word from Ventuno
Ventuno is an island restaurant inspired by the frascas of Italy, small farmhouses which opened themselves up to friends and neighbors with wine and homemade food.
Executive Chefs Gabriel Frasca and Amanda Lydon, with Chef De Cuisine Andrea Solimeo, delight in imagining Nantucket shellfish, fish and produce in Italian hands. House-cut pasta and simple takes on the bounty of sea and land are complemented by a carefully curated Italian wine list.
Drink and eat our entire menu on either dining room floor or bar, or the open-air back bar, with comfortable service and the inviting breeze of the ocean.

  • "Loved the strozzapretti w chx sausage & broccoli rabe. Also had a special of raw oysters w shaved ice & lemon...to die for! Cool, small outdoor dining space."

  • "The food, once it arrives is really delicious. The service is non existentent. The servers do not suffer from bad attitude but just need training. Our server was completely in that the dark about the wine list and the when asked about gluten free options, we were told that they had gluten free pasta then the person with the gluten allergy was given bread by the same person. It was actually funny. Go for the food, bring patience for the service."

  • "Had a delicious meal with our three teenagers. Every course was terrific. Would highly recommend for a special night out. Updated Italian menu."

  • "If you're looking for traditional Italian, this is not the right place. There is hardly anything traditional on the very PRICEY menu, which in itself is very odd. The waitress was very far off in here estimate of portion size, so instead of ordering half portions, we ordered full, and ended up having far too much leftover food and paying an extra $36 for it... As for the food, there was far too many flavors going on, and a serious over usage of garlic in the spaghetti with clams. Other weird notes about this place..one small slice of bread is served person, fried lemons in the calamari, a very uncharming atmosphere. If you like hoity toity dining, this is your spot, otherwise, don't expect to enjoy it for the price."

  • "So many choices, all awesome! We had the scallops and cod entrees, my daughter had the oysters, I had a salad. Everything was great. The portions were a little bigger than usual for Nantucket. Our server was very knowledgable and paced the meal perfectly."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "So many wonderful menu choices but the deep fried sausage stuffed starter is a given every time I am there. I try to make different selections each time and just when I think I've decided the server offers the specials!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Waitress didn't seem to care for changes being made to any of the orders! I am a vegetarian and most of the pasta dishes had meat. My changes werent major. The dish was really good but the amount of the full portion was like a half portion at any other restaurant. Felt the price was ridiculous.... Otherwise it was good...."

  • "Service could have been better. Have eaten here in the past and enjoyed it more in previous visits."

  • "Our server, although pleasant, continually interrupted our table conversation instead of waiting for a break in the conversation. It happened so much it was noticed by everyone at the table. If you want to be a high class restaurant, be respectful of the people talking. The bus person also tried to clear individual plates b4 others were finished - several times - our guest finally had to say - cant you see, not all of us are finished!!!! Other than that, the meal was delish! Thanks."

  • "Service was terrible. Food was good. Our orders were rushed and over lapped courses. When we complained we were ignored for the rest of the evening. Bill took forever to come. Never again. Oran Mor much finer restaurant "

  • "Fabulous old historic building in downtown Nantucket retains its old flavor. Italian menu very interesting & was unusual & outstanding. Our appetizers & entries were beyond our expectations. We will definitely return. House wine by the glass is expensive."

  • "Have been to Ventuno's a number of times. This time we had a tiny table for 5 people. Which could have worked had the plates not been the size of ufo's. MUCH to big for table's diameter, so the plate edge overlapped the end of table over your lap. The food was good but the kitchen was VERY slow. We were there for almost 3 hours for an app, entree & coffee. Upstairs is overwhelmingly noisy...what? What? What?"
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "Not this time unfortunately! The food was still very good but the evening was ruined due to excessive noise levels from the bar. I realize it was Wine Festival weekend and that the bar was more crowded than usual. However, our table was in an area right next to the bar and the people kept encroaching into the dining area. We asked to be moved but was told that was not possible. Not sure why since there was a table for two in the next room that was vacant for most of our time there. The manager offered to buy us a drink but that really didn't do much to make our dining experience much better. The service was a bit slow as well (however our server was very nice ) We will not be back for awhile, especially during any special events!"

  • "Very noisy. But fun. Terrific food and service. Diners need to be aware on busy nights there is a very noisy bar scene that can affect diners trying to have intimate evenings when seated in certain locations. Best to discuss that ahead whenaking reservation"

  • "Ventuno continues to be an island favorite. Wether dining at the bar or nestled in one of the homes quaint rooms, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful; the food delicious. Be sure to try the meatballs for an appetizer."

  • "A great Sunday night dinner!!! Unfortunately we were seated at the first table as you enter the restaurant so it was a bit loud with everyone entering and leaving. The food was really good other than the broccoli rabe that seemed to be extremely bitter. Broccoli rabe is generally bitter but this was to the extreme. The chicken and the pasta were fantastic!!! We will most certainly go back."

  • "I chose Ventuno to surprise my fiancée with a nice dinner. She's been wanting to try Ventuno for some time now, so I booked the reservation. The setting was wonderful, service even more-so. Now the food, let me tell you, I haven't stopping thinking about. I had the prime sirloin and she had the chicken entrée. We were both absolutely blown away. We highly recommend to all-"

  • "Old 21 Federal location in the heart of Nantucket. Intimate, lovely. Duck confit was great! Interesting menu. Service was spotty; ratio of tables to waiters seemed unbalanced but as the evening progressed and other diners finished, we did receive improved service. Comparatively, we had better service when dining there in peak season (August), so probably an end of prime season issue. Overall, very nice."

  • "We had a very good experience at Ventuno. The space is very attractive, you feel like you are in an old nantucket home, with a modern twist. The service was great, and most importantly the food was too! The freshly made pasta dishes are a must try."

  • "Food was excellent - oysters with meyer lemon ice a highlight, swordfish off the boat fresh, duck breast and polenta fabulous. Fairly reasonably priced for Nantucket ($30 entrees, drinks expensive though). Waitstaff share the table, which caused some confusion (two different people came to ask if we needed water, drinks, ready to order), and after table was cleared we waited something like 20 min before anyone came by to ask if we wanted dessert or check. I had to find a waiter myself and just ask for the check. A lost opportunity to sell us on dessert, which I would've considered, but at this point it was getting late."

  • "Great spot at 21federal. Food and service was excellent. We had a Caesar salad made with local Baby kale , a homemade pasta dish with turkey sausage broccoli rabe in a cream Sauce. For the entrees my wife had grilled swordfish and I had scallops and shrimp which Was there signature dish."

  • "Like everything else on Nantucket, Venuto is expensive, but it offers something in return. The menu is inventive, mixing fresh local ingredients and the sort of technique one is unlikely to muster at home. (In contrast to the more characteristic Nantucket restaurant practice of offering a $60 piece of, e.g., swordfish, one might easily throw on the grill.) Several menus choices caught our eyes, and the choices we ultimately ordered were brilliantly executed. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The setting successfully walks the high wire between comfortable and something special."

  • "extremely nice wait staff. Music was a bit loud initially but we could converse at our table without having to shout. We lingereed for over 2 hours and appreciated no one rushing us to turn the table to the next seating."

  • "very nice menu, cozy ambience, however, WAY TOO loud--bar clientele (and their noise) encroach upon diners"
    Dined on 9/14/2013
  • "This is a very average restaurant. The food was good but did not live up to the hype. The prices were quite high for what you got and the menu was limited. The service was very good but the noise did not match the atmosphere. If you want good Italian food you will not be disappointed but you will when you get the check."
