Diner Reviews
  • "Beautiful restaurant, service we received was subpar, nicest encounter was from the busing staff. Our waiter was rude, until the check came, the only smile received. The food was disappointing, my fiancés pasta was undercooked, they put the same vegetables in everything, which is strange when you get a side of vegetables that are already in your main dish...low budget is what it was. My chicken dish was supposed to be served in a wine reduction sauce...and it was noting more than skillet gravy, no flavor of wine at all. Disappointed is a low of what I thought of this place, was wishing we had just gone a gotten a burger instead."

  • "My wife and I celebrated my birthday at Venice Ristorante' in Greenwood Village on Saturday 4/12. The services was outstanding. The presentation was wonderful and the food quality was good."

  • "Our entire dinning experience was wonderful. The gentleman "Luis" that served our wine and dinner was truly a delight. Very friendly while maintaining his professionalism. It was my wife's Birthday and she was truly surprised when Luis came out with a cake that had her picture on it."

  • "We have dined here on several occasions now and each time have found the food to be wonderful. The service is friendly and well versed on the menu and wine list. The ambience is nice but beware, the noise level is energetic. Our favorite Italian restaurant!"

  • "My wife and I had reservations for 6:30 and were seated promptly. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, checked in often, and made our dinner special. He made excellent recommendations from the extensive iPad wine list and the menu. The food was hot, the portions were generous, and the overall experience was very good. We asked about the soup of the day (which we really didn't need but though sounded interesting) and our server provided us a small taste gratis. As the evening went on, the place really did fill up and was pretty loud. My wife and I had no issues with the atmosphere. It is an Italian restaurant after all! I would definitely recommend Venice and we will most certainly be back."

  • "Lovely evening with very good service and good food. Nice wine selection. Only downside was the noise level and chill from the nearby window."

  • "We had a lovely, early dinner on a Friday night. Our food & wine were wonderful, and the service was exceptional. People complain about the crowds & noise. I have a few simple suggestions that apply to ANY extremely popular restaurant: don't go on a Friday or Saturday night, or go very early if you must go on one of those nights. We often go to Venice on Sunday or Monday nights, and it is very quiet and calm then. When we choose to go on a Friday or Saturday, we beat the crowd by going early. Honestly, folks, that noisy crowd is refreshing after 6 years of nearly empty restaurants. It tells you the food is good & people love the restaurant. Enjoy it!!!!"

  • "Great dinner, great wine, and great service. The perfect place for a local neighborhood Italian restorante that can match the food anywhere in town. For us it is all about he food and this place cannot be beat."

  • "Food is excellent, but the waiter obviously wanted us to get out of there as quickly as possible so he could turn the table as many times as he could that Saturday night. The noise level is so loud I was hoarse from shouting at my date to be heard."

  • "The food and wine are great. It's just to crowded with the tables being so close together. It is also very noisy."

  • "We had a wonderful time! Work dinner with spouses. 13 people in the back room. It was perfect. Great Great service and outstanding food! Highly recommend."

  • "Can't beat the food here, my Ravioli with spicy sausage was just the perfect taste combo! My wife's Chilean Sea was incredible and worth the price splurge! Unfortunately, our server broke it for me as a five star experience. I had diligently prepared for my wine selection online ahead of dinner for a fairly expensive bottle. I recognized the bottle on the iPad wine list and quickly choose it. The bottle that came out was a 2009 vintage vs the 2006 vintage shown on the online. He gave me quite a long, drawn out dissertation, in his loud spanish accent, about how vintages change from time to time, etc, etc. I did not need my guests or the tables nearby to endure his berate! Bummer, Love this place usually."

  • "Our table was in the bar pushed up against the fireplace, had to move table just to get into my seat! They packed so many tables in, that my husbands chair got bumped by the waiters every time someone walked by! we had people standing right over us, waiting for their table. it was so ridiculously loud, you couldn't have a conversation. We thought this would be a cute neighborhood gem, but totally not!! we complained to Manager about how crowded and how waiter kept bumping into husbands chair. he offered us a glass of wine (which they were giving away free anyways for having to wait even though had reservations) but all we wanted to do was get out of there!! would NEVER go back!"

  • "Love this restaurant and the sister restaurant Chianti! They consistently deliver outstanding food. I always get the butternut squash ravioli as an appetizer to share. SO many great menu items but I am always drawn back to the Fettucini Pollo with the gorgonzola sauce... yum!"

  • "The sitting is very tight but the restaurant was full and usually is when I've been there. Food is great and parking is easy."

  • "I mentioned in my reservation this was a birthday dinner, we got a poor table location, would have preferred a window seat as to not have been in the direct area of the waiters. No mention of Birthday, too bad too because last year we had received much better seating and Happy Birthday from the staff. We are regulars at this restaurant, 4-5 times a year and the food is unbelievably great, more attention was given to the large tab tables."

  • "We dine often at Venice and I look forward to all the wonderful selections on the menu…especially the Chicken Cacciatore which is out of this world. we also tried a super Tuscan wine this time which was so wonderful."

  • "While you typically have to wait, even with reservations, they always make it up to you with their incredible service!! The food is also always so good!! I can promise you will NOT be disappointed!"

  • "Every time we come here, its always just as good as the last. Amazing food! you can tell good, high quality ingredients made from scratch. A foodie knows good food when they find it!"

  • "Best Northern Italian food in Denver. Maybe also the planet. Perfect scallopini, melt in your mouth kind. Wine list is satisfying if not deep, certainly for Italian wines. The food is so good (from salads to the killer desserts) that we have been able to overlook the decibel level that is just short of eating uder the L-train in Brooklyn."

  • "We have been going to Venice Ristorante for several years and it never disappoints! We have had large group dinners for special occasions, small groups and just the two of us. What ever the situation the food and service is always impeccable. Venice Ristorante is just a "must go to place"!"

  • "Had in-laws in town who are 100% italian. After a let down meal at another restaurant during their visit, we knew we had to go to the best. Venice did not disappoint. Christopher was quite possibly the best server we have ever had (anywhere, not just at Venice), and the food was beyond expectations. Can't praise the experience enough, and will definitely go back soon. Thanks again to Christopher and his support, it was truly a great dinner."

  • "We enjoyed a lovely dinner on a very quiet Sunday night, despite the absence of our favorite server. The veal and pasta dishes were delightful!"

  • "All in all the food was great, I do not recomend it if you are planning a romantic dinner it is very loud, the service could of been better. It was as if the waitress was more attentive to large group tables. The wait with a reservation was about 15 mintues, but we were offered wine while we waited and a second drink on the house before we left"

  • "Our party of four had a wonderful evening at Venice during Denver Restaurant Week! One of us has hearing issues, and it was very fortunate that we were seated in the small room at the back because it is always a bit loud in the main room. Our server was perfect--helpful but not ever intrusive, and did not ask the question that I loathe hearing: "How's that tasting for you?" He gets high marks and a generous tip. Each appetizer and entree was lovely, perfectly cooked and served hot, and the presentation was tasteful without being pretentious. The desserts were to-die-for delicious, and we are all planning to return again. Really one of the finer dining experiences I've had in almost 30 years of living in Colorado."

  • "Went on Monday night with party of 6. Restaurant busy but not overly so. Requested Luis as server and got him. Excellent choice of entrees et al, service wonderful and we were allowed to stay as long as we wanted without pressure to leave. We'll return again and again."

  • "Enjoyed the whole dining experience. Restaurant week really pulls in the crowd so it's noisier/busier than normal. That's OK though."

  • "It was a delight to enjoy the hospitality of Nunzio whom we had not seen for several years. His touch made for a very memorable evening with excellent food and a great wine choice. You can never go wrong at Venice Ristorante."

  • "I booked a reservation with Venice a month in advance, anticipating Restaurant Week. We arrived on time and when I approached the table, the host said "It'll be a few minutes." A few minutes??? The restaurant was NOT full and I looked around the dining hall to later find out that the table I saw was never even occupied or had to be cleaned up at the time of our arrival. I would have brushed this off to a certain degree had I not seen an elderly couple walk in within a minute of us who ALSO had RESERVATIONS. They were told the same thing. The wife of the couple paused and then said "but we have reservations?!" Not setting a good tone. PLUS she didn't give us the Restaurant Week menu; I had to ask for it. FAIL."
