Diner Reviews
  • "For being a Richard Sandoval restaurant, I found it to be very average."

  • "Hi, LOVED the margs! Delish table-side guac! But, our waiter who texted while he was at our table? what? crazy! even by Aspen's too-cool-to-care-too-much-server standards, the texting was a bit much."

  • "Great Mexican food, awesome steak fajitas and great guacamole. Margaritas good too. Quick service, nice staff mall that you want in a Mexican restaurant after a long day of skiing! Great deck too if you can grab a spot in the afternoon!"

  • "food is good. nice views of the mountain. kitchen seems a little challenged"

  • "Great place to chow down after a long day of skiing. Very satisfying! Had the guacamole and asked to make it spicy but it didn't quite hit the mark!"

  • "We have enjoyed Happy Hour at Venga in the past. We enjoy a beer and guacamole by the fire pits but decided to eat inside this time. LOUD! We could not hear one another talk! I get the whole bar scene thing but sometimes it's nice to talk to the people you are with. The Happy Hour nachos were a great disappointment; small, little cheese, few pieces of dry chicken."

  • "Best food of the entire trip. Very, very good service from Whitney, not the usual "I'm here to ski and get my 20% when you leave which will, hopefully, be soon!" attitude. Be sure to make reservations well in advance!"

  • "Not a bad meal for apres at Snowmass. Tables are a bit tightly placed. Our table was wobbly and we had to put napkins under the leg to stabilize. Food was good, but not entirely memorable. Enjoy a margarita."

  • "The atmosphere of a cafeteria, mediocre food and service and weak drinks. The bartenders were at their limits serving a beer. You would think at a Sandoval restaurant they could ateast make a decent margarita. The bartender didn't know what a Caiprihinia was, let alone how to make one. Having been to Zengo, Tamayo and others, I didn't expect such an afterthought."

  • "Hostess didn't have our reservation, I had to find my confirmation, which was annoying considering I haven't had any problems with Open Table in Snowmass or Aspen yet, I think it was the restaurants's fault. The service was a little slow at first, but improved. Food was very tasty and I would go back for the food alone."

  • "I'm a huge fan of Richard Sandoval's restaurants. I've been to several of his other restaurants and they're all fabulous, authentic mexican cuisine, this was no exception."

  • "I dine here fairly frequently. Especially during the winter months. Most of the time the service is ok considering how busy it is. This time I felt the service was incredibly slow, especially because the restaurant wasn't very busy. I will probably continue to dine here, just not as frequently."

  • "Great overall experience at Venga Venga with my husband and two teenage boys. Food was delicious, something for everyone. Service was very attentive and prompt. Place is cool looking with great view of the mountains through walls of windows. Waitress cheerfully made accommodations for my younger son who is a picky eater and brought him the wings plain with no sauce and they were still plump and delicious! Looking forward to going back on our next trip to Snowmass."

  • "Food and service was good. Very loud pumping music. More of a bar atmosphere."
    Dined on 3/3/2013
  • "Food is very mild. OK for Snowmass, but nothing special."
    Dined on 2/27/2013
  • "Guacamole prepared at the table is a must. Prompt service. Good opion if you don't want to trek to Aspen."

  • "Our secind time to Venga Venga was as good as our first. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was at our table immediately and our food came out quickly. The guacamole is made at tableside and is a must. The fish tacos, burritos, tostadas, and chile relleno are all good. The only complaint was the extremely loud music during happy hour. Half way through our dinner, happy hour ended and the music was turned down to a level more compatible with life."

  • "Easily the best food in Snowmass Village. We'll eat there more often next time out."

  • "We had a very good meal and good margaritas. Great chips and salsa on the house to start - pulled pork and carne asada as mains - with great black beans. A very satisfying meal with good service. We will certainly go again when in town."

  • "Good food, margarita's, and excellent Guacamole! The staff was friendly and efficient."

  • "We had dinner at Venga Venga after a long day of skiing. Atmosphere was good, service was great and the food was tasty. Nothing spectacular just a family friendly Mexican restaurant located slope side."

  • "Excellent high end Mexican food. Lovely presentation, masterfully prepared. Beautiful view of the mountain in its finest fall foliage (Sept. 21st). Very pleasant staff."

  • "My only critique is that some of the food portions tend to be too large for my taste, and on this occasion, there was no draft beer available because of a problem with the tap. During the summer when business can be slow, there has been a tendency to run out of items. This is understandable to me. This can also cause service to be a bit slow as they seem to have a slim crew probably due to unpredictable business levels."

  • "Some of the freshest Mexican fare I have had in some time. Service was prompt and courteous, though not out of the park. That's ok, our water glass was full and with all the appetizers that we ordered, we were plenty busy with trying different items. The margaritas are outstanding! A definite must try even if you are staying in Aspen. Better than any other Mexican restaurant in the near vicinity."

  • "Great food....great menu. My family ate there for lunch and would definitely go back."

  • "Made a reservation for 8:30, showed up at 8:15, didn't get seated until 9:05, even though there were plenty of tables available that just needed to be bussed. Got our drink order wrong and it took 4 different attempts to get it fixed. Finally, the tortilla soup was actually a cream based soup instead of what you would normally expect. That said, the food was actually extremely good. I just wish the service had been better."

  • "The place was crawling with out of control kids and huge parties. It made for a very stressful dinner. The staff was completely overwhelmed and it seemed that we were a total burden. The food is edible but not great. You don't have many choices for Mexican food in Snowmass Village so if you’re in the mood then Venga Venga is what you’ll get. Family time seems to be 5:30-7:30pm so if you are looking to avoid that scene then go later in the evening."

  • "Excellent Mexican food. Great presentation. Fresh and well prepared. None of that sloppy, cheesy, greasy stuff found at most so-called Mexican restaurants. Nice chips and salsa, delicious Margaritas! One of our favorite dining spots at Snowmass."
    Dined on 3/30/2012
  • "Best Mexican food in the area. Great tableside guac"
    Dined on 3/28/2012
  • "Sat indoors for dinner. Very sparse decor. The worst margarita I've ever had , all lime juice. One would expect a Mexican restaurant to have good margaritas."
    Dined on 3/22/2012
  • "Hit Venga Venga twice in one week while staying in Snowmass because it was that good. Surprisingly impressive food with unique flavors. Great margaritas and tortilla chips."
    Dined on 3/16/2012
  • "We were surprised how much the Cantina has improved in the past year. All items were excellent."
    Dined on 3/4/2012
  • "Best Restaurant at the Snowmass Village Mall and Best Mexican Food I've had in Colorado. Would suggest they put a house margarita on the menu because the Margarita's are way too pricey for what they were."

  • "Great tableside guacamole. Tasty fajitas. Don't miss the churros for dessert."
    Dined on 2/17/2012
  • "Very Scenic view of Slopes at Snowmass, Good food. Service depended on Server. Management was excellent, couple of the other servers were distracted and not focussed."

  • "Good margaritas but that's about it. Our server was a little out of it and after he dropped off our drinks he asked us if we needed anything else... "like more drinks?". We didn't know what to say at that point as we didn't even take a sip of the ones he just placed in front of us. The menu was the same as La Sandia in Denver which we really like but the food here at Venga Venga was absolutely awful - everything was dry and tough"

  • "Second time going to Venga Venga. Went in 2010 the day after it first opened and everything was great. This past visit was still a lot of fun, but the service has gone down a bit. We were disappointed that they had run out of certain items and were unable to make certain margaritas on their menu. Other than that it is in a perfect location and the food is worth while."

  • "Awesome Mexican food, at decent prices considering this place is right on the mountain at the Snowmass base lodge. The steak fajitas are delicious, with real steak, perfectly seasoned. My wife got the carnitas tacos, which also were terrific. Also the list of Margaritas and different Tequilas is impressive. Highly recommend, especially since they are so friendly too."

  • "We are fans of Richard Sandoval's La Sandia in Lone Tree & were very pleased to see that he had opened Venga Venga in Snowmass, right next door to our hotel. Given Richard Sandoval's reputation, we were looking forward to seeing another menu from him. Unfortunately, the Venga menu offers little difference from La Sandia. The food was good, but it was disappointing to see that they had, in large part, merely transferred over the menu and put a different name on the building. It would be more appropriate to call this restaurant "La Sandia Snowmass". We expect more imagination from a chef of Sandoval's standing and reputation. The patio is beautiful but the ambiance inside disappointing with very little decor. The service was effi"
