A stylish sophisticated urban lounge in the heart of downtown Victoria, Veneto is the ideal place to unwind with co-workers and friends. Adorned in exotic wood, leather and Italian marble, Veneto seduces patrons with its extensive cocktail menu and its savoury offerings from our chef.
Every entrée is presented tapas style and comprised of three unique dishes within the entrée. Our executive chef Tod Bosence has designed flavours that are unique yet complimentary, and that provide an engaging taste experience, ideal for sharing.

Veneto's bartenders led by Simon Ogden, display their knowledge and passion with a classically inspired cocktail list. Fresh squeezed citrus, only top shelf spirits and exacting techniques.

Veneto offers its patrons a small but significant wine selection, both by bottle and by the glass. We specialize in North American Craft beer as well as boast the largest selection of bourbons in the city.

We also had the crab/lobster dip and the ceviche, and then dessert. All was excellent. We will go back. The table beside us was eating the fat tug fondu, it looked really good I also wanted to try the duck poutine but I was too full. Great place ."

  • "We stayed at the hotel and were given vouchers. The drink I had was good (Mrs. Hudson). I love gin and tonic and this was a nice twist to it. The cheese platter was nicely presented with a good variety. The lobster mac and cheese tasted fine other than the fact that it wasn't lobster, it was shrimp. The cheese was creamy and the shrimp were plentiful so overall a tasty dish but it wasn't lobster. I can't find other reviews on this and we were told the kitchen said nothing has changed. So either they've always used shrimp or noone has noticed. It wasn't really a complaint per se but more of a pointing out the fact but having it taken off the bill was nice of the restaurant. If I lived in Victoria, I would go back for the drinks."

  • "My Husband and I had an opportunity to eat at Veneto with our Son and his Partner during our last trip to Victoria. The food, cocktails and environment were perfect for a great visit. Our Son's Partner is vegetarian, but the menu had enough options for her to choose from. Both work in the restaurant business and were impressed. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. It was very busy (Sat. evening) so reservations were a must. We will be back!"

  • "Food is hands down amazing. Kudos to the kitchen staff. Presentation is beautiful, but more importantly, the food tastes great. Highlights: scallops & pork bely, any of the sliders, & the sauce for the vegetable tempura-heaven! The ambience: place is dimly lit, candles at the tables- definitely a cool/romantic vibe. Although the drink prices are steep (most cocktails are >$10), the bartenders know how to make a good drink. In terms of service-it's a hit/miss. I was here before w/ a group and the server I had was friendly and upbeat. However, during this dining experience the server was unpleasant to interact with. It's all in the tone of voice/facial expression-to be a good server you need to know how to control your attitude."

  • "Really great service, and as expected, tasty and well-made cocktails. The appetizers were 50% off until 6pm, which is a fantastic deal.. but disappointed that this wasn't better advertised. We knew about the deal beforehand and had to double-check with our waitress (it doesn't say anywhere in the menu and wasn't brought to our attention when we sat down). If you can catch that deal, it's very worth it!"

  • "The BEST meal Ive had, maybe ever. The combination of flavours with the aged chedder and chive waffle, the corn, the lightly crusted chicken..melted in my mouth to die for delicious. My boyfriend said the same about his steak. If your looking to treat yourself with a pricey meal, Venetos is work every cent."

The four of us went on to order a little more, although we did not need anything else. Great food, great service and a nice atmosphere made our dining experience great. we will be back and try it again. We even tried special cocktails and were delighted that the experience did not drive us back to beer and wine. An all around great place to dine. Keep up the great dining experiences.   • "We really liked the tapas menu and the food was very good. Our wine was excellent however we felt the wine menu (by the glass & half-liter) was a bit limited. The restaurant is new and has a nice contemporary atmosphere that is energetic yet private. The service was prompt if not always engaging and friendly; and the staff seemed knowledgeable. My major knock against the place is that for a tapas restaurant their two-person tables are too small or their plateware is too big. Sometimes it felt like we were holding orders in our laps due to the lack of table space."

When we got there the hostess told us we had 2 hours for dinner since they needed it for another reservation, which we had one too. I have never had a lounge say this to me. Needless to say, it will take a lot to get me back to this place. The food was good, drinks were also good, but being asked "will 2 hours be enough? We have another reservation for your table?" was quite impolite. If they reserved 100% of their tables then that is just poor management."

  • "The appetizers we ordered came out so fast we wondered if they had already been pre-made and were just waiting to be reheated once orders were placed in the kitchen. In fact, our pulled pork croquettes were barely lukewarm, as was the lobster and crab dip. My husband and I go often enough to notice that standard of food has gone down since Veneto's inception. I also ordered a prosecco to start which was slightly flat and almost room temperature. My husband ordered a local Pinot Gris which was more vinegar than wine. The service, however, remains friendly and efficient. We really like the concept of the tapas plates to share and prices are reasonable for the servings, but the quality of the food has gone from very good to mediocre."

  • "We went during the $30 menu special. That might explain why the whole service felt rushed. The waitress seemed to be in a real hurry to get us out of there. We would have ordered more drinks, and we wanted to have a nice dinner and talk. I'd made reservations for 7 and it wasn't full, but in under an hour we had three courses and the bill was there. It was a special night out for us so that was very disappointing. The food was alright. The pork belly appetizer was pretty dull. The tuna main my husband had was good, and so was my chicken and waffles. The food was good for the price point and It's a nice place but I don't think I will go back mainly because of the service which was impersonal and hurried."

Great menu choices, tapas oriented, choose from a sharing menu, an entree sized menu, and a desert menu. We chose from the entree menu this evening, couldn't make up our minds picking from the sharing menu. Food was very good, well prepared, very tasty, nice sized portion. Extensive cocktail menu or they will help you create something unique, nice wine choices also. Try this restaurant, you will enjoy the experience."

  • "I've eaten here ~4 times and never had a bad meal. Cocktails are fabulous (the Italian job is a new favorite). The sauce with tempura vegetables is amazing and batter is lovely and light. The chicken and waffles is truly divine! My mother and husband loved the brussel sprouts (it was a very large bowl of them). There was 3 of us, we each had a cocktail, we split 3 dishes and had a dessert trio (yum) and it was still <$100. Can't beat that!!"

  • "I made a Christmas celebration reservation at Veneto for 7-8 colleagues FOUR WEEKS before the event; LOTS of time, to insure that we would be well positioned to have conversation, food and fun. When we arrived, we were relegated to a large booth (difficult for conversation) at the back of the room next to the kitchen. The table was also much too large for the booth. When we asked about other available tables, we were told that they were 'reserved'???? Worse yet, I sent a direct complaint to the hotel later that evening, and to date have NOT received a response. I would NEVER recommend this place for a corporate or group event as they are intended for celebration and networking; a request that Veneto does not seem to accommodate."

  • "We were a bit concerned about tapas since our daughter's boyfriend thought that it might be like a buffet in a bar but we were really happy to find that it's more like a restaurant and that you can order whatever you like and share it with the family. The food is impressive and the tapas awesome. There is also the option of ordering a full meal. A great dining experience and our waitress was outstanding, taking the time to explain the menu and giving us excellent advice. We really enjoyed our dinner."
