The food was excellent some unque dishes in particular the baked Brie and the bread pudding desert! Not to mention a wine list to suit anyone! Perfect!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMfabulous foodVaranese is one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining at. The atmosphere is casually chic, the menu varied, and the service impeccable. I had the NY strip ( may sound boring but isn't because of the way they prepare it), melt in your mouth fried dijon brussel sprouts, and creatively seasoned white beans. Dessert was a small scoop of home made grapefruit sorbet (not on the menu but available for those who want something very light). The chef/owner took time out from the kitchen to come around to every table to make sure his guests were pleased and to make suggestions and answer questions. We were just wanting a nice night out. Little did we realize
that it would be as outstanding an experience as it turned
out to be. Our table was nice and well appointed. The server
was very congenial and informative about the menu.
The walls were moved aside to let the night breezes blow
through and there was a live jazz duo playing. We were
not rushed with our ordering or meal. The food was
fabulous. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone

It is a charming location and an absolutely unique restaurant. The food was great - excellent presentation and carefully crafted. The service is wonderful and the live music is wonderful without being intrusive. So many restaurants provide music but is so loud that it is difficult to hold a conversation. Meals are getting more expensive and it should be a relaxing pleasurable experience. Thank you Varanese!!

We sat outside right by the jazz ensemble and suprisingly it was not too loud at all. Just pleasant dinner conversation. The service, food, & ambiance was absolutely wonderful! Our server Jay, (I think that was his name), was superb...very knowledgeable about the menu, wine, etc. I had put in our reservation that it was our anniversary, and everyone from the hostess, our server, and a manager made it a point to wish us a happy anniversary. Rose petals on our table was an added special touch. We will definitely be back again. Both nights there was live music which was very good. The food was delicious and well prepared. We had items off the regular menu as well as the special menu for the evening. The appetizer of baked brie is really tasty! The martinis are excellent. The service was very good - the personalities of the staff were professional and friendly. Not only did they provide us with intimate seating, the hostess wished us Happy Anniversary upon arrival. The food was delicious, and the bread pudding ranks as one of the best in town. The menu is eclectic with Mediterranean influences. The grape leaves were delicious. We enjoy going down on nice evenings and sitting outside and listening to Jeff Sherman and his group play. Wonderful food - the best staff - great atmosphere. This particular night we were setup outside close to band set as we requested in our reservation. As the evening progressed, thunderstorms were moving in. When lightening started lighting up the sky, the staff took immediate measures to move people inside and making room for the musicians to get valuable equipment inside. Heavy rain and hail very soon started BUT the show went on. Thanks to the staff & Jon. I had been there before and was not as impressed but felt it was worth a second try...I am so glad we did....and the dessert was just what I needed after 40 days of no sweets....chocolate chip baklava with salted caramel ice cream!
