For tequila enthusiasts there are 100 to choose from.

Diner Reviews
  • "We went to celebrate a friends birthday, we were a large group but it took 15 minutes for a drink order to be placed, and 20 to see chips and salsa. After speaking with the hostess the service picked up. We love coming here and hope this was just a fluke. "

  • "It had been some time since I visited Vamos because its menu was nothing new or exciting. I recently wanted to celebrate my nephews 18th birthday and, knowing that he loves Mexican food, I checked out Vamos' menu. I was delighted to find that it had changed. Our group had a wonderful time and the food was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. I live in the neighborhood and plan to dine there again. If I have one complaint, it would be that I made the reservations 2 weeks in advance and unfortunately when we arrived, our table was not ready. No apologies from Hostess, she told us we could sit there and she walked away."

  • "Nothing really stood out about the place. I would say it exceeds at being average. Nothing bad/nothing great."

  • "Went here for brunch with friend. The music level was a little higher than I would have like and our burritos were slightly burned but the food was good overall. This is not a place to go if you have food allergies or particular dietary restrictions since it seemed that little could be modified for any given dish. Otherwise, a cool place and would probably be a lot more fun in a large group with the $9 unlimited drinks."

  • "I am usually pretty pleased with the service I receive in restaurants; however, I was astounded by the horrible service at Vamos. I was there for bottomless brunch, which only lasts for 90 minutes. No one greeted my table for about 15 minutes, then once the server arrived, he didn't take our order right away. Then another 5 minutes or more later, he came to take our orders. We received one margarita and then never received another one for another 45 minutes. I had to ask the busboy, the hostess, and then the server for a refill (got into an argument over it). I could've paid $15 for one margarita anywhere in the city. This was not a deal because they only give minimal margaritas in 90 minutes. The food was average at best."

  • "Food is always run of the line Tex Mex. There were 6 of us on a Sat eve, the place was empty, they brought 5 meals and my side, and never came back. Waitress never checked. Finally asked busboy who told me someone else got my meal. Manager spent her time harangueing the staff and not once spoke to a diner, not even the guy who never got his meal. Not going back."

  • "Delicious food and frozen margaritas keep on coming!"

  • "I'll start with the good aspects: hostess was wonderful, we arrived 15 mins early but she was very welcoming and even found us a table outside, busboys were great, when our waitress was absent (most of the time) he was great about taking drink orders from us, Food was overall good, no complaints, I had steak fajitas, and we both had several margaritas. BADS - the waitress was terrible, she was very curt and rude. I asked her questions about menu recommendations and her answer was "I dunno its all good, what do you want?" Then she disappeared until she handed us our check. The other major problem - the children. I was surprised that a restaurant which seems to cater to a young professional crowd would have massive amounts of children"

  • "Vamos was exactly what I was looking for in a dining experience. Quality service, really good drinks, great drinks and while it was a tiny bit pricey for my budget ( maybe im just a naive bostonian still) it's definitely a great spot for a once a month food and drink night with friends. I'd recommend this place any day!"

  • "The service was atrocious & the servers were rude and speaking of the customers (us & others) in Spanish. Good thing I was in AP Spanish for 4 years & called the waiter out. I don't recommend it to anyone."

  • "When it gets busy there the service drops significantly. Our waitress was overwhelmed, we paid for the unlimited drink brunch and she came only once to refill. In addition she forgot one of our orders, but by that time we just wanted to go. Food is really good though."

  • "Everything was fantastic however the service was extremely slow - - I am not sure if it was just the night but they kept forgetting to bring us food / drinks."

  • "Food was delicious. Service was great. The DJ (yes a DJ) was amazing. Free shots with the bill? Yes please. Definitely will be coming back here."

  • "Had some really good guacamole. The rest was sort of standard tex mex, but you can order the lunch sized portion for dinner, which was nice if you aren't starving and want a less expensive option. Nice staff too. Would be good for a casual dinner with a large group."
    Dined on 3/22/2013
  • "meh, food and drinks are not so great. the guacamole is fresh and good."

  • "big party of 12 people. waitress was friendly and very attentive, took awhile to order but thats expected with 12 people. We stayed over the hour and a half limited and our margs were refilled WAY before they even were close to the bottom of our cups. Lots of fun!"

  • "We had a group of 10 people for dinner on a Friday night. They sat us right away and our waitress was great. Delicious margaritas, and if you check-in on Yelp you get a free shot, which of course we all did. The food was great and the vibe of the place was really fun, and as the night went on the music and scene was a good time. Definitely recommend it!"

  • "Unlimited brunch margaritas with any entree for $7 keeps us going back."
    Dined on 1/13/2013
  • "Food was good--margarita's were event better. The brunch deal with the $7 all you can drink margarita's for 90 minutes is a good deal. Portion size was average. Ambiance is a bit rustic (i.e., long tables--very cafeteria style)."

  • "Still my favorite local taco/tequila place. Chips and fresh guacamole are great although the portion is small. I recently brought a friend here on a Friday night. It looks as if Vamos is starting new nightly promotions - tacos and salsa dancing/ladies' night/late night happy hour. I usually love the salsa music that plays during dining, but this time they switched over to a DJ playing current hits. I didn't mind it as the mix was good and the place was still packed with people. The food isn't the absolute best in the city, but it's still great and the ambiance is amazing. This place is a lot of fun. I suggest the Vamos Salad with shrimp."

  • "I had the steak, margarita, and guac - all were delicious!"

  • "This was my second visit to Vamos and I enjoyed it just like the first time. I was my boyfriend who had the bacon and cheddar omelet which he loved and I ordered the chicken sandwich. Frozen margaritas aren't my favorite but for $7 unlimited, how could you pass it up. I would def go back to try something different."

  • "The experienced was Great. They still accomodate 2 people that come very late cuz of traffic. Will be back again."
    Dined on 11/25/2012
  • "The waitress wasn't great but I'd been there before and was returning for the food, not the service. Not all the staff was bad though - the bartendar was great!"
    Dined on 10/27/2012
  • "I can't remember the last time the service in a restaurant was so bad. Both the hostess and waitress acted as if they could not care less even though they weren't very busy. The waitress would disappear for long periods of time and then walk right by us as if we didn't exist. Avoid this place!"
    Dined on 9/30/2012
  • "We had a great dinner here, but were a little put off by the fact that they sat us at a table literally in the middle of the room right between the kitchen and the bar. People were constantly walking by and it seemed like we were in the way. Also notable that they only have pitchers of frozen margaritas. Would highly recommend the cilantro margarita!"

  • "Love this Gramercy/East 20's mexican tequila gem. Very neighborhood feel, but cool vibe. The food is yum yum yum. Prices have gone up recently."
    Dined on 6/15/2012
  • "By NYC standards the Mexican food is a 4, by California standards the food is a 1, not enough fresh ingredients. Servers are very nice, drinks are good, great view of Stuy Town. What is up with East Coast people and mayonnaise on everything??"

  • "Horrible service and we went there because of specials they had advertised on their web site only to find out that they weren't honoring them as they said they were old. I was expecting them to give us the special after us telling them that was the reason we chose this restaurant and they did not. Then we continued to have horrible service through the whole meal. It took over 30 minutes to get our bill."

  • "Always a great meal and great drinks. Can't go wrong!"
    Dined on 5/13/2012
  • "Guacamole was great - tacos marginal. Service was awful and since we were only one of maybe three tables, a bit unforgivable."
    Dined on 5/7/2012
  • "vamos a no-go Restaurant is in our neighborhood so it is convenient but certainly nothing to go out of your way for. The food was a little tired-tasting as in the stewed pork with pineapple which tasted like a three-day leftover and needed a few squirts of lime juice to give it some life. Also lacking in quality (cottony-pink tomatoes in the guacamole, grisly skirt steak)Seems like someone doesnt care anymore in the kitchen. Drinks were zippy. Service was pleasant and prompt. Place is dark and noisy and not particularly festive."
    Dined on 3/31/2012
  • "There were 14 of us and service was slow, but not unexpectedly so for a large group. We were early, so very few people there. Food was okay, drinks were good. Better than Taco Bell."
    Dined on 3/27/2012
  • "The noise level makes conversation challenging, but the food and service made up for it. Will go there again."
    Dined on 3/9/2012
  • "The food was fantastic. The waiter was very friendly and very helpful. We had a minor incident with a glass falling, the wait staff noticed it immediately and it was cleaned within two minutes. This place was great."

  • "I had my 27th birthday party and it was completely flawless--I had made reservations for 15 and they accommodated us so easily. 17 people showed and they had no problem with it. The staff was superb--sooooooo nice! The food (I had tacos) was delish (and I'm a real Mexican)--and the margaritas--oh my! :) I couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate!!!!!!"

  • "The food was great and our waiter was great. However, the restaurant made an error and didn't write down the open table reservation in their book. We had 6/12 people there but they made us wait for an hour till the whole party arrived. This clause should be mentioned in the confirmation e-mail"

  • "The vegetarian tacos were basically vegetables thrown into a taco, no real flavor or cheese. The fish tacos were not outstanding, but the were good. The rice and beans and corn that come with the meal had great flavor. I didn't drink, but heard good things about the white sangria."
