Vallozzi's PittsburghGreat experienceHello,
This was my first experience at Vallozzi's Pittsburgh and all went very well. I was able to make a reservation very easily and it was honored in a timely manner. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was extremely helpful with our menu choice. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.
Thanks for a great lunch!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food without the driveI was a regular at Vallozzi's in Greensburg. Since moving I haven't been able to make the trip to Greensburg more than once in a while. Now the great food and dining experience is available much closer in downtown Pittsburgh. As usual the wine list is superb, the entrees delicious and generous in size and the desserts exquisite. Please make sure to leave room for the bread pudding.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique Food Choices-even for lunch!Great selections, wonderful service!! Roasted Beet Salad, Artichoke Cobb, Risotto (delicious!!!).......some nice choices for those of us who are vegetarian. Can't wait to come back for dinner & use the coupon I was given at lunch.....5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxed qualityIf you are looking for a relaxed high class meal with attentive (but nut push) staff this is a great option! Every part of the meal was delightful and delicious. Close to Heinz Hall, it is super for a pre or post concert meal. Atmosphere is classy and friendly, tables are not right on top of each other. You'll be glad you tried Vallozzi's, and my guess is you will return!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBravo! The food was terrific! I loved the idea of picking from the Square. There are 4 items in 4 boxes and you pick one from each box for your lunch entree. It was a perfect amount of food and there were great choices! I also tasted the Lobster Risotto which was delicious!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a business lunchConvenient downtown location, efficient, and relatively quite.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistantly OutstandingThis is our 'go-to' for before theater dining. We get a delicious meal, good service and a great glass of wine...all at a good price. It's convenient to the Cultural District in the downtown area of Pittsburgh. As far as noise level...at peak dinner hours, between 6p and 8p, you are part of a vibrant group of people talking, laughing, and enjoying their evening with family and friends. Personally, that's a plus for me.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful dinnerWe had a wonderful dinner at Vallozzi's. The ambience is warm and inviting and we didn't feel as though we were crowded. The whole fish of the day (red mullet) prepared Mediterranean style was perfectly prepared and delicious. We also enjoyed the tomato caprese salad with outstanding buffalo mozzarella. We were most impressed with the extensive wine list, particularly by the bottle. Orin Swift wines are among our favorites and are difficult to find in most Pittsburgh restaurants. Our server was excellent and engaging with just the right amount of personal attention -- he knew both food and wine and it was a pleasure to discuss both with him. It was the first time we have dined at Vallozzi's and we definitely plan to return4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe noise level on this visitThe noise level on this visit was actually loud enough as to make conversing at a table for 5 difficult.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome place but so loudAwesome place but so loud because it was so packed...don't let it stop you from going to eat there though!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance is upscale butThe ambiance is upscale but the prices are still reasonable. Food and service is excellent. A nice addition to downtown.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly surprisedCautioned by the poor reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by Vallozzi's. We all had pasta entrees and everyone was very happy with the preparation. However, as the evening went on we developed veal-envy from watching entrees for other tables go by. Service was excellent, as our busy waiter was always there whenever we needed something. The dining room was very attractive, with tables well-spaced, but the restaurant was full on a Saturday night, so the room was pretty loud. The wine list is typical of a top-shelf Italian restaurant, but diverse enough to offer a few bottles suitable for those of us who get sticker shock from the better Italian reds. Prices are high, but warranted. We will return for the veal.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood selection and qualityFood selection and quality was excellent.
All staff were prompt and friendly.

But the food was good and I would recommend it to others.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe sat in the bar area andWe sat in the bar area and had wonderful service, food, and fun! Expensive neighborhood!
An easy walk to Heinz Hall.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful experienceWe had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We arrived early and decided to have a drink at the bar first. The crowd in the bar was lively and the bartenders were knowledgeable and fun. The dining area is separate from the bar, so the ambiance was quieter and more intimate. Our server, Brianna had some great menu suggesstions and provided excellent service. The food was unique in flavor and presentation and not the typical italian fare. This place is definaelty worth a visit.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the best time! Great food,Had the best time! Great food, good variety, and wonderful service...a triple play.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only thing that couldThe only thing that could have made it better was if they read my instructions that it was a birthday celebration. Nothing was mentioned to me or my guest. Maybe they don't do that sort of thing like other neighborhood restaurants. That's okay because the meal and service made me forget the oversight.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMVallozzi's good for company dinnersWe had our company dinner at Vallozzi's.
