Valentino - LATook Wife For Birthday & Was GreatOld school Italian restaurant - has been there for 40 years. Service was friendly and inviting. Host greeted me like I was a regular and I had never been there before. Took us to a very private table in like it's own alcove - pretty cool. Wait staff was top notch. Just really genuine. Our waiter said he is the newest waiter there and he has been there 15 years. Wine list was massive - huge book. We are vegetarian and prefer healthy food. They had a great whole wheat pasta and they cooked it perfectly. We had the Tiramisu and it was superb. Food was excellent. It is expensive - just is what it is - all in with tip was about $190 or so - your not eating there every night - so worth it. I would highly recommend Valentino.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in LA if not USAI love coming to Valentino's. The enjoyment and charm start upon first entering, when you are greeted warmly and shown to your table. The waiters are exceptionally friendly and warm, the wine outstanding, the food equally so. You cannot do better. Outstanding service, ambience, wine, and food, what more could one desire?5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the first time IThis was the first time I had been to Valentino's in many years. The food and the service remain excellent. But, the decor is in serious need of a makeover. I felt like I was in a restaurant that my grandmother would pick. The place also was as quiet as a library. Update please5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI LIKE THIS OLD CHARM !IT'S A THROW BACK TO THE 1970'S --- WHAT'S BAD ABOUT THAT ?
DARK, AND A MAITRE'D --- WOW BAAAAABY --- WHERE'S SINATRA?

The pasta was superb and the veal scaloppine was delicious. Service is what service should be. A must if you like Italian food. Worth the drive from anywhere in LA.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AM40 StrongValentino is still thriving after most LA restaurants of this age have passed away. The menu has simplified over the years and is a trifle less traditional. Good job with crudo. The phone book-like wine list alone is reason to go--and the staff always has excellent suggestions at all price points. A winner!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent and worth the priceMy dining partner and I enjoyed our evening at Valentino. The service was excellent. We both ordered from the special menu: Lamb Osso Buco and an Italian version of paella. Both were fantastic.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery outstanding food, theVery outstanding food, the best Italian restaurant in town. Great food and service, unbelievable wine list. The sommelier made excellent recommendations so we ended up with a superb wine which made the overall experience even better for food lovers like us. We will definitely come back to this restaurant when we next travel to LA.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Event to RememberNot sure where to begin. Piero Salvaggio met us at the door, escorted us to our table and poured our wine. This was to be no ordinary meal.
The creativity, unparalleled. The preparation, first-rate. The quality of the food and wine, five star. The service, unmatched. The desserts, unbelievable. The ambiance, old-school.
The overall experience was so much more than a meal. It was a beautifully orchestrated event that we will all long remember. At least once everyone should themselves to this echelon of dining.
To say I cannot wait to return is the understatement of the century!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing birthday dinnerAside from an ice cream cake that melted into soup after dinner ( my boyfriend stopped at carvel to surprise me, he asked valentino to freeze the cake to take home, they ended up serving us the cake and not freezing it, oh well), the food was amazing. Best Italian food ever! Service was very nice.
We will come back minus the birthday cake.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AM40 years proves the quality40 years proves the quality of this jam and for me 40 years the best restaurant. I was never disappointed with the food, with the service and always welcomed with Pierro's smile, regardless I am not a VIP. Will always come back3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter more than 40 years,After more than 40 years, this is still the best meal in Los Angeles! We had the "whole fish", Branzino, that was outstanding. The wine list is intimidating but don't hesitate to ask for a recommendation, especially is the owner, Piero, is on site.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for Four-Course SpringWent for Four-Course Spring Menu.
