I took my clients to dinner , the
service was brash and I was appalled at the limited but very pricey wine list . The decor was fine , but once the room filed up, it was difficult to continue our conversation as we could bit hear each other. The food was very good but I'm sure I can find as good accompanied by a better overall dining experience ."

I can't begin to tell you how
delicous everything was, from the minute we got to the restaurant we were treated as royality. The food was outstanding, the wine selection had many to choose from at various prices, we wern't rushed to leave, the staff gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy our wine & coffee. I would definatly reurn very soon."

From the manager to the waiters,
all of they staff gave exemplary service. The food quality was excellent. The decor was beautiful and contemporary. I will definitely offer it to my wife for our weekly date nights! Well done, Val Bella."

This was my debut in the midtown
location. I didn't love the look of the place but much more importantly, I adored the food. I had a pasta starter loaded with shellfish. It felt like a full main course portion and it was delicious. I had salmon as my entree and the sauce it was supposed to be served with did not interest me and I therefore requested a mustard sauce which was accommodated. it too was very delicious. My guest thoroughly enjoyed his food as well. I will be returning for sure."

Excellent! I have been the
downtown location many times and it never disappoints. This location was no exception. The food and service were fantastic. If you want a sure thing, visit Valbella"

Great restaurant in Midtown.. The
service is outstanding and food could not have been better. Don't miss a meal at any of the Valbellas...Good place for a special occasion."
Dined on 12/9/2013
A very nice room with outstanding
service and food. A wonderful dining experience"
Dined on 12/16/2013
Everything is first class in
Connecticut...it's not duplicated here. 1 hour wait for a table that was open. The food...bland. The service...not real attentive. But hey, if neon purple is your thing...you'll like the atmosphere. This unit has none of the charm of the original. Save your time and your money..."

Took some friends visiting from
out of town and loved the restaurant. The Napolean was to die for - best I've ever had."
Dined on 12/13/2013
Have been to Valbella before and
will definitely be going there again."
Dined on 12/13/2013
A reasonably good meal, but the
room was cold and austere."
Dined on 12/7/2013
this was our fourth time at this
restaurant. It has been consistently good. The location is great for midtown."
Dined on 12/6/2013
Valbella has wonderful. The salmon
entrée is the best salmon I have ever had. Not quite in the league of Marea or Del Posto, except pricewise."
Dined on 12/2/2013
We had a delightful meal. The
staff were polite, the meal was well paced and the food was delicious. We started with salads, a ceasar and a green one - both very good. We had a veal dish and a chicken one which we enjoyed very much. For dessert, we shared a napolean that was immense. The restaurant was on the quiet side but we were told that it can be quite lively other times."
Dined on 11/29/2013
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The food was excellent. The wait staff was fantastic. Would definitely go again"
Dined on 11/30/2013
The food was excellent as always.
Service however was disappointingly sluggish on this occasion."
Dined on 11/30/2013
The food was excellent and we were
treated as if we were customers who have been there every weekend, and it was our first time there, but we will definitely be back."
Dined on 11/23/2013
Our experience at Valbella was
exceptional. We had the BEST waiter and the food was fresh, well prepared and authentic. We will make Varbella a dining favorite when visiting New York."
Dined on 11/16/2013
The food and service were well
received by all in our party."

Having lived in CT for 16 years,
Valbella was a regular spot for a high end dining experience. My guest and I found the food at Valbella Midtown to be exceptional - both the pastas as well as the veal capricosa (sp?) and the filet mignon. We were too stuffed to try any of the amazing- sounding desserts. If I had to say something negative, it would be that the decor felt cold and the purple lighting was more strange than cool. But purple lights won't keep me away from this great food."

Fantastic homemade pasta!
Perfectly prepared fish! Gracious, attentive service. Wonderful experience!"
Dined on 11/3/2013
a consistently wonderful
experience and great for entertaining clients"

Very festive and friendly
atmosphere, outstanding service, and delicious food! I am not waiting for my next birthday to return!!!"
Dined on 10/27/2013
Wine list is extensive and
expensive. Malbec, which offers a nice blend of quality and price is no longer available. I was forced to choose a wine within the corporate budget and was saddly disappointed. Please restore the Malbec selections you once had."
Dined on 10/22/2013
Valbella was a pleasant surprise,
given that the restaurant was nearly empty when we walked in. The food was plentiful and well prepared. It's hard to find from the street; the signage is against a wall on the alleyway that leads to the restaurant. That may inhibit walk-in patronage."
Dined on 10/5/2013
..are usually annoying but not at
Valbella. These guys were always attentive but never pushy nor obsequious. Perfect social skills. They really came through when we had a wine spill, took my jacket out back to sponge off, reset the table with no fuss."
Dined on 10/3/2013
Pretty quiet for Friday night.
Server is a little ackward. I was too full to finish my meal, server gave me a guilt trip for not finishing my food."
Dined on 9/28/2013
Wonderful upscale Italian food and
great service. Even the olive oil was great."
Dined on 9/28/2013
The new midtown location is at
least the equal of the Meatpacking and Connecticut locations. Outstanding and well-presented food from a wide and varied menu, impeccably served. Expensive, but unpretentious and a very satisfying experience."
Dined on 9/13/2013
We split a dessert that was $140!
Our table of 5 split a dessert (not memorable as I don't recall what it was) and when the bill came it was $140 out of the $500 tab. My job requires me to entertain a lot in midtown and this was the first time in 15 years I'd had such a negative experience with clients at a restaurant. There are too many good restaurants in the area to go back to ones that leave a bad taste in your mouth. Buyer beware!"
Dined on 7/11/2013
Enjoyable restaurant. Service was
excellent. Food was outstanding. I had the beet salad and a seafood risotto; both were excellent and of Foodie caliber."
Dined on 9/11/2013
Attentive service and pleasantly
quiet ambience (in large part because there weren't that many people there) on a Friday at lunchtime. The restaurant looks pretty much unchanged from when it was Alto. Very good food -- I had the risotto special and the peppercorn filet mignon, and was of course too full for dessert -- in a relaxing setting. I'll be back."
Dined on 9/6/2013
Everything was delicious from the
wine to the amazing desserts!"
Dined on 9/6/2013
Had an early dinner on a Friday
evening in August so the restaurant was slow but as soon as we arrived, all of the staff rushed to help us, were excellent and professional. We had a beautiful weather evening and the outside dining was outstanding and their seating is non curb side so it was quiet and enjoyable. Waiter was very attentive, made good suggestions and made sure we were taken care of every minute we were at our table. A very enjoyable evening, meal and expeirence"

Fantastic....food, service and
ambiance .....highly recommend ...a must go to restaurant ....and its sister restaurant in meatpacking district."
Dined on 8/15/2013
Have been to Greenwich and
Meatpacking sites many times and love them all. Midtown did not dissapoint. Food ,service, everything is great."
Dined on 8/8/2013
I'll be honest, it has been quite
some time since I spent $146, without tip, on lunch. That being said, I am not a stranger to crazy expensive food. The food was nicely prepared, but not completely over the top. I have certaily had better food, in nicer places, for less. During the meal, the service was fine, a bit distant........but our lunch lasted two hours because the waiter was not attentive and I had to hunt him down inside (we ate outside) to pay the check which, even at a diner I find inexcusable. I was completely embarrassed and furious that I had to leave my guest. I will not be returning any time soon."
Dined on 7/30/2013
This is a great
restaurant..Wonderful food and service. And the Napoleon is the best I have ever had, with enough for several people!"
