  • "Although the restaurant has been around for some time, it was a new find for me and WOW, what a find! GREAT food and service, good wines and a full bar. Great music as well, but the food was truly fantastic and the prices reasonable (especially in Napa)! Great for groups. Sometimes a bit loud for a 'romantic' dinner for two. Definitely would recommend!"

  • "Service was friendly and attentive. A band played beautiful flamenco-inspired jazz just two tables away from us, but the sound level was such that we were still able to converse with each other at reasonable levels. The food was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. We started with the scrumptious arancini (crisp Italian balls of deep-fried rice with herbs and cheese) and had a wonderful dish of penne and woodland mushrooms in a tomato sauce (we had it without sausage because we're vegetarian) and enjoyed one of the best plates of gnocchi we've ever had anywhere. The potato dumplings were light as air and melted on the tongue, and the light cream sauce had the perfect amount of gorgonzola. Wow. What a memorable meal!"

  • "This is basic italian food and decent pizza. Given its location in Napa it of course has a good wine list. It is not a place that is real memorable but after traveling all day iy has a good menu of comfort food"

  • "We enjoyed the grilled peach salad, and the sauvignon blanc was outstanding. The penne with house made sausage was also delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and professional (I can't recall her name, sorry). A very pleasant dinner with my two sisters!"

  • "Skip it, I gave you the essence above. The wait staff harassed us to get us out of the restaurant."

  • "I've been a few times on Friday and Saturday night and have had a great experience each time. I keep coming back for the great food, romantic ambiance, and fun music."

  • "The food is good. I enjoy the music. I love great service, but both times I have come I got the same waiter and both times we ordered an appetizer and never got it."
    Dined on 8/15/2014
  • "What can I say, the food was poorly prepared and poorly served. I livein Napa ..just moved there and I will never, ever return."

  • "Our dining experience was not good. The staff is good and attentive but they are hustling so much they never ask how was your dinner. Table is cleared then the bill is delivered. The food on the other hand, not good. I had cream of spinach soup that was lukewarm and tasted just like a bowl of cream. I did not detect any spinach taste. I ordered the pasta with house made sausage, mushrooms and red sauce. My husband thought the pasta was tossed with olive oil. The sausage was crumbled specks and I think I found a partial mushroom. The pasta was tough. My husband had the ciopinno. It tasted tough like the shellfish had been sitting in the dish for some time. I am not one to complain but I am tired of paying $$ for unsatisfactory food"

  • "Vibrant atmosphere. All ages were seen on a Saturday evening at 6:30. Activity was only getting busier. Jazz band was setting up for what was bound to be good addition. However, do ask for a table away from entertainment if you want to talk! They are celebrating 14 years of service. As a result, corkage was waved on first bottle of wine. DO make a reservation."

  • "We went to Uva's on August 2nd, 2014 at 7:30 for our anniversary. We did have reservations and only about a 5 minute wait before we were seated. Our waitor was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the ribs and Pene pasta with sausage. Bother were excellant and we topped it off with bred pudding for desert. The entertainment was excellant and we danced for a bit. Overall and excellant evening of fun and great food!"

  • "Food was average. Service was pretty good. Ambiance was the best. Live jazz was amazing. Bolognese is what saved the entire meal."

  • "I remember Uva as being a very quaint, and above average restaurant. This new incarnation is part sports bar/part dance club for the 50+ set. Our "organic and sustainable" appetizers were wilted, stale, and in the case of the very poorly done melon wrapped prosciutto, downright un-edible. The bad "meat" was merely haphazardly twisted around far too large pieces of old melon. Menu also stated in bold letters - NO SUBSTITUTIONS. Given that one of us has dietary restrictions, we asked our waitperson to inquire about a simple switch on a side dish. Our response what that it would cost us an additional $10. The cost of the "substitution" was not an issue...the fact that the food was so VERY sub par was. The only bright spot was our wait staff."

  • "The food was better than average. Special requests were welcomed but with a big price. However the service was absolutely outstanding. Overall great experience and would love to go back!"

  • "Everybody got into the mood as the three man band played some wonderful 60-80s music. The food was great as usual. Our favourite place in Napa. We must dine there every summer."

  • "It was noisy , cold, bad service, and the pasta was terrible. Won't go back."

  • "Bruchetta was very good. Unfortunately, the entrees were not. My wife had the linguini with sausage, peppers, etc. and requested that they hold the mushrooms. They held everything but the sausage. I had the veal picatta which was very poor."

  • "Our dining experience was excellent as it always is at this great restaurant. Service, food, music all was great."

  • "We had gone in on the 15th for their $10 burger & pint special at the bar, excellent! We had friends in town on the 18th so we decided to hit this popular neighborhood Trattoria again. Service is polite and attentive, we had the Vongole, Veal, Risotto and a pizza and all were spot on. Music was a bit loud but created a energetic ambiance like no other. Everyone was smiling and having a great time... We will be back!"

  • "I liked the restaurant despite the food. Staff was very friendly. I ordered a thin crust pizza and the crust was very soggy. The linguini dish was fine."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "The food was great. Nice wine list. But the service here is in no hurry. We had to ask twice for water and bread and it probably took 20 minutes for them to come. Our group had a variety of pizzas, pastas, and steak and everyone was happy with their meals. Food tasted fresh. There was a jazz band playing and definitely kept a fun upbeat vibe."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "The service was very good and the food delicious, but very pricey, especially the pasta dishes. The place gets very noisy and crowded from 7 pm on, especially on Fridays. The place isn't very elegant with walls cluttered with images of stars, but we had an enjoyable night."

  • "I took my family to give this local restaurant a try. Read about a special they were doing on Sunday night and we all wanted to try it. I called, made a reservation and asked if they were going to have the special and was again told yes. When we were all seated we asked about the special and they seemed confused. When the manager came back he told us it was "only available if you sat at the bar". I told him that was not what we were told and we had all come in wanting the special. He said he understood, but the owner told him there "were no exceptions" and he was sorry. Wow, the restaurant was nearly empty and you are going to let us leave disappointed! We then had just a very mediocre dinner...shame on them...we will not be back, ever!"

  • "It was louder than expected, but the service was attentive (although it was really busy), the food fresh and tasty, and the live music starting at 8:30pm was a pleasant surprise!"

  • "My wife and I were in Napa celebrating our 35th anniversary. It was our last night in town and we felt like Italian but didn't want to strive far from our hotel. Uva Trattoria is located downtown on a quiet side street with a few outdoor tables and a nice inside dinning room and separate bar area. Server was friendly and knowledgeable of their food and wine list. At our request, she ask the chef to make us up a salad that was not on the menu. It appeared as if it were a specialty item plated just for us. My wife and I both had pasta dishes that were amazing. We opted to take desert and our wine back to our suite, which finished our Napa experience with perfection. Thanks Uva Trattoria."

  • "I came here with girlfriends for a night out- everything we ate was delicious and easy to share so we could try more! The band that played was incredible and while it was a smidgen loud to hear everything my friends were saying it was well worth it and created an awesome ambiance and experience. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in Napa!"

  • "We've been to this Restaurant twice. On each occasion both the food and service was excellent. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were able to enjoy relaxed meals and never felt rushed. After dinner we were able to enjoy the live music in the bar area. Highly reccomended."

  • "Uva is a true find - great environment blending good jazz, bar, food. A local's bar/restaurant. Easy parking in downtown Napa. Manager and staff went out of their way to please my wife and me. I cut my veal picatta with my fork."

  • "We came here for our daughter's graduation from UC Davis. We arrived early and spent some much needed time in the bar area exploring the cocktail menu. The bartender, (Sorry, name forgotten), was great and recommended many fabulous choices. However, after several experiments, we unanimously decided that the "Quebrada" was the absolute best. We then delved into a classic 7 course Italian family style meal over the next 3+ hours with Ellie. Antipasti, pizza, zuppa, insalata, pasta, carne, and dolce. Coupled with 3 bottles of the '09 Beaucanon Cabernet Sauvignon. And then the coup de grace, dancing!!! Whatever dolts posted that the music was too loud, should stay at home and watch re-runs of the "Little house on the prairie.""

  • "Uva served our party really well, even though a few could speak no English. Food and service, as always, was extraordinary! A mess-up, however! My Chinese student made reservations, but did not know his parents were coming from China. I called in to add two, and explained how important it was that no one reveal to my student that I was adding two more. But, when Hualin called, the receptionist spilled the beans. He came to me asking if his parents were coming. I had kept this secret for months, but then someone let the "cat out of the bag". When I called back, the receptionist was apologetic, saying no one had made any note about this or she would have been more careful. Dinner was WONDERFUL, but I was a bit upset by this mess-up."

  • "Our dinner was very good! Service was attentive & knowledgeable. Menu had several selections, was hard to choose. Full bar. 2 person band playing was a bit loud but they were very good. Bar was full. The staff brought out a dessert with a candle for my friends birthday, very personal touch. Will return!"

  • "The food was good. Tomato Soup and Salad were excellent, so was the saffron fettuccine with sea food . The calamari appetizer was ok, little bland. My daughter loved the flour less chocolate cake with gelato. The service at the table was excellent. The place was loud and the tables are arranged little too close to each other. That was the only negative for us."

  • "We had riceballs primi, then blue-cheese gnocchi. Riceballs sit in bed of marinara, full of flavor, not heavy, well sized proportion for primi. Gnocchi are so light, with a texture that serves as a perfect balance for the silky white cheese sauce. Great find! This is really good basic Italian, not your uber-wine country thing with incumbent trappings - we save that for tasting or get away weekends. We just wanted good food downtown and were pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommended, and we will return."
