Uva is owned and operated by Napa native Aaron Diaz who spent 19 plus years under the tutelage of legendary restaurateur Donna and Giovanni Scala. "The spinach salad was the highlight of our dinner. The Ceasers salad was underdressed and underwhelming. Additionally, they charged extra for anchovies for the Ceasers. The pastas were lacking the richness and flavor I've experienced here before."

"We have been to Uva twice since Christmas. Over the holidays we wrote it off to being busy and overwhelmed. Our visit last Friday was poor on many accounts. First the service: We were seated 20 minutes late; our server was inconsistent; we had to ask twice for more bread; the bus staff would take plates away immediately, sometimes attempting to take it before some in the party were done. Second, the food: Our caesar salad dressing was runny (seemed like the lettuce was not dry enough) and loaded with too many anchovies; the spinach salad was good; the arancini was decent but could have used more sauce; the scallops were cold; the pizza was OK but undercooked; the Agnolotti was OK but nothing special. Lastly, the wine was room temp."

"Seafood pasta was forgettable; the shellfish quality was hit or miss, pasta were overcooked/soft and a bit salty. The sauce had a good flavor, but it was a bit too thick and hard to distribute evenly over all of the pasta."

"There was live music and the place felt happy & energetic. We really loved the atmosphere. We went on a Friday night and had an 8:30 reservation, but did not get seated until 9:00 - the only downside. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The arancini was amazing, and we as well as the agnulotti stuffed with short ribs. The mixed green salad lettuce salad was fresh but under-dressed. We wondered if they forgot the vinaigrette. Service was friendly and wines were affordable."
