Really nice. Feels a little like
some lower east side places I have been too. Very relaxing at the little round tables in bar area especially. Very fun. I think has a special feel."

We had 8:30 reservations. We
arrived at 8:28. We were told to give them 5 minutes. We sat and waited. We were not seated until 9:15. No one came and told us anything. We were a party of 3. I'm not quite sure what the reservation was really for if we had to wait so long anyway."

Happened to stumble upon this
place for a late night (11pm) bite a month ago, and am I so glad I did! The food is delicious, the decor is lovely (rustic, romantic feel) , and the service is on point. I went back a few nights ago with friends and the place was very lively for a Sunday dinner crowd. Place is deceiving from outside as you would think it's just an ordinary UES restaurant but you will be pleasantly surprised when you walk in. Would definitely go back."

The food and service were very
good; the entire party enjoyed the experience. Would recommend to others, and will be attending again soon."

Chose Uva to celebrate my
girlfriend's birthday, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the food nor the experience. The menu is a nice mix of "red sauce" Italian, rustic Northern Italian, and Tuscan coastal cuisines. The decor was understated, inviting, and pleasant. The back patio offered a nice, well-contained semi-outdoor setting. Prices are reasonable, and the food was delicious. Will come back here!"

We took my mom to Uva for a 70th
birthday celebration. We were seated immediately when we walked in with our Open Table reservation. Our server was very attentive and had some great suggestions when asked. We ordered the salmon, scallops and shrimp dishes which were all very tasty! The baby artichoke salad was amazing! There is not one thing that we did not love about this dinner. Although the tables are very close together, we did not feel cramped and enjoyed the energy of the place. Would go back in a heart beat!"

Uva is one of the cutest little
restaurants that I frequent. It's covered in wood from the bar to the tables to the floors. The lighting is perfect--on the dimmer side but still bright enough to feel happy. The servers are lovely and friendly and the food never disappoints."
Dined on 3/8/2014
Very crowded, too many tables for
the space and difficult to get around Food good and service okay, nice evening but not spectacular"
Dined on 11/7/2013
Great food, great crowd very
attentive wait staff even though this place was really packed on Friday night"
Dined on 2/28/2014
Good food, wine and fun for groups
and for sharing."
Dined on 2/25/2014
Everything is excellent, from the
service to the menu options, Uva is a great dining experience."
Dined on 2/20/2014
A classic in the neighborhood. The
food is solidly good. Service was horrendous though. Waiter forgot to take our order, had to call him over. Waiter also forgot we ordered drinks. Just seemed like the restaurant was understaffed. I'd still come back for food because it's Uva but man the service was rough. Was a struggle to just find our waiter to ask him anything."
Dined on 2/20/2014
The food was excellent and great
for sharing while the service was attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely return to try other items."

I have been to UVA several times,
it is always great. The food is wonderful! I always have a good time there. It is definitely my favorite place in UES! The only little thing I would change is the noise level, it is a bit hard to hear a conversation sometimes."
Dined on 2/12/2014
Ate early with the kids on Friday
evening. By the time we left the place was packed with a vibrant energy. Food is great service and staff terrific. Actually booking a party for the basement space. We'll impressed."
Dined on 2/7/2014
Terrific upper east side fun and
cool place for dinner! Pretty setting and great food."
Dined on 2/3/2014
Been to Uva a few times now both
for brunch and dinner and I've had a great experience every time! The quality of the food is good especially for the price and the portions are a good size. Would definitely recommend Uva to anyone that happens to be in the neighborhood."

Excellent food at good prices. But
VERY Crowded, noisy and cramped."
Dined on 1/25/2014
Great selection of tasty small
plates and a enjoyable selection of reasonable Italian wines. Always an enjoyable evening."
Dined on 1/23/2014
Had a good brunch here. Meal was
well priced and was made well. It's your typical brunch food but they also have interesting lunch options and all have an Italian undertone to the dishes. Cute outdoor space as well as indoor. Great place to go if you're in the area!"
Dined on 1/19/2014
Amazing menu and wine list. A
little noisy but otherwise a great experience."
Dined on 1/19/2014
Went with my boyfriend for a nice
dinner on Saturday. Friendly service, delicious wine, good food. Smallish plates but that's standard for NYC restaurants. Weren't rushed to finish or hurried out the door. Beautiful back room with a very romantic vibe."
Dined on 1/18/2014
hello, this restaurant was quite
good with family cuisine, not outstanding but good. we highly appreciated the plate for 2 with ham and olives and then the wine was wonderful, a red one ; Montepulciano."
Dined on 1/17/2014
After reviewing many positive
reviews, I had decided to try restaurant because it had duck breast on the menu. I was cautious at their affordable prices, and 'italian' dining. I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed each course I had ordered. The portions were small, so if you order a few courses, you will be set! The dishes were not anything new or exciting, but classic styles were done very well. I would recommend anyone to give this restaurant a try if they would like affordable dinner and not expect to be wowed."

So...us downtown folk can be hard
to please uptown. I was with two jovial work colleagues and had a terrific experience here. Heather, our waitress, was fantastic and funny (besides knowledgeable)...the owner/manager stopped by several times and took one of our drink orders. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food very high. Get the antipasta plate and the pinot noir. I'll definitely schlep uptown anytime for dinner at Uva."

Came here for a later dinner and
had a wonderful experience. Reasonably priced wine options that are actually quite good. My favorite dish is the truffle gnocchi - amazing!!"
Dined on 1/10/2014
Love this place but had to wait a
little while for a table with our reservation. Most of their good is delicious but I wasn't a fan of the thin Sardinian bread. Tasted sort of like not great nachos. But love this place usuau."

I was in NYC over the holidays
with a group of six people. We were unable to get reservations for all six of us for dinner, so had to book two separate groups online. When we all arrived at the restaurant, the hostess was more than happy to put us all together at one table. Our waitress was also fantastic. She gave us a run-down of the specials and was very attentive and friendly all evening. The food was outstanding! Everyone's individual choices were delicious and it all paired very well with our wine choices. The wine menu was extensive and included all price levels. All in all, it was a great retaurant experience and one that I would highly recommend."
Dined on 12/21/2013
The food is above average Italian.
You must try the black truffle gnocchi but it's very heavy so I would suggest getting a half plate as a side or starter to share. The best thing about this place is it's all year garden that is kept well heated in the winter. Very romantic"

I can put my finger on one thing
they did, it was a sum of all the little things throughout the night that were just spot on! Absolutely fantastic service, great wine selection, incredible food, but all done quickly, quietly, efficiently and with smiles and on the ball staff. I can't recommend them highly enough."
Dined on 12/4/2013
nice place, ambiance was great,
waiters were friendly"

Neighborhood spot I've frequented
dozens of times... Never ever disappoints . Fantastic food and phenomenal service . A must if you are on the upper east side !"
Dined on 12/26/2013
Restaurant is beautiful. Food and
service impeccable. Thank you!"
Dined on 12/24/2013
Vibrant neighborhood Italian
restaurant with active bar scene features broad menu choices exceptionally well prepared. As noted by the Uva name, meals can be augmented by comfortable list of worldly wines - not Wine Spectator spectacular, but a nice representation of food friendly wines from around the globe, including numerous examples from the various regions of Italy. Very full of happy diners, probably not the spot for an intimate romantic dinner, but the crowd energy is contagious! Altogether, a very enjoyable Italian dinner accompanied by vino from the homeland."
Dined on 12/22/2013
The overall experience was
positive. Some items had were out of season and tasted as such. Was pleased with the wine and the meat plate appetizer."
Dined on 12/22/2013
My husband and i had a mid week
dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere was great and it felt more like a Saturday night. food was excellent and wine list had great selection with reasonable prices. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends."
Dined on 12/18/2013
I love everything about this
restaurant except the noise level. Food and service have always been excellent."
Dined on 12/15/2013
Great food, reasonable prices for
NYC, impressive wine list (though I wish there were more variety available by the glass); tight fit, but well worth it!"
Dined on 12/11/2013
Reminds me of a West Village gem
in the UES. The food was exquisite! Especially the gnocchi. And the ambience is rustic romantic, with candlelight dining and a beautiful patio in the back."
Dined on 12/5/2013
Excellent service. Nice food and
atmosphere. Would recommend to others. Thanks!"
