  • "This was our 3rd time at Ushuaia and frankly, it was disappointing. Empanada appetizer was delish! New York steak, while it was cooked just as I ordered it, was gristly and had more fat than it should have. My husband had the Rib Eye and he was disappointed also. I think we'll take a break from Ushuaia for a while. It is expensive and while we knew that, this time it was expensive and disappointing! NOT a good combination!"

I liked their side sauces, although they are a little bit too oily for me personally. The steaks are so good that you don't want to mask the flavor with a sauce anyways..."

  • "I tried Ushuaia for the first time this weekend. Went there on a Sunday night, not very crowded. We had a couple of empanadas, a steak, and the paella. All the food was good, although I thought the paella was the weakest of our dishes. The steak was definitely the standout winner. Our waiter was great. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Overall, a very good experience."

Noise level low enough that you could talk and service that was prompt and friendly. And a pretty reasonable price, too. Not much more you can ask for."

  • "My dear friend told me about this place, my boyfriend comes to visit me one time a month and he is a total meat lover! So I thought to make it a perfect end to a great day to go and check this place out. It's so close to home I could walk, great service Amazing "steaks" even though I had the Lamb I did taste his steak. The empanda's are yummy too. I love my glass of Malbec the selection of the evening. And yes we even made room for desset the crepes off the chain goodnes. I will pass on my new find and will return again real soon! And check out your Happy Hour Tthank you for sure a great meal and romantic evening. Marie"

  • "Empanadas made an excellent start to dinner at Ushuaia. Disappointing and peculiar to be out of a signature dish -- NY strip -- for Sunday dinner. The prime rib served as a good substitute, but it was a substitute -- no getting around not having the star of the show. Desert proved too rich for my blood, but many a foodie would likely enjoy the interesting offerings. Yelp's four-star review seems accurate (but running out of NY strip seems questionable)."

  • "The customer service was phenomenal. Ordered the Paella and it was alright. Not spectacular, but not horrible. Salad was nice and fresh. Friend ordered the steak, not complaints, Malbec reduction sauce and veggies served alongside were quite tasty. Customer service definitely is the buy in and would return again for another go around."

  • "When walking into the restaurant it looks amazing and as you look around at what others have ordered everything looks spectacular. Our waitress was sub par because we sat at the table for about 5 minutes after asking for water until we just asked a buser. The wait for the entree was about the worst I have seen at a $$$. There was honestly a 45 minute wait for our entree after the appetizer came. It was so bad I ordered coffee to keep my self awake. Once our food came my wife's fish was overcooked. The staff was nice and provided an alternative dish but it was more expensive and we had to pay the difference. It was disheartening to wait and then wait again. We had an 8pm reservation and we didn't give to leave until 10pm for two courses."

But to arrive and find that they have a special menu and it is not on the menu, the table is stuck almost in a broom closet and is one that is in desperate repair and should not have been in service"

  • "I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's. The service was superb, very attentive to all our needs. The food was delicious and it felt very filling without making me feel heavy or bloated. For me that's one of the signs of quality food. The Crepes for desert with fruit and ice cream were probably the best I've ever had. Great place to take a date. My girlfriend loved it! The ambience is very clean and quiet and the wine list is extensive with something for any person's taste. The prices are expensive, but reasonable. About $90 per person if you order two drinks. This is definitely a place I would go back to and I would recommend it to friends."

  • "I go often to Ushuaia (third time in Feb alone) and have never had a bad meal, until now. This was Valentine's Dinner and the management (should you grace them with that term) destroyed the dining experience. First, they changed the menu (without any notice - big negative) taking off the best items and those that remained they altered at least slightly, not for the better, and charged more (okay, this I can live with since it is a big night). The food came slowly, service was much worse than normal (come-on guys, you know how many people are coming and when, why is it so hard for you to staff??).. I asked for a specific item to be altered due to an allergy, and the cook did not bother to change. The owners should terminate the managers!"

The vegetables were perfect. The whiskey flavored ice cream was delicious and the Malbec was the best I ever had. I thought overall it was good, but a little pricey. The name of the restaurant made for good dinner starter conversation...."

  • "We had just come from our traditional Christmas movie and were planning to order in Thai food when we saw that Ushaia was open. Although our first experience with the restaurant when the Argentine steak house replaced our old favorite Drago, was less tha satisfying, we thought we'd take a chance. And the risk was repaid quite nicely, thank you. After a simple salad that was perfectly dressed we had the whitefish and rib eye. Both were done perfectly, especially the steak that had just the right amount of marbling and was seasoned so well it didn't need the selection of sauces that came with it. Sides of grilled vegetables and french fries were also spot on. Merry Christmas"

  • "This restaurant had impeccable service and absolutely delicious food. The Argentinean wine was smooth and a fantastic accompaniment to our steaks. We selected tender juicy steaks wrapped in bacon and topped with a mushroom/gorgonzola mixture which just melted in your mouth. Since we are out--of-town, we decided that this will be our "go-to" restaurant the next time we are in Santa Monica and have a special occasion to celebrate. Although it's expensive, it's worth the treat!"

The skirt steak and paella were better than our high expectations, and our server was attentive, respectful, and very personable. The atmosphere was just right for us to have a quiet conversation. Overall, we had an excellent meal, and felt well cared-for by the staff."

  • "This was our first time eating here and it was terrific. The food and service were outstanding! We loved the empanadas(had the beef and corn) and were sorry we could not taste them all. Two of us had the lamb chop special and thought it was delicious. I ordered the short ribs which were done medium rare and were still tender and falling off the bone. The creamy polenta and Swiss chard accompanying them were scrumptious. We were sorry that we did not have room for dessert as we wanted to try the flan. I cannot wait to return!! Furthermore, the atmosphere was terrific and very conducive to conversation as the acoustics were great (carpet on the floor certainly helps)! I hope to schedule a party in one of the private rooms in the near future."

It kind of a depressing atmosphere... Waiter efficient but not enthusiastic…bus boys very nice We loved the food, but because of the environment we would not hurry back."

  • "I proposed to my wife in Argentina, so it was a meaningful dinner for us. What was supposed to be a nice romantic anniversary dinner for my wife and me turned into a family dinner when our babysitter flaked at the last minute and we had to bring our 7-mo old son along. Fortunately the restaurant was more than accomodating and we were able to enjoy ourselves regardless (my apologies to the other diners for the random baby noises). The food was great! We had empanadas and chorizo for our appetizer plates. My wife had the rib eye (w/ a glass of malbec, naturally) and I had the paella. All were very tasty and well presented dishes. All in all a very enjoyable dining experience."
