A word from Urbane
Our restaurant menus and décor are inspired by the culinary spoils of the Pacific Northwest, and we take great pride in working with our local farmers and producers to ensure quality and dependability. Our lounge has become a neighbourhood favourite for happy hour or pre-theater drinks and bites. Our team of mixologists create one-of-a-kind specialty and classic cocktails to pair with our small plate offerings.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "My wife and I have gone to Urbane several times, and each has been good. Portions are large, and we shared a salad and entree. The salad--marinated kale with sliced apple and Beecher's cheddar--was excellent. The hamburger was about as good as a hamburger that expensive should be. The wine-by-the-glass prices are unnecessarily aggressive. The waiter offered to be especially attentive because there was a large party in that evening that could tax the kitchen--he wanted to be sure we got in ahead. Noisier than I like, but some might like the energy."

  • "We dined during Seattle Restaurant Week and really enjoyed the 3 course offerings. Kitchen and bar service were a little slow; maybe due to the Diana Krall concert 2 blocks away which may have caused a one time surge in diners all with the same time lines. Wait staff was very attentive and efficient."

  • "We were in a party of six. All agreed that the portions were small and there was more food int he ice cream desert than the meal. The pace of lunch was slow but the service good and staff accommodating (one of our party showed up late). "

  • "Halibut entree and accompaniement was terrific. So was the salad. Competent, courteous and non obtrusive service. Very good food near the convention center and perfect for a business lunch or dinner. Dining room near the bar is loud early and then becomes OK. Back area is better for conversation. "

  • " The food was nothing spectacular, the crab and shrimp salad...tasted like it came out of one of those prepackaged deli dips found in the seafood section at the grocery store. I had the Pork loin, was confused as to why there were chunks of smoked salt rocks on it...so I brushed it off. The pork loin came with okay collard greens, and mashed potatoes that was supposed to have bacon/panchetta...but tasted more like ham...and the taters them self, might have been instant. Lastly desert, ordered the rhubarb strawberry sundae. Turns out it's basically neopolitan ice cream with 3 slivers of rhubarb. Wait staff put/dropped/scattered new utensils on the bare table. Unsanitary, and not professional."

  • "We were hoping for lunch but alas only Brunch on Sundays. Not very busy. Service was quick, Food ok."

  • "We had crab cakes which were excellent. Very meaty and fresh. Also had a delicious lamb stew soup which was excellent. Oddly, I found the salad lack luster.. I could barely taste the dressing. A tiny portion of pear."

  • "I visited urbane during Seattle's restaurant week. The menu seemed pretty interesting and you got 3 courses for $15. While the food was pretty tasty, the service was not that great. Our waiter took forever to take our order, and I guess he assumed that we weren't going to order wine because he didn't show us a wine list. It was to a horrible dining experience overall but I probably won't go back if I'm in Seattle again."

  • "We were going to the Paramount for an afternoon performance and the Urbane was a convenient walk from where we parked and the theater. The Eggs Benedict and French Toast were both good. Our server did a good job and was very pleasant. The other wait staff were also very welcoming. Overall a very nice experience."

  • "The food was fantastic. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is fabulous.... I will be going again. I ate here for the first time with friends on a Sunday before the Lion King at the Paramount, the play and the dining experience at Urbane were both so good I bought tickets to the Lion King for my mom and sister for the following Saturday night and made reservations at Urbane for them for dinner beforehand. They loved it too!"

  • "Located within walking distance to the paramount theatre. Delicious cocktails, and small plates - mixed green salad, crab cake, hand cut fries and halibut dinner were all very good. Our waitress was excellent too! Our server was very helpful with drink suggestions and made sure we had plenty of time to make our show."

  • "We selected urbane because we had tickets to the lion king and it was close to the paramount. The food was for good for the most part, but my pork loin was dry. Much of the food was under seasoned IMO. Service was good"

  • "When you get down to it, this is a just a hotel restaurant and bar like most I've seen in my travels. Nothing of the menu or experience said "farm-to-table" as their website so clearly overstates. The menu is very limited and nothing strikes as anything conceived from a visit to the farmers' market. As I've seen noted elsewhere, the service doesn't live up to expectations or menu prices. Again, it's a hotel restaurant and the style of service comes through. Absolutely nothing engaging about the service standard here. We arrived shortly after 5PM and we did not finish until 6:45. This was a long time for appetizers and mains in an empty restaurant. This place is fine if you are spending your company's per diem. Noting locals-worthy."

  • "On a late Sunday morning you would have expected it to be a little busier, but it was not. I had the smoked salmon omelette and my daughter had a scramble. They were both OK, my smoked salmon omelette had a good portion of smoked salmon, but it came in the form of sliced lox between the folds of egg. A better prep might have been to dice some and put it in the egg mixture, same with the cream cheese. It was close to where we were staying so it was highly convenient, but slightly overpriced for the product. I would return if I had to but there are so many fine food options in Seattle, to limit myself by returning here."

  • "This was our first visit to Urbane, hoping it would be good for dinner before our 8pm engagement at the nearby Paramount. Arrived a bit early for our dinner reservation, but were seated right away. Started with drinks and the wonderful crab cake. Entrees were interesting and very tasty. Service was prompt and attentive but not hovering. Very pleasant. All in all we had a very relaxed time. Will come again."

  • "Celebrated my son's birthday with friends prior to seeing a show at the Paramount. All five of us had a delicious dinner , varying from pork loin, salmon, and cod and the roasted kale salad was especially delicious! We shared a great bottle of wine, and had very attentive service. Since we were celebrating two birthdays, they didn't charge for the desserts ordered (which were fabulous). Would definitely go here again."

  • "It was a bit noisey, but a great location since we were headed to the Paramount Theater. The salads were all great and also the crab cake was very good."

  • "The menu for lunch was quite limited. The section in the menu said "small plate" but I wanted a lunch size salad. I asked if I could add some chicken for protein, which they did gladly. I was disappointed by the limited amount of selections. The caesar salad was nothing to write home about. The dressing was rather bland. It needs real cheese slices, rather than the sprinkled type of parmesan."

  • "One block up, two blocks over and you are away from the large chain restaurants near the Convention Center in Seattle. A good find for a nice dinner, farm to table, good wine list. Food was excellent. We ate there two nights during a recent conference. Service tries very hard but doesn't quite cut it if you are used to New York or Los Angeles or Chicago. A little slow, a little distracted, overwhelmed by the Saturday crowd, but not enough to ruin the meal. Truly when you need a break from the restaurants of a 1000 cities but don't have the time leave the Convention Center area, this is perfect!"

  • "We had a great pre-show meet-up here before a performance at the Paramount Theatre. The service was timely. The food was great. The pours were also hefty. GOod beer choice as well. Only issue was the confusion regarding bills as we were a rather large group and the waitress seemed a little flustered by it. Small insignificant issue, but a issue nonetheless."

  • "Everything we ordered was wonderful. Their happy hour prices are affordable, especially for the food quality. It's right around the corner from The Paramount-perfect restaurant to hit before a show!"

  • "Wasn't amazing, not bad either. Fairly empty for that time of night and still slower service. Not as attentive as should be - had to flag down our server three times to ask for things and also brought the wrong meal to start with for one of us. Very sweet and apologetic, but just not quite at the level you'd expect when you're paying that for dinner."

  • "Went there for my birthday and the chef did a custom vegan entree for me. My waiter, Johnny, was fantastic, the service was great! Over all the food was very good, everyone in my party was beyond happy, and full. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded at all, granted it was snowing outside so not many people were out. Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion even if it's just a dinner out. I chose the restaurant because they are vegan/vegetarian friendly and they support sustainability and local ingredients. It's definitely a must-try!"

  • "My husband & I had 530 reservations on a Tuesday. I wasn't sure what to expect, because I've got several dietary restrictions (gluten-free, no red meat, no MSG), but I was thrilled with this restaurant! Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and the food was delicious, too! I ordered something that usually comes w/toasted bread, but, being GF, I asked them to leave it off. I was surprised when it arrived & had triangles of toasted bread! I asked about it, & they actually used Udi's GF bread & toasted it for me! :D All of our food was presented beautifully in addition to being delicious! We didn't have drinks, but they have a drink menu & happy hour. I really don't believe that you can go wrong with Urbane. We will definitely be going back!"

  • "On a whim we booked a table at Urbane for Valentine's Day -- and we loved the experience. Great service, delicious food (the Chicken and Salmon were perfectly seasoned) with a ridiculously huge serving of dessert. We will definitely stop in here again."

  • "The Ambiance was nice. Was a bit chilly sitting by window but once food and wine arrived, warmed up. Service was attentive and timely. Food delicious; loved the kale salad and pork chops were perfectly prepared . Great dinner spot before a show at the Paramount."

  • "Went there for Valentine's Day last week. The food was disappointing for the money. The ribeye was too thin and fatty (not a good cut), and came out with some weird crust on top that was not expected. We also had cod, which was pretty good. The appetizer cheese offering was not very good. The potato pancake appetizer was probably the best thing we had. I've eaten there before and had better food, it might have been an off night--it was fairly busy due to Valentine's Day I guess. The room temperature was also too cold."

  • "Inattentive service and food-to-table exorbitantly slow with hardly anyone in the restaurant. Combine this with being charged food we didn't order and the waitress implying it must have been our fault warrants this restaurant receiving a sub-par rating even though the food was good. The good food wasn't worth the poor service. I should have listened to other Open reviewers who commented about the poor service."

  • "Urbane was a great spot for pre-theater dining. The staff knows that the theaters are close and ensures food and service are handled in time without feeling rushed or put out. The menu is a bit limited, making me feel like I was at a set dinner, but the meal was very good. Overall, I would definitely recommend it."

  • "The waiter asked if we were going to the show, then recommended some items based on the timeframe. He brought me a large taste of a Malbec he had recommended, just on his own will as I was waiting for my friends to join. The waiter was very attentive, good was excellent . The prices were normal and the atmosphere chic ."

  • "We picked this restaurant to celebrate our New Year's Eve dinner and it was a nice relaxing place to enjoy dinner before our big evening out. The food was really good, the lighting set a nice tone, the waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly and overall we really had a good time."

  • "Located in the Hyatt at Olive 8, this farm to table restaurant offers the freshest ingredients. I had "My Favorite Scramble" and found it delicious. The little peppers add a nice tangy taste with the goat cheese. The waiter suggested the Denver omelette for my husband and he enjoyed it very much. A nice find for breakfast in downtown Seattle."

  • "It was a lunch meeting at noon. One person had travelled 16 miles because she was recommended to go to this restaurant. One person ordered coffee to start with. We kept getting refill for coffee but no one came to take the lunch order for 20 or so minutes. We got our lunch order in normal time without the silverware. Fresh found pepper- no on bothered to offer. Lunch was okay. too much mayonnaise in the salad dressing. And of ofcourse mustard without asking. We get the silverware. Get coffee spoons for the soup. No problem. We can deal with that. After lunch we order two orders of cappuccino coffee. How bad can it get? It does not come with spoons. We have to ask for spoons separately."

  • "NYE dinner. Place was full but not overly crowded. It took us 30 minutes to get our first round of drinks. My drink was so sour that I had to send it back. The food order took another 45 minutes. The fries were incredibly salty. The steelhead was okay. Nobody was manning the hostess stand at one point and a homeless man came and harassed at least 2 tables. A patron had to go to the back to get someone to do something about it. This place is not worth the money you spend."
