  • "Done the big-box fondue place but it has gotten too expensive. The three course meal here was perfect in size and quality. Our server was wonderful and patient. The tables are pretty small if at one for two but waiters juggled and made it all fit. My only suggestions - more options for dipping cheese besides bread - they had gluten free bread but raw veggies are great and just as cheap! Same with chocolate - skip the ultra sweet donuts and the cookie dough and put in more fruit or plain pound cake. Not nearly enough dippers for the amount of chocolate but we were so full by then didn't care. We will be back!"

The food was mediocre at best, the restaurant is in desperate need of updating, and there was a spill that the waiter only half cleaned and I was left to clean the rest. We have eaten at many places from Florida to Washington and this is on the bottom of our list."

  • "Though we arrived a few minutes early, it took 20 minutes to find a parking spot making us late, and it was just a 1 hour spot so I had to walk 5 blocks in the middle of dinner to move it. So bring your walking shoes and enjoy the rest of the pearl before dinner, take a bus, come extra early, google search a close garage or lot to park in. The restaurant itself is not large, but the food was really good, and unique. The waiter was very friendly and informative, with what works well together. The atmosphere was not too loud and had a romantic mood. I would go again, if I was planning to do some shopping nearby, it would have been nice to know that there was not close parking available, but otherwise it was great!"

  • "We had a groupon for the Fondue Experience. First time we have ever been there. Parking was a pain of course, but that is normal for the area. Once inside, the tiny place is very quaint. The staff is wonderful--our waitress was the best. Loved the Gorgonzola/Brie fondue--to die for. The entrees and dessert are top of the line as well. I would recommend this place to people looking for a unique night out. I just wish the tables were bigger so you would have more room for everything. I kept thinking we would knock something off the table at some point as it was so crowded with everything."

  • "The restaurant was crowded with Groupon customers. We were seated right away. While the food was good and the service was very good, the restaurant was in desperate need of updating. Tacky carpet, ugly wall color, and a portion of the ceiling in unpainted plywood. Nice. I won't be going back."

  • "We have been to Urban Fondue many times and keep going back. However, we seem to forget that the restaurant does not have air conditioning and on a sweltering day it's a tad warm. We made the mistake of visiting on a day where the temps outside were 97 degrees and with two cooking pots and a glass of wine or two things got a little warm. Service was wonderful and food was great, especially the brie and gorgonzola fondue. Great drink menu as well. I recommend Urban Fondue on a moderately warm to cool day."

  • "My husband and I do not get downtown as often as we'd like, but when we are able to hit up Urban Fondue, we never regret it. Vince has been working there for a long timewhen obviously shows he likes the company enough to stay their long term. He is so friendly and goes out of his way to make sure the experience is special. We both left this last time saying we need to make sure we get down there more often!! Food is amazing and it is very reasonably priced."

  • "I would likely have never tried Urban Fondue as it's in an area of town that I don't enjoy much. And I am so happy that I tried it regardless. The service was very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Our waiter, Shawn, was great. My partner and I each ordered a drink from their list and were highly impressed. Those bartenders have skill! We had the Fondue Experience, which is a three course option. First, we got a bacon-tomato-basil cheese fondue, which we enthusiastically devoured. It was AMAZING. Combined with our drinks, I wanted to shout from the rooftops that I LOVE this meal. The entrees and desert were phenomenal as well, though I hold that the cheese was the star. I will be both recommending and returning to Urban Fondue."

  • "I purchased a groupon for this dining experience. Upon arriving we were seated quickly, we had a reservation, the waitress was great and spent time with us explaining the menu, telling us her favorite items and suggestions, etc. We ordered our food and were ready to get started. The first course came out and was delicious. The main course arrived shortly after we finished our appetizer. We were pretty impressed with the selection of meats and seafoods we had at our fingertips but upon cooking some lobster tails and scallops the smell was overwhelming and the fish was no good. No discount was offered and the overall dining experience went downhill. At 9p we were asked to leave our table because the next reservation had arrived."

  • "Hubster and I went here on a Groupon. We enjoy dining, but had not tried fondue. The staff was very helpful in assisting us with making choices and providing tips for enjoying the experience (especially the hot pot). We found the food delicious and the staff was very focused on providing an excellent dining experience. We already have a reservation in place for the coming week! Even the parking in NW Portland can't dissuade us from becoming regulars. Of special note - I ordered a martini, but had not yet sipped it. While talking our waiter found out mangos trigger anaphylactic shock and quickly whisked away my drink and had a new one made to ensure I was not accidently exposed to mango juice. Very thoughtful and appreciated."

  • "We have visited 3 times and each was different than the other. We had a Groupon for each visit as I went with others. The 1st and 3rd visit, it came with a side item, when I. Inquired on time 2 I was told no and when I ordered mashed potatoes he said it would be 20min. Hmm never mind. We ordered some mock drinks ( they are good) sometimes unlimited refills and some times like our last visit, this comes with 1 refill. Sometimes you get a nice array of veggies sometimes no. Our last visit my 1 carrot was a thin slice smaller than a pair of tweezers. The cheese fondue was cold. I guess it's OK but not worth the price at full price and very inconsistent. Also, the booth seating is very uncomfortable. Too low to the ground. Willpass"

  • "We had a three course meal via Groupon. The cheese fondues were WONDERFUL. The kids loved the dessert fondues most, and we all enjoyed the main course as well. Our waiter was excellent: efficient, attentive, knowledgeable. We sat in one of the plush booths and the kids loved the pillows. Very pleased with the whole experience and would highly recommend to anyone. You need time to eat here if you do a three course. Very worth it."

  • "We took our twins there for their 11th birthday. We spoke to the waiter several times about their peanut allergy and be sure we didn't get anything with peanuts or peanut butter. So they brought out a special birthday dessert with peanut butter filled pretzels! We told the waiter they were filled with peanut butter and he said he didn't know what was inside. What else is typically in a nugget shaped pretzel?"

  • "I wanted to choose a tasty and unique restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday and figured I'd give urban fondue a shot. Prices were good in comparison to your rival, the melting pot, but still a little high. Understandable for the ambience and the experience. Our server Ryan was friendly and recommended his favorites (which was nice since there are many options). Requested a booth on open table and none were available when we came in, but we were accommodated with the seats in the back, which we enjoyed. Food was good, definitely plentiful. only thing I would say that I wish could have been done was honoring the groupon deal. It was expired and I mainly chose urban fondue as a result of coming across it on groupon. Other than that, great!"

We got to choose two types of cheese fondue and sides to start, four entrees (mostly meat and veggies that you cook yourself! In broth chosen by the chef), and two dessert fondues that came with tons of delicious treats for dipping. Choosing a drink is always fun here as well - so many things to try! Our waitress was kind and attentive and the four of us had a great time sitting at a perfect table outside. Definitely a good place for a date or double date!"

  • "We would not have known about this place without Groupon and it is well worth it. The main dishes were standard fondue fare but awesome dipping sauces and choices of cooking broth. The port wine cheese fondue to start with was amazing as was the polenta with goat cheese and mushrooms. To finish with marionberry cheesecake fondue instead of the typical chocolate was the best! Who can complain about dipping yummy bites into what is essentially melted cheesecake? This place definitely has a NW take on the food, differentiating it from a chain restaurant. Don't forget to go to the adjacent Bartini and try any of their vast array of martinis (spicy cucumber and passiontini were awesome!)"

  • "I went here with my teen for a night out. It was the first time for both of us to try fondue. The whole experience from beginning to end was awesome. Not one bad thing I could say about it. We did the Fondue Experience which is appetizer to share, entrée for each, and desert to share. We will definitely do this again, but next time just for dessert since we already tried the entrée "
