The restaurant has a great vibe, whether it's the awesome outdoor patio with incredible views of Lake Calhoun, the energetic bar area, or the classic more subdued yet still dynamic dining room.
The food - AND drinks! - never fail to disappoint, and the service has always been excellent.
We have been their for dinner, appetizers and happy hours on multiple occasions, and most recently for Mother's Day - mom's choice! It was a great time to dine, we were seated in the upper dining room in a booth and it fit everyone well. Service was great and family friendly, food was tasty and no one blinked an eye when the kiddos got restless and needed to stretch their legs and explore a bit. Great views of Calhoun and parking was $2 in the ramp. Staff acted happy we were there (this is not always the case when eating out) and were gracious and informative in their service. Food was well prepared and tasty. The feel is very comfortable and welcoming. The bartenders are fun, they were flipping some bottles (not too much, just a little for fun) and entertaining the patrons. When it came to ordering food, everyone at our table happened to get the Local Burger. Upon arrival, our plates were excellently prepared. The burger tasted lean and savory with nice add-ons, too. The proportion was just right (unlike the oversized/unmanageable ones at Burger Jones). I think it was one of the healthier burgers I've had. This was our second visit here and we'll definitely return to pursue more of the menu items. However, the food is well beyond, in both variety and quality, what you would call standard. The food combinations are inventive and incredibly tasty. The spicing is interesting, but not over-powering. Smoked Duck Nachos were very different and delicious. Salads were fresh and had interesting combinations that worked extremely well. Salmon and pork chop were cooked to order and were delicious. The only thing that was "standard" was really the dessert menu. Our vegetarian diner had no problem finding things to order. All menu items were reasonably priced, good portion size and tasty. The birthday boy was treated to dessert! Attentive service by personable server. Free valet parking was great especially since it was raining. All around enjoyable experience. We used a groupon that allowed us to sample everything from the starters to dessert. The Steak Urban was very good and the Thai Lettuce wraps are a great starter. My only complaint is that it's a bit loud if you are there before 8 pm. It get's quieter later on but the large open space is noisy.

He told us about great unique items on the menu and his advice was awesome as we had the steak and the salmon and both were fabulous! We had a large party and he took excellent care of us- even to the point of having valet pull up our cars at the end, giving us parking vouchers and timing a take-home desert of some of the best creme brulee I'd ever had, sent out at the very end so it would be as fresh as possible. We got the 1/2 price wine on Tues night and it was great along with the split of Chandon Rose champagne which was lovely. The waiter was very kind and gave us a wealth of information about the food. He was genuinely excited about the food and that was refreshing. We tried a variety of items including the Thai lettuce wraps, which were very good, the beet salad - again very good, and the pear salad - just okay. We had the duck and the pork chop - both tasty. We shared the chocolate creme pot and that was delicious. Very nice evening, good food, and great service.
