My compliments to those that derived the plan and menu. An excellent brunch with quality food, great service, and excellent ambiance. After finding out it was sold out and not changing reservations, I took it as a good sign. Indeed it was! The food was amazing and certainly the best brunch we have ever been to! The tapas options was a nice additional touch on top of the buffet options (which were quite impressive). I would definitely recommend Upstream to others and for anyone looking for a different place to celebrate a special occasion. To her surprise I picked a Gem! She only eats seafood, so when she saw the menu online she said is was "seafood heaven". Our entire party for the evening enjoyed everything and we have all agreed to return very soon. In the interim they have redesigned their layout and moved the buffet from a large room in the front to the restaurant to a small room in the back. It seemed like both the quality and selection of items on offer has dropped. Even the tapas selections that are prepared in the kitchen seemed to be lacking. The service is right on task, not to oppressive and yet always there when you want them. It is a very welcoming restaurant with a great dining room, and more importantly amazing food. Highly recommend - I have only been to Upstream for business, but if I lived in Charlotte, it would be a special place to take the wife. The service is great. They are knowledgible, professional and attentive.Try the staff selections for wine and you will never be disapointed wiht your wine choice.The renovated bar area is fantastic for causual dining with comfortable seating ,bar bites [as well as regular menu] and wide screen tv's above the bar.

Our waitress was top notch and answered every question we threw at her, everything from what was in Chinese 5 spice to a brief history of St. Germaine liquor.
Food was first rate, I do wish the menu was a bit more descriptive though. It would tell you what was in a dish but not how the dish was prepared.

Our server was very pleasant and helpful but I had to ask about my martini order. It obviously arrived late whether she forgot to place the order or the bartender was slow in making the drink. Instead of slowing down the food order to allow for the cocktail to be consumed, we actually received our appetizer prior to the drink which was fine, but before we had finishe the appetizer and the martini our food order came which was a bit much to have on the table at one time.
