The menu options are so varied, creative and perfectly prepared. I love the portion sizes - it makes trying more selections irresistible. The wine list is spectacular, and there are many other great cocktail and beer choices. Buy a few bottles for home the store is closed. Lost money. Make more wine avail for less so we can
go to the store and leave with a case. Who wants to pay $12-20 for a glass to try something.
All wines should be $3 a glass. Bottles remain at retail. If I love a glass of wine at $3
and a bottle costs $75. I will buy it. If I have to pay $15 to try a glass I'm prob not gonna taste it or buy it.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat an absolute gem this place is!I made a reservation here because The Six was booked and OpenTable said Upstairs2 was similar. Upstairs2 also got really great reviews from other diners, so it seemed like I couldn't go too wrong...and it turned out to be really great! I had a very tasty basil gimlet cocktail to start, then my friend and I ordered four small dishes to share: lamb meatballs, duck cassoulet, the trio of tapenades, and scallops with saffron risotto. All of them were out of this world. And I really love small dishes; one big plate of the same thing can be boring, and I like the variety of ordering several things at once. The service was very friendly and attentive. You must try it!!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways greatMy husband and I and another couple meet for dinner at Upstairs2 at least once a month and have never had a bad meal here, at very reasonable prices, with lovely ambience, and a knowledgable wait-staff who are prepared to answer all wine or food questions. If you are on their mailing list for e-mail updates, you can get notices of upcoming special prices on fixed-price dinners - great bargains, featuring distinctively interesting and tasty dishes. Once inside the restaurant, peace and quiet reign, and the ambience is lovely, although this is hard to imagine as you stand in the parking lot, on top of a wine store where you will be looking right at the 405 freeway. Never fear. The restaurant is tucked away on the top floor of what appears to be a general nondescript office building. The surrounding neighborhood is also less than to be desired shall we say. However, when you drive up the ramp to park and enter the space, you are magically transported to a trendy upscale dining experience. The food is outstanding and if it is your first visit, definitely go with the tasting menu. It is both reasonably priced and provides a great overall sample of all the dishes and wine parings. It is definitely a different dining experience at Upstairs 2, but highly recommended. If memory serves, the menu itself also showed greater innovation. Don't miss the duck cassoulet or the blood orange salad.

The wine selection is extensive and reasonably priced. Many wine are available in two sizes of glasses, by 12 oz. carafe, or by bottle. The food served in small plates is quite good. The service is excellent. The total bill is shockingly small. This place continues to be one of the best values in town for those who demand fine wines.
