This was our second time at Upstairs 2, and we'll be back. The food is excellent - we even like the small portions. The service is very friendly and attentive. It takes a bit to figure out the food and wine pairings, but in the end you just pick what you like.

My daughter suggested I not eat here because she had several unmemorable meals several years ago. We ordered appetizers, entrées, extra side dishes and dessert. Every single dish was excellent. I don't know if they changed the chef or what other changes were made but I highly recommend this restaurant. The pairings with wine were also excellent.

I do appreciate Upstairs 2's objective;helping diners match wines to culinary selections offered on the menu. Unfortunately it is difficult to fully comprehend what food choices are available.... the menu at first appears to be the Wine list, only after careful study does one find the food. It is difficult to see what is an appetizer, main course etc... otherwise the food was excellent

We all ordered different wines after discussing choices with a well-informed server. We were all delighted with our choices. Some of us shared our appetizers and entree items which worked out well. The broiled chicken was ok; the meatloaf excellent; the Moroccan chicken delicious as were the lamb chops! Dessert was enjoyed and this birthday celebration was enjoyed by all.

We went to Upstairs 2 for my birthday. We have seen the chef/ owner on a t.v. show called "Chopped" This is how we pick a lot of the restaurants we go to in Los Angeles. Parking is great! Food Amazing! Wine expertly paired with foods. Had the Venison Ravioli, Bison Hanger Steak as our favorites of the night. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any body! Oh and the prices are moderate and it is almost like a tapas menu. Lots of fun to share!

I always love this restaurant because I like to eat lots of different things in the same meal. I particularly loved the lemon pesto shrimp this time. I love the fact it lists suggested wines for each food selection. It's a great place for vegans and vegetarians too as there are so many vegetables options.

This is my favorite restaurant on the West Side, possibly in all of LA. Food is fabulous, gourmet cooking. Love eating tapa style and their wine matches for the dishes are brilliant. Not the most appealing interior, but they've done everything to make it nice and have quiet (curtains, carpet, etc.) A number of table have to be placed side by side. I recommend going early and savoring your meal, but if you like loud and "happening" scene, I hear it starts about 10 and goes to 1:00.

We are Upstairs 2 fans and eat there as often as we can. Usually bring friends and they all love it, too. This small plates restaurant/wine bar has a habit of out doing itself time after time. We all had the main lobster tasting menu with wine pairings and every course and pairing was perfect. And you get a lot for your money here. I always leave there feeling lucky to know a little secret that I can happily share with those who do know.

The experience was very disappointing. They messed up our order and forgot to order one of the entrees. Then when ordering dessert, it was only 8:20 and they were already out of our dessert choice. We've been here before and had issues with the services as well but not as badly as this time. The food is very good but I'm not sure it's worth the overall poor dining experience.

Went for DineLA. My server greeted us with a smile, I think his name is Sean. He was knowledgeable and efficient. It took me a bit to decide on my menu, so many great choices. I decided on the creamiest tastiest ravioli with the melt in your mouth garlicky tomato sauce. yum!! From there I chose the salmon; it was fresh and the basil beuree sauce was really tasty. I was so stuffed that I decided to order the Hibiscus and Peach Bellini sorbet; both were light and flavorful. I also ordered the wine paring, the pinot was my favorite. My friend ordered the crab rolls, she said they were so fresh and sweet. I can't wait to try them next time. She did not want to do the wine pairing and asked the Som for her advice, bravo. I will be back.

Service was pretty abysmal. It was dineLA week, so perhaps that was why. But wine pairings were dropped off with no explanation of what they were. and the 3rd course wine pairing came well after the 3rd course. The waitress seemed to disappear for large stretches of time (and much of her time was spent hanging out at the bar), and it took her 2 tries to get the credit card split correct. Not what we expected given this restaurant's reputation.

We had the three-course DineLA meal and everything we had was very good. We also had the wine flight and, as you would expect from a restaurant above the Wine House, the wines were well-chosen and very interesting. We will certainly go back to this restaurant for an ordinary meal before long.

My best friend and I took our significant others on a double date here for restaurant week. We all ordered similar foods, we tried the crab cake appetizer, sirloin steak, veal, bread pudding and sorbet. In addition we each went with the wine pairing for an additional $20. Pros: Ambiance was very nice, it is a small restaurant so it feels intimate Wine pairing--I am not usually a pinot person, but the choices were excellent Staff--our waitress was very friendly and attentive Sirloin--I really enjoyed my steak and I think others did as well Bread pudding--It was rich and tasty and exactly what bread pudding should be Cons: The crab cake was good, but I wouldn't go back just for that Spicy Marg, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't that special

We go to Upstairs 2 about every month or so. Every other time we have been there, the service has been outstanding, the food delicious and the wines superior. This time, we were very disappointed - waited a long time to be served. We had to send the wine back, the food was dry and had no flavor and our friends who were there for the first time with us were underwhelmed. The parking lot was packed and they resorted to a valet, I understand, as a result of Dine LA. Perhaps that was the issue with the food - too many people and not enough time to tend to the flavor. We will give them another chance as we really like the people and have loved the food in the past.

We had a terrific experience at UPSTAIRS 2. Our waitress, Morgan, had great suggestions for our menu selections. She was professional, as was the rest of the staff at the restaurant. All of the small plates that we tried were delicious and the Dine LA menu is a terrific value, especially with the wine pairings. The desserts were mediocre. We will return.

My boyfriend and I came here for a birthday dinner date. We are early 30s, and when we arrived the place was packed with people easily twice our age. We were the youngest by a mile. The ambiance is nice and the setting/furniture is modern, but the restaurant seemed stale overall. The food was average, the service was nice and attentive, but lacked polish. Overall, the night was average. Nothing was bad, but nothing was memorable. This is a cute spot and the promise of wine pairings is fun, but the menu and the clientele need a makeover to turn this into an in-demand spot. We likely won't go back.

My husband and I went to an early dinner (6pm) here before a movie. I don't want this to come off the wrong way but we were the only diners under 70 for the majority of our meal. I know it was an early dinner but it didn't add to the experience. Regarding the food... The crackers that came with the cheese plate were stale, our mahi was over cooked and with the exception of the mushroom ravioli everything else tasted average and the presentation was uninspired. Additionally, our server didn't seem to know much about the wine which is pretty shocking for a restaurant that groups their food by wine pairings.
