  • "I had enjoyed my first visit to Uproot in Warren. Our server, Dan, made our experience very enjoyable. The food was very good, and we had trouble deciding what to order as everything sounded excellent. We ended up ordering the Mac and Cheese bites, lobster bisque mac and cheese, the blue burger, and roasted chicken as our appetizers and entrees. Everything was very tasty and flavorful and the food presentation was that of a 5 star restaurant. Overall our experience was a pleasant one and will definitely return back for future visits."

  • "Executive Chef Mark Farro has mastered basic dishes with amazing ingredients and flare. He is young and smart not to mention very very talented. Uproots menu ranges from Tacos with braised pork to Hamburgers with all the fixings. YOU have to try his waffle fries w/sea salt. Whatever your occasion, try uproot.   • "I took my wife here for Valentine's Day. The food was excellent. We started off with grilled octopus. My wife had shrimp and brown rice for dinner while I had the duck. Overall it was very good. Final bill was a little higher than I was expecting. ($200 for two people with tip)"

  • "From the friendly welcome, to the perfect table, fantastic service and outstanding food this was indeed a memorable experience. Short Rib stew, delictable, Bahn Mi tacos and the Tuna Tatare were off the charts, superb texture and flavor on the duck and we cannot forget the donuts and the salted caramel dipping sauce. It was a Birthday Celebration for my wife and daughter and we could not have chosen a better place. Nice relaxed ambience, not too loud, very little wait time despite the fact the restaurant was at capacity when we arrived. My thanks to the waiter, owner and kitchen staff for one of the best dinners I have ever had making this a very special celebration for us. We shall return."

  • "We heard about Uproot from a friend and we decided to make a trip here to celebrate the date with a nice dinner at a new place. We were not at all disappointed. The space was outstanding, a large open area but at the same time giving off a very homey feel to it. The earthen colors and decor really give off a great vibe while you are looking over the menu, which is a wonderful blend of upscale techniques and quality products used on some old favorites and some new ideas that blew us away. The servers seem to be well versed in fine dining etiquette, and make you feel as though you are spending much more for your meal then you actually are. Very attentive, friendly, and must have had great training and practice to get to their level of skill."

  • "We had an early dinner on a Friday night, and every bite was delicious. However, due to its need to offer a less-expensive and more family-friendly menu, the "full-meal" part of the menu is a bit limited. However, the items on it are perfection. In relation to the service, in addition to excellent table service, we had a little issue that was well handled. We ordered a wine that it turned out I did not like. There was nothing wrong with it, I just did not like it. The manager made a significant effort to understand what i did like, and changed it. He also checked back later to make sure all was well, and it was!"

  • "When you first look at the menu, it's hard to figure out what type of restaurant Uproot is trying to be. Then you hone in on something you'd like to eat, order it, and OMG!!! I adore the eggplant meatballs (that have no meat in them). The mussels have some of the best broth I've had on the East coast. The pasta I had the other night was outstanding. Thoroughly enjoy the food!!!"

  • "We had heard mixed reviews from people we knew but we hadn't tried Uproot yet and were pleasantly surprised. We went just a table for 2 to celebrate my wifes birthday. We were greeted warmly and having a semi formal coat service is a big plus this time of year. We were seated at a table with a chair and part of a common bench that my wife felt was a little squishy. we loved the solid surface tables, sleek and easy to keep clean. We had the edamame and spring rolls ,the sauteed shrimp with veggies, and the Rib-eye special. The Steak was fantastic, cooked perfectly medium rare, sliced over wilted spinach and top with potato straws. You could cut it with a fork! Donuts were a unique and delicious dessert."

The menu has been simplified since we were last there and at first we were disappointed that the restaurant became more casual. However, once we dug in, we were very pleased with their choices. We are finding that more and more NJ restaurants are cutting back from upscale to casual. In this case, do not be afraid to go - you will be more than satisfied."

  • "I have never encountered a problem or had a complaint at Uproot. The kitchen has always been spot on. There are some items on the menu that are quite expensive, even on the apps list, it is very possible to fill up with a good meal for two with a bill plus 20% tip that is under $50; we just did it. However we didn't have drinks."

  • "Had a great meal here again. We were a group of 4. We started out with the tuna apps as well as the Banh Mi Tacos - both were excellent. We asked for an extra Taco - normally there are 3 for $10.99 - and there was only a $2 uptick - which was eminently fair. I had the Short Rib stew - which was really exceptional! Slightly on the rich side but it did not stop me from finishing every drop! Two in the group got a Pork special which they loved, and one of us got a Bleu Cheese Burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My only gripe is that yet again the choices for dessert leave something to be desired. I have yet to see anything on the dessert menu I'd want to eat. How about something chocolate? How about some "normal" ice cream flavors?"

  • "We loved the original menu when UpRoot opened, and we have adjusted to the scaled down, bistro-style menu. Restaurants have to adjust to meet the desires of their customers, and this one has gone very casual. Christmas Eve and many of the diners were dressed in jeans and very casual - a bit too casual for the holiday and for the decor. Ve The quality of the food has not wavered and for that we are grateful. We had salmon served with a risotto styled farro and it was excellent . Appetizers were crab bites and steamed shrimp dumplings and both were excellent..Our 10 year old was very pleased with her dinner and the desserts were terrific."

  • "I frequent this restaurant every month or so. It's found in an upper-scale town and they keep things interesting. They often switch new item or two into their menu. The bartender is on point all the time. Their menu is inventive. They have lots of interesting apps. The homemade guac is made to order. I get it every time. Their entrees are good and pasta is homemade. I recommend."

Was about 1/16 head of lettuce - I am custom and expect to a nice Wedge size portion for the price charge for the salad. Since it's close and convenient we are regulars - Hope they don't decide to be cheap on portions or quality Dawn green brook"

  • "Another trip to Uproot, another amazing experience! The food was incredible and the staff was attentive and friendly as usual. This time, I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes (my favorite!) and I got a side of brussels sprouts with bacon - yummmm! My husband had the strip steak which he loved. For dessert, I had the peanut butter brownie, super delicious, and my husband was adventurous & tried the salted rosemary and huckleberry pistachio ice creams, both were stellar! We love going to Uproot because the ambiance is unique & fun, the prices are super reasonable for the quality of the meal you get & the menu has a wide variety of options. There are always new things to try. We will definitely continue dining at Uproot!"
