UpFood good, service notAfter hearing mixed reviews on this restaurant, my husband and I decided to give it a try. For some reason, they had us reserved for the patio...considering it was 97 degrees outside, this was not what we reserved. So, they put us at a nice little table by the bar which was fine. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The service was not good though. Anytime we needed something (even to order food), we had to flag down the waiter. This may have been because we were in the bar area and we got a different crew? I ordered the beef short ribs, which I had dined on during lunch on several occasions. The dinner portion, while much bigger than the lunch portion, did not have the same melt in your mouth texture that I had come to expect. I was disappointed, but will hope it was only an isolated incident. The atmosphere was quiet, which allowed us to have a relaxing conversation. The wait staff was very helpful and prompt. The food was amazing. The steak I had was perfectly cooked and the beef short ribs my wife had were also amazing. The rest of the food was top notch. I went for lunch and had the Prix Fixe Business Lunch, and the amount and quality of the food you get for the price is outstanding. Obviously it is a bit too pricey for everyday eating, but for a special occasion, a business lunch or just to treat yourself, it is well worth it! The service is great, the food is amazing and during lunchtime it is very quiet. I've never had a bad experience. From the moment you walk in the door, the hostess is fantastic, personable and engaging. The service team does an outstanding job of being there - when they need to be there. I've been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years (corporate side) and I've always prided myself on giving credit when credit's due - you must experience this restaurant. Oh, and the food is fantastic! I didn't think about it anymore. The place is AMAZING! Fantastic decor. Extremely rich and stylish yet very warm and welcoming. The chandelier is out of this world. Our waiter was new but was absolutely fantastic! He knew a great deal about the food and he was attentive yet unobtrusive. Then, he brought out this fabulous dessert with "Happy Birthday Michael" written on the plate in chocolate!!!! This trip was to try the Monday night chef special-- Buttermilk fried chicken and waffles.. The crust was crispy not at all greasy, and the chicken was tender and flavorable. One entree consisted of 4 pieces of chicken-- everyone took home chicken leftovers. Also notable was the tortilla soup and the Brussels sprout/artichoke appetizers. Brandon, our waiter was 5 star; and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and my out of town guest loved the ambiance, the food and the beautiful chandelier. We had brussel sprouts and a crab cake to begin, and then he had the duck and I had the lamb. Followed by a little cheesecake and each had a bite. My wife wife and I ordered four dishes (one appetizer and entree by each of us), and every dish was outstanding. The staff was courteous, attentive. Our particular waiter was also completely knowledgeable about the menu and especially helpful with suggestions when we asked. the service was great...nice & friendly. the menu had a nice selection, but not one of the 10 page things that makes me crazy.
wine selection was nice also.
