  • "I have eaten at Uniscali multiple times, but this time I brought 2 new friends and we will all definitely be back. Such a great place for happy hour or just catching up with friends or family. The service was great and all the regular menu items were just as good as I remember. I had the special and I was thrilled to try something new. Our server was very attentive and had no problem helping recommend items for everybody. He was even able to get my gluten free friend a fabulous meal of gluten free pasta!"

  • "This was our third meal at Uniscali, and it was just as great as the first two. The Chicken Saltimbocca was d!elicious, and the pasta and arugula with lemon were perfect with it. The fusilli with shrimp and sausage was very flavorful and satisfying. The rustic Italian bread, grilled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was addictive! We love the friendly atmosphere and the wonderful service and plan to go back soon."

  • "Great food, wine selection and service. We had an early Friday dinner, sharing small plates with a quartile of wine for me and craft beer for my husband. The tuna tartare was fresh and tasty. The new chili brushed broccoli - broccoli lightly breaded with rice flour and seasoned with chili powder, then fried crisp on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside - comes with a creamy sauce you'll want to eat by itself with a spoon. The crab claws are perfectly cooked and seasoned: no butter needed. The stack of potatoes is decadent, with a yummy fondue of blue cheese. The chocolate bread pudding was so good. The service is perfect: attentive, friendly yet not hovering. Perfect date night. They stay busy, so go early or make a reservation."

  • "meal was a bit heavy on the starches and carbohydrates. had the beef filet with winter veggies and potatoes. Veggies was, literally, 4 steamed green beans. 4 green beans does not make a serving. noise level was a bit loud and being a small restaurant, it was amplified. Service was fantastic. Wait staff was very responsive and engaging. Chocolate bread pudding was okay, but the Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was fantastic. husband had the cioppino which was a large portion and full of seafood. bread is brought to the table - which they don't tell you about. so don't order the bruschetta if you plan on eating the free bread. Limoncello was a nice touch after dinner and before dessert."

  • "This is the best Italian food outside of Italy. The spices are superb; the pesto is incredibly subtle. The lovely presentation adds to the delicious food. We ate there several times, indulging ourselves with the specials, before we got to the actual menu. We have never been disappointed. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It is always a treat to eat at Uniscali."

  • "Don't go if your notion of great Italian food means it has lots of thick, spicy red sauce and over-cooked spaghetti. If you like fresh ingredients prepared and served in the manner you will find in four star restaurants in modern Italy and you enjoy a wide selection of California and Italian wines, this is your place. The service is competent, friendly, quick, but not rushed, The kitchen is quality, and the executive chef is incredibly creative!"

  • "Food was amazing as usual! Staff was attentive and helpful. My only critique is that the tables for two are very long (rectangular). I was sitting so far away from my husband and it was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation. We've been there for special occasions (anniversaries and Valentine's), but we may need to rethink that or ask to sit at the bar. It's not fun to dine alone when you're with someone special. I actually envied the couples who were seated at a table for four."

  • "Went here on the 13th to avoid the Valentine's Day crowd. It was still packed and extremely noisey. My wife and I were unable to talk at all which didn't work well for Valentines. The food was good although a little off the beaten path as far as ingredients were concerned. This would be a great place to take a group and share small plates and drinks. I wouldn't recommend for an intimate dinner for two."

Get the bread pudding no matter what flavor - the double chocolate featured currently is amazing as is every bread pudding we have ever had at Uniscali.   • "My husband and I were looking for a new, nice restaurant to spend our anniversary without driving horribly far in the snow. Uniscali was wonderful and if I had to drive through a blizzard I would do it to go back! The wine was wonderful and food as beautiful as it was good! Both my husband and I left saying how the service was so wonderful and nice, neither of us could remember leaving a restaurant thinking "hey, our service was genuinely wonderful." Well, we did with Uniscali. Our waitress and hostess were both friendly without being intrusive, enjoyed our enjoyment with the food, offered suggestions without pushing any specials. All in all, it was a fabulous experience!"

  • "When we were first seated, we were at a table in the middle and couldn't even hear each other speak without shouting. We were pretty disconcerted. Then, we asked to move to a table by the wall which helped a bit. The food was very good and the service was good too. It's a cute little restaurant but the noise level was so unbearable that unfortunately we probably won't return."

  • "We went as a girls night and had a wonderful time. The wine was great, the food even better! We had several of their small plates and ALL of them were spectacular, with the exception of the calamari, it was sub-par. The breading was not great and made the calamari a bit too heavy. The Uniscali house salad is wonderful and the dressing is amazing, ask for the recipe and they will give it to you :) The Italian Mac&Cheese YUMMY!!!! The Bruschetta was very good as well. Finally the bread they give you with any meal is to die for!!! Ciabatta bread that is toasted with garlic and salt and finished off with a balsamic reduction, YUM! The only negative, our waiter was dull and forgot some of our order :( however, I would definitely go back!"

  • "We had been to "The Union", a restaurant bar also owned by the people who started Uniscali. We were impressed by the unique menu and quality of food there so we were excited to try Unscali. My wife and I went on a Friday night date and had set a reservation. We were immediately greeted by our server once seated and he was very attentive the entire evening. I ordered the Cioppono which was absolutely delicious. I could almost drink the broth and the seafood was perfectly cooked and plentiful. My wife ordered the Beef Tenderloin, cooked medium. The meat came perfectly cooked and was melt in your mouth tender and paired sauce to die for. This is one of the best meals we have had in some time."

  • "My husband and I frequent Uniscali at least twice a month. Sometimes we are with another couple or one of our adult children. The food is consistent and the service is always timely and efficient. We especially enjoy happy hour for some great prices, often making a meal of the offered happy hour venue. Recently they have mounted some sound buffers on the ceiling and it has greatly improved the noise level."

Every bite was heaven and they even did gluten free mods so i could enjoy everything that I wanted. Best part about Uniscali has to be the fact that you genuinely feel like the whole staff is enjoying you be there. Wonderful birthday dinner."

  • "This was our first time here. The staff was friendly and attentive. We were there for happy hour, which had a pretty good selection of appetizers and drinks. The complimentary bread was very very good! I'm not sure what they put on it, but it was sweet and a bit tangy, and the bread itself was delicious. For dinner I had the grilled salmon, which was above average and cooked well. My husband had the lasagna stack, which was really good. I wish they served some fancy Italian desserts, but just gelato and some other items. Overall the experience was very nice, and I recommend it to others. Be forewarned, it will get louder and louder as the restaurant fills up! But if that doesn't bother you, then give this place a shot. It'll be worth it."

  • "Uniscali is a total surprise in Castle Rock! The exterior in a little strip mall doesn't give you any hint of the wonderful little restaurant inside. The "northern Italian" cuisine is wonderful - the menu offers a nice selection. However, there are generally people packed together waiting right inside the front door - no bar and no waiting space. The decor is sparse to say the least, and truly could use some updates. But all that said, I would return to this place time and time again."
