Started off poorly when they poured our chilled white wine into steaming hot glasses that instantly warmed our wine. Loved the food starting out. Great steak and short rib as well as salads to start. However, service felt rushed the whole time. At the end we went with the créme brûlée. I've never seen a dessert come out faster... It was obviously prepared completely ahead of time as the fruit had caused the caramel used sugar on top to become soggy. The custard was also way to lemony. We had hoped to enjoy our desert but had to send it back. The server told us it was made to order and tried telling us we were mistaken about this. Unhelpful. Love the ambiance and restaurant as we have had pleasant experiences and we'll try it again.

Last year had the Kobe beef burger and loved it. This year the scallops were decent but not yummy. My partner left still hungry. He liked his short rib but found the appetizer sized entree portion skimpy for the price. Our starter salad was mundane. For 100 with no dessert coffee beverages or alcohol this was a big let down.

As we arrived in Cape May a bit late, the first evening we chose to eat right next door to our motel, rather than travel further afield, as we did on later nights. The dining room was comfortable if somewhat staid; the meal was served promptly by helpful staff; and the food was quite good. I very much enjoyed the crab cake appetizer and the duck breast with pears and arugula. Would recommend it.

My husband and I took advantage of outdoor seating on the porch with a view of the ocean on a beautiful evening. My salmon dish was cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. I also had the caesar salad which was very enjoyable. My husband had the halibut special which was good but both of us decided the salmon dish (regular menu) was the better choice. My only disappointment was dessert. We ordered the cheesecake which was cold and dry as if it had been sitting in the refrigerator for sometime. As we had paid the bill when dessert arrived our server did not return and thus we did not inform him that the cheesecake was lacking. We will be back as our entrees were very good, but most likely will skip dessert next time.

This was our second visit to Union Park and it was as pleasant and as delightful as the first. The service, the ambience and the food were great and the atmosphere made for a nice romantic dinner. Both my wife and I ordered the duck breast. Hers was cooked perfectly but mine was a bit undercooked for my taste. However, that was my fault because we both asked for medium rare which is exactly what we got. I should have asked for a bit past medium rare towards medium. They offered to cook it a bit more for me but I didn't want to have to sit there and wait. In the end it turned out fine. If you go, try the shrimp cocktail appetizer; large and delicious with a touch of honey in the cocktail sauce.

When I looked up Union Park, I felt as if I was going to a 5 star restaurant... at least I thought so. I expected a more fine dining type experience. Which was impossible to imagine with kids running around, none of my food explained, and a noticeable wait time. As for the food, it was not different or unique. I ordered the lamb medium rare, which came back what seemed like a fresh rare red.

The place was charming and the service was first rate and first class. The food was quite good but the menu was limited. I would have liked a few more choices that were a little less spicy. What we had was delicious and beautifully presented. It is a byob inn but the Cape May wines they had were good. It would have been helpful if Open Table would list it as a byob so that dinners can be prepared.

Every summer we vacation in Cape May and Union Park is one of highlights. I has a lovely dining room and also a nice outdoor eating area. The food is wonderful - creative and delicious. The wait staff especially Shirley and Elizabeth (Liz) are terrific at their jobs. They completely describe the specials (with the price!!) and have total knowledge of the menu. They are accommodating and efficient and have lovely personalities. My wife and I look forward to this special place every summer.

We stayed at the Hotel Macomber directly upstairs from the restaurant, so if you're staying there, eating here is a must. There is a wrap-around veranda overlooking Beach Ave and the ocean -- amazing views! Service was quick yet attentive. Food was beyond our expectations -- we had the tuna tartare and crabcake to start. The crabcake was easily the best I've ever had -- the jalapeno aoli was excellent and added a slight kick. Our mains were the scallops and the halibut (one of the specials that night). The chef came out to present our food -- what a nice touch! It is BYOB, but there is a small selection of wines from a local Cape May winery to choose from.

Our group varying from 8-12 people has dined at Union Park each year for the last 4 or 5 years during our annual Cape May vacation. If possible it only gets better each year. Food - not a big menu - and not inexpensive - but it is all delicious, perfectly prepared, beautifully presented - always a real treat. Cost are kept down by the BYO policy. Service is friendly and on the ball. The dining room is beautiful - like sitting in a beautiful dining room in someone's home; very comfortable and elegant - but not at all stuffy. For smaller parties there are tables on the porch of of the Hotel Macomber, where the restaurant is located. Some with views of the beach.

Overall, we liked Union Park. We knew that it was going to be overpriced, paying for the location etc. But, we did not expect a 45 dollar appetizer that listed oysters, mussels, lobster, crab to only have 3 small (smaller than a crayon) slivers of a crab leg and a lobster that could have been mistaken for a crawfish!! The steak was ok (cooked nicely, good size, but had marbled fat in a sirloin). Overall, the location and the excellent service (Gentleman named Miles from Bulgaria) was what made us enjoy our experience.

As usual the food and service here were nothing short of wonderful. We recently discovered our daughter is allergic to gluten, corn, dairy, and beef. A pretty tall order to get great tasting food when dining out. She's also 22 so she's been eating without those restrictions for a long time and knows what she's missing. The staff at union park produced a delicious meal for her after choosing from several options. We all had a wonderful meal and couldn't have been more pleased!

$250 for 3 adults, one young child... this BYOB place is NYC priced without quality, portion size, creativity and lacks food flavor. We seriously don't understand how an in-season beach restaurant offers Farm raised salmon and at a cost of almost $30. From appetizers through to dessert all of our meals were utterly disappointing. Take your money and dine elsewhere.

Union Park is simply gorgeous in every way. Elegance without the stuffiness. Attentive service yet unobtrusive. The food is always delicious and plentiful. I ordered a NY Strip steak that was on the specials menu and it was as good as any place that bills itself as a steakhouse. We saw couples, families , and one small group gathering for a special occasion. Union Park works for everyone and I recommend it with complete confidence.
